Chart #3: "End of Time" Top 50 Posters

Computed by Doctor Q on July 4, 2007

Um, what are the criteria for making it on the list? I know psychofreak is not top 100, yet is projected on the list... is length of membership a requirement?

Another member with a certain distinction: Colomb, whose official date of registration is June 5, 2000, but who has yet to post. Colomb was the first of many memberships transferred to the vBulletin-based forums.

Colomb has resisted the temptation to comment in any of the over 326,000 threads so far. Probably just waiting for an interesting topic to come up!

Long-term post rate: 0.000 posts/day.

Short-term post rate: 0.000 posts/day.

Position on the Top Infinity list of members: last.
I thought this was exceptionally funny on a slow Friday afternoon. :)

I think the good doctor needs a full six month span of posts before he can calculate out an accurate projection of future posts. Since you joined several weeks after 1-1-2007, that could explain it.

Thats what I figured, makes sense to me.

We'll see if I land in the next edition or not. (the way it's been going lately, I won't be there)

I set up the current requirements for "qualifying" in one of the previous Top 50 rounds, and I don't remember the details. I'll have to check my notes and the logic in the spreadsheet formulas to get you the precise answer.

Hmm... it appears I will never make it in the top fifty....Unless....

Time to fire up every mac and PC I have.:D (Or multiple tabs could work.... D'oh!)

*grins at Cassie* :D
I will never make it into the top 50 again... though I'm oh-so-close at #52;)
That other thing about the date is because the dates weren't properly converted over from the old forum system, and those who had never posted got the earliest possible date assigned to them. That's just a theory, it may be completely wrong.

Look out...I'm fast sneaking up....#1450 and rising fast. w00t!

A whooping .32 posts per day :0

(Oh, but the lurking hours!)

Nah, just post more and you'll make it.:p

Congrats on the MBP!:)

Well, my post rate dropped off a bit as I took on mod duties...I'm not surprised by that though.

It's always a treat to see these stats, Q. They're great for tracking the evolution of the MacRumors forums and seeing the cycles of active posters rising and falling.

when did these forums open??? 2000??
There's a two part answer:
The site opened February 24, 2000.

arn switched to the current software (vBulletin) in 2001, so that's when our thread/post/member numbering began.
