Thanks for bringing this thread back, I had forgot that it was approaching that time of year again! Depending when the good Doctor decides to run the computations, I may be away in Vegas at the CES though, as I'm not getting back until January 10. I guess I'll have to pop on and see if the new stats are up when I get back - it will be interesting to see how everything turns out!

And yes, there are more 601s now, however, it's really just a natural progression - as people spend more time on the Forums, their post counts will increase, and so on. I have no doubts that a year from now we'll probably be making some similar comment along the lines of "There are so few 603s on MacRumors!", and then 6 months later there will be many more... ;)

But I can't wait untill the new list, it gives me motivation :D

Yep, it is always fun to see how some of MacRumors long-standing and/or active posters have "performed" over the months.

And although it has indeed grown the past little while, I am still proud to be part of the exclusive "Club 601". Perhaps sometime in 2006 though, myself and some of my other Club members will decide to join a new, more exclusive Club... Mods willing.... ;)

My job pretty much kept me away from the forum for more than 6 months. :(

I have a feeling that might be the same for me at some point next year. My work has the potential to become quite chaotic next year, so I may not have the luxury of spending as much time here at MacRumors. Throw in a new house, etc. etc. and 2006 is going to be a busy year! Ah well, I'll do my best to be around as much as I can...

i certainly haven't kept of my posting rate. but what can you do? it happens.
i post when and where i feel neccissary. and when i can. some days i am just too tired from work to bother getting involved on the boards and just read along. :D

That's an easy one, at least for me and mkrishnan. You see, I believe that the good Doctor's stats are flawed in one sense - they are calculated based on a 6-month cycle. Since neither of us were on the January 2005 list (hadn't been members for 6 months by then) our posts counts up until then were ignored...

Uh oh. That puts me at nearly XX posts per day, where XX is a big number.

Yeah, but according to emw, the post counts for Doctor Q's list only account for the last time you were on the list. Since this would be my first appearance, I'll have posted just over 8,500 posts in the last six months (apparently). Which is just under 50 posts per day. Thank God white text doesn't have a censor...

Heh heh - I gotcha. ;) Yes, it will be an interesting list to see indeed! Guess I'll probably have to wait though until I return from CES in Vegas on the 10th to see where all the dust settles - the list will probably be compiled and posted when I get back...

I'm 182. That's not too shabby from nearly 55000 members.

At my ski forum you go from First Timer to Newbie after 5 posts, Member after 30 posts and the next bump up isn't till 5000 posts. The top poster there has 50,000. It basically like the Community Forum here only focussed on skiing. I'm about 1500 behind changing up from Member and I've been on there nearly 10 years.

I don't know whether to be frightened or inspired.

I've been on similar Forums myself - you should see some of the sci-fi ones! Those Trekkies, Star Wars fanatics and the like can talk 24/7 about absolutely everything regarding their "universe", and have tens of thousands of posts as a result!

No, it won't be that bad. My comment on the 6-month thing only matters for the first time you qualify for the statistics and how it affects the projected stats. You see, you have to be a member on the forum for at least 6 months before Doctor Q will include you in the calculations. You've been a member since April 3, 2004 - so your stats will be based on that timeline.

That is, even if you weren't on the list in July due to lower post counts/rates, you still qualified to be included in the statistics. This next list will be based on your current count (XXXX) and rate (xx.xx per day). And the projections should be slightly more accurate, since your per-day rates have likely started to stabilize somewhat.

That's still a scary thought to think that his post/day rate has stabilized at 13.54 posts! :p Will he be able to sustain that? Only time will tell... ;)
