Exactly, some of these AT$T trolls seem to be here all day responding to every post, pretty ironic.

Oh and why is trolling allowed here??
More like why are the clueless "allowed" to wander around without supervisor, calling anyone they don't agree with a "troll." Or the latest grunt: "You must work for AT&T!" <chuckle>

That is unbelievably childish. But then again so is this entire thread. Whining about not being able to stream Netflix on 3G. Oh boo freaking hoo!

I wish I DID work for AT&T as I would be laughing a lot harder at this thread than I already am! Bwaaaaahhhhhhh! :D

Really? I'm repeatedly telling people to take their money and leave AT&T - which is best and easiest action one could take against them. I guess that's normal for employees though?

By all means though, continue with the accusations that I somehow work for them.
Hey if anyone is stupid enough to think you work for AT&T... embrace it! It's hilarious! lol

I really don't think ATT would have a reason to pay their employees to troll forums. If you think they are doing it on their own free time, I suppose that's plausible. Bust ask yourself this: What do you do for a living? Do you go on whatever forums that relate to your work and start trolling them on your free time? The idea that ATT workers love their job so deeply that they feel the need to come on forums to defend it is laughable to me, but I guess it's possible.

Respectfully, if this is what you think this thread is about (and I am not even one of the people whining about ANYTHING) then you must have missed a few things somewhere.

The thread is about feeling cheated. Whether that was in the fine print, not in the print, etc. That is what people are upset about. I certainly have yet to be throttled, so there is nothing for me to be upset about (though I generally waiver right around 2-3GB and don't live near a huge city). People make the argument that I could have gotten out of my contract. Thing is, I was never notified that there would be changes made to how unlimited data works. If I didn't read here, I wouldn't know. There may very well be people in that boat. That is, they didn't spend time researching the problem until it became one. And those people feel let down too.

Unfortunately, I think ATT is within their legal right. Every post of mine on the subject would back this up. That doesn't make what they are doing right, but it is what it is. What is the point of a forum if people cannot vent their frustrations?

He is right. I fired AT&T over this BS and I never even got throttled, in fact I was on a FAN discount plan with my work and I was told we don't get throttled. But I don't care, that a company I pay, would make me feel uncomfortable about using something they sold me for what they said I could use it for. No way, I don't do business like that.

Your Fired!

And I am going to let everyone know what kind of Buisiness you do.

My brother just got throttled by AT&T, on day 30 of his 31 day billing cycle.

When he checked his data use, he used 2076.25 MB of his unlimited plan.

I guess they are still throttling after 2 gb, even though for the same $30 he could get the 3 gb plan (but will get hosed if unlimited actually becomes unlimited again via a lawsuit or other remedy.)

See the other thread, Official AT&T throttling thread- MAP

I've started another thread on a similar topic. If you've gotten throttled, tell that thread at what point, and where you are. I'm going to compile this into a map to see if it's regional, which many suspect it is.

Witty, insightful, and very unchildish commentary.

Everyone thinks you're a troll for a reason, and the assertions you and your fellow trolls make about how anyone complaining is being "childish" just goes to show that it is some sort of projection. Everyone here owns an iPhone and many of them are being screwed by AT&T, they have a legitimate right to discuss this here, by shouting them down and calling them childish, you just prove your own "childishness" and immaturity. And it reflects badly on this site that trolling is allowed as I haven't seen any action taken to stop it.

Next it will be people not even being able to use Siri, and I'm sure you and your fellow anti-complaint police will be here to call them names.

I think this sickening statement says all that needs to be said about you, I wish your posting rights could be throttled.

Now, THIS, I like! :)

Although we can file a complaint with the FCC, in honesty what is that going to do? I don't believe they are going to do anything to them. If they were to raise the payment fee like Verizon was going to, then you would have a backlash of people. I for one will probably just switch to Verizon and not give anymore money to AT&T since they want to throttle me at 2.1 gb. So much for being a loyal customer for all these years! Thanks for treating me well, bunch of **********.

Agree with the writer in the Houston Chronicle that AT&T should have just manned up and ended Unlimited with the last contract. That would've been a lot cleaner than putting the squeeze on their customers by slowly lowering the throttle threshold.

I know a lot of people consider 'unlimited data' to be an unalienable right. But the fact is that Apple strong armed AT&T into offering unlimited data as a stipulation to get exclusive access to the original iphone.

Obviously the world/market has changed tremendously since then. The number of iPhone users have exploded as the average data consumption of each user.

The concept of unlimited data wasn't feasible in the market. And as AT&T was no longer the exclusive carrier, their initial reason for offering it was no longer valid.

Legally AT&T has the right to change the terms of contract with each renewal. Thou shalt have unlimited data for life is not the 11th commandment...(as much as people act like it is.) Heck, people have speculating for years LTE would be the end of unlimited data with AT&T.

What they should have done was announce it was ending with the next iPhone release and allow owners to make the decision to keep their old device with unlimited data or switch when they upgraded. Then everyone would be able to make the decision that was best for them.

