What was your mistake rate the very first time you used a mouse or keyboard? Were you able to quickly improve over time?
My mistake rate when using a NEW keyboard is subject to near zero-tolerance.
If it also doesn't work comfortably (like Apple's new butterfly keyboard) - I reject it.
Blind typing has a lot to do with referencing from one key to another, while keeping attention at the screen.
Dividing focus between keyboard - screen - TouchBar is a lot more compelling than keyboard - Touchscreen, however.
That's an elementary UI misconception from Apple's part.
