Um, what are the criteria for making it on the list? I know psychofreak is not top 100, yet is projected on the list... is length of membership a requirement?
To qualify for chart #1, members must
  1. have enough posts to reach the Top 50
  2. not be banned
To qualify for chart #2, members must
  1. have been in the Top 100-or-so by post count on the measurement day of any of my previous Top 50 Poster threads, or be in the current Top 50
  2. have enough posts to be among the Top 50 by projected post count
  3. not be banned
I usually exclude high-posting very-new members from Chart #2 because they are likely to calm down (or be calmed down by the moderators) just as quickly as they started up. Therefore, it's possible that I'd fail to include a new member who has a high post rate that IS sustained over the long term. But I'd certainly catch them the NEXT time.

To qualify for chart #3, members must
  1. have been a member at least 6 months
  2. have been in the Top 100-or-so by post count on the measurement day of any of my previous Top 50 Poster threads
  3. have a post rate over the last 6 months that is more than 5% of their long-term rate
  4. have a high enough weighted post rate to be among the Top 50 by that measure
  5. not be banned!
The 5% rule is to eliminate members who have greatly reduced or stopped their posting.

That is vBulletin's way of saying "undefined".

I think it's a database thing...after an update to wordpress the 'about' box on my blog now says that it was posted dec. 31st 1969. Silly computers not knowing what day it is. ;)

Easiest competition: April (965 posts needed to qualify)

Once again, AlphaTech sneaks into a Top Poster list.

I couldn't even find 10 high posters who registered in February, so the Top 10 has only 9!

Darn, you just had to sneak me into a MacRumors list of shame, didn't you? :p

Meanwhile, who would have thought mad jew, arn, and I all had something in common?! :D

Unless you count the infamous day that jelloshotsrule made something like 70 posts (real ones, not one-liners) in a single day.

That's true, although, see, by definition, that isn't so spammy. I guess Jello was more of that in his day. I think his decline in posting had already become quite pronounced by the time I became active in the forum.

Well, iBookG4User did make 81 the other day...

But I believe it was actually somewhere around 200 for jelloshotsrule (At least thats what I'm told...)

And I noticed I passed Rod Rod and moved from page 8 to 7 on the members list yesterday.

yay me. ;) :D

wow fun numbers.

anyways thanks Q

just 30 posts a day to make it on the next listing, and about 16.5 to make it in a years time.

I have a question, how many non-demi's are in the top 50, 100?

More evidence that the Top 10 and Top 50 posters do most of the work at MacRumors. Maybe they should be paid more for their efforts. Let's double their salary!

Note: The chart I posted here was miscomputed and didn't pass the sniff test. It showed the Top 50 making 80% of all posts, but that's because I incorrectly intermixed post counts from the beginning of time (one spreadsheet) with post counts in the last 6 months (another spreadsheet). See my second attempt a few posts below!

Sorry!

Damn that's absurd...79% of the posts made by 50 people! Hahaha.

As far as the month-to-month registrations go...woo I made a list. :D

Hmm, I'll break in only at 46? Glad to know I'll be in there sometime.

Not if I can help it! :p
Man, I remember I used to be real high on that list. Guess it was fun while it lasted.

jon
On my first EoT list, I was listed at #10, now I'm all the down to 48. :(

On the contrary, I could refer to you as 68559.

You stole my joke.

Also, I'd like to know my lead over gekko513, as gekko, skunk, and myself (should I change my name to an animal too? :p) are all listed as 4.2ppd.
Perhaps this should be settled in a duel. :D

You're more than welcome to beat me, it's no race!

Indeed, something I'm good at, maybe I should look into it as a career choice?

Either that, or get a animal named after you, much easier to accomplish.

And as far as dueling, will it be with banjo's or water guns?

assuming the top 10 hold 27% and that isn't greatly rounded. MJ holds 4.18% of all posts, Mr. Anderson holds 3.58%, and jsw holds 2.91%.

so about 1 in 24 posts are made by MJ.

Nope, he actually has less than 1% of total posts (.007%).

skunk = 4.216
Counterfit = 4.212
gekko513 = 4.155

I am using a dual processor, as a matter of fact.

(should I change my name to an animal too? :p)
Hmm... a counterfit animal... how about Fake Fur or Dolly the Sheep?

Oops, big mistake in my chart... I mixed the data from two computations, incorrecly. Hold on and I'll replace it. Sorry.

I was trying to limit the time period of the post range, but used the total posts to date. The top ten is more like 4% of overall posts since the beginning of time.