It should be $5. per gig or any part of a gig at the most. That would be fair, most users would spend $5. on internet, then the power users who use 100 gigs would owe $500.00 and the rest of us could live in peace.

I agree with the post above. Tethering is something that I am very interested in for casual use but I am not willing to pay the premium for. If AT&T allowed tethering with the new 3GB plan I would dump my unlimited for it.

If you're already on Unlimited, a few have mentioned on here that they've been able to switch to the 5GB & tethering plan without an increase in price. If you're stuck with AT&T and tired of being throttle, it might be a decent option for you both to peruse.

I'd be in for the 5GB + tethering if they were to keep the price the same.

I think I read someone got 6 month free and then $50 per month.

This is what I don't get and why ATT is full of *****.

Myself and my good friend both have 4s' and grandfathered in on the unlimited.

We live 5 houses apart in the DFW market and both got the throttling warning text message at about 2gigs (+/-). However........ while he seemed to have gotten throttled, I was not.

This we can't figure out. As of the 7th, the last day of my plan I was knocking on the door of 3 gigs this month and this afternoon (still the 7th) I was able to pull a speed of 3.64Mbps while he was getting 0.08Mbps.

Of course the speed tests is not an exact science it's a good indicator of approximate speeds.

That's completely possible as well. I also remember reading how someone else received a discount on their other services (either texting or minutes) that brought the price down to the same as they're paying now.

The point being, AT&T is willing to make deals to get people out of the 'Unlimited' plan.. and while it may not seem as ideal as getting things back to how they were a year ago, at least then you'll be paying for a plan where you can actually use your phone for the entire month (so long as you watch your data consumption).

I got throttled last month and have been watching my data use this month. I am willing to give up unlimited data for a good deal if I can negotiate one. I have brokered VERY good deals for my home phone and internet with AT&T but they have been unwilling, at least with me, to negotiate with wireless plans. My fear is that I will leave my unlimited plan and then the throttling will be lifted and I am stuck with a limited plan. I don't know what to do. I guess it depends on how much data I use in my new "reformed" phone use lifestyle.

Unless someone is able to win some sort of lawsuit with AT&T over this, I don't see them ever considering to reinstate the unlimited data plan as it once was. I wouldn't hold out if you need the switch at all.

Thanks for the advice, but I fired ATT two months ago and got Verizons unlimited LTE with unlimited LTE hotspot for $60. I can tell you how if you want its still available as of a few days ago. ITs a loophole and you will have to have an LTE phone to get it. But this way I figure I will ge the next iPhone if they dump the tiny screen and have LTE. Otherwise I am loving my 35Mb down and hotspot :)

I did 15gigs last month, and already have 3 gigs this month so far but I do pay $60.

I just got off the phone with customer relations, they handle customers who want to cancel service. I was calm, polite and told them I wanted to cancel service and explained why. They gave me the unlimited messaging plan ,thats 20 dollars, for 10 dollars. And I will be getting a 10 dollar credit on my account as long as I have at&t. Only thing was that I had to switch to the 5gb tether plan. I have never gone over 4gb even tethering with my iPhone 4 and I use even less now with my 4S so I can live with this, plus I'm not seeing an increase on my bill. Im happy!!

Lesson 1: COMPLAINING WORKS! Pay attention doubters. So what if it's not UNthrottling the current plan. You think it would have been ANYTHING if he HADN'T complained? Point taken yet?

I had the unlimited plan, but last night switched to the 3GB plan. Thats a lot of data for the same price as my unlimited, and I can live with 3GB, thats actually a lot of useage IMO. I am sure others will go this way too, it's a decent deal IMO.

It's a decent deal until they rape you with overages.

It's almost as worthless as COMMENTING on phone data.

You realize that statement invalidated itself, right?

I really don't think ATT would have a reason to pay their employees to troll forums. If you think they are doing it on their own free time, I suppose that's plausible.

Actually I have dealt with #ATTfail reps before who FOUND ME because they were trolling. Any time you use the #ATTfail hashtag, somebody, somewhere *hits in their pants, and a customer service rep is dispatched. I was doing this on twitter, and I got annoyed at them constantly contacting me, but never helping me, so I would block each one as they tried. I think I gave up after 12...? I don't use twitter any more.

Lesson 2: If you are PISSED, never use "AT&T", always use #ATTfail". When people ask me who my service is, I literally say "AT&T Fail". Maybe #ATTfail doesn't care about ME, but I bet they care about all the potential customers I talk out of using their service. Yes, I know I can leave/switch, but I have stated before I'm just waiting for the right time.

Although we can file a complaint with the FCC, in honesty what is that going to do? I don't believe they are going to do anything to them.

Maybe if you took the time to file the complaint, rather than complain about it not doing something, and actual complaint MIGHT have done something. I will never understand the logic of NOT trying. "I was going to ask out that hot girl, but she'll just say no." WTF?

BTW, Kudos on the Change.org petition to whoever started it.
