Apple doesn't develop batteries, they just buy them.
Well it's about time they start doing it then. We're at a point where you can optimize the hardware however you want, it won't improve battery life by the slightest. The only thing that will do that though is a bigger battery capacity.

Just use the button on the right side to wake up your phone, or a finger that isn't setup with Touch ID or the lower part of your finger that won't read, or your finger nail, or all of the above. Lots of options to solve this "problem".

The Touch ID is so fast now that I can't use the Home button to check my lock screen items. I have to use the sleep/wake button. It also makes it harder to quickly launch the camera because it bypasses the lock screen icon. I have to train myself to start using the sleep/wake button instead.

I'm not too upset about it, just trying to adjust.

I think this calls for us to use the sleep wake button more now, aka, use it for its intended purpose. Aside from viewing notifications, I noticed it when trying to get to Apple Pay by double clicking the home button. I have to either use a random finger or a finger nail to get to Apple Pay. My suggestion would be that if you double click the home button, even if it unlocks, it should bring you to Apple Pay..

Look! Y'all on the news!
Oh my god, it's a news story now. Shakes head. Can see sammysung executive slapping each other on the back laughing, Apple made it work too fast, haha we won't have that problem. Let's make a commercial out of it, yeah good idea. LMAO

What next.... iPhone 8s introduces dial back processor. Apple's processor was too speedy, finished computations before users could input question. So Apple adding processor throttle control, users can dial back speed so they can keep up. Another first from Apple!

;). ;). ;). :)

The Touch ID is indeed super fast now. When I just want to see the lock screen I have to remember to use an unregistered finger to press the home button. Otherwise I don't even see the lock screen.

I think my biggest issue is, did anyone really think Touch ID was slow before and needed to be faster? I just did it 10 times in a row on my Air 2 and the timing seemed to be just perfect. I'd press the button down and then let it linger there, and it would unlock right after the press was over, and if I pressed and let off I accessed the lock screen. That allows me to check notifications or unlock according to my preference.

I really hope they don't implement on the next iPad. At least on the phone we can use the sleep wake. On the iPad it's much less convenient being on the top of a much larger device.

I've gotten a ton of misreads. Especially with moist fingers (gym and running). It wasn't something that iceouldnhabe complained about, but I am in love with this one that much more. To each their own I guess.

Press with your fingernail on the edge. It works great for me. Dont worry about scratching the sapphire with your soft fingernail.

Misreads is a completely different issue than speed though. They could have improved the accuracy while keeping the speed constant.

Well, you mentioned you just unlocked your iPad ten times (unless I'm misunderstanding). I couldn't go ten times in a row without 1-2 misreads. This is why I mentioned that. Unlocking also doesn't bother me though, I rather like the instant unlock. I don't see why, technically speaking, Apple couldn't implement a software delay though. But I don't know enough about what goes on behind Touch ID to say that for sure,
One way or the other.

Are you seriously complaining about this? Just use a different finger, different side or different body part, of course they will implement it on the next iPad as well.

not so easy if trying to use the phone one handed on the go, think apple have had a bit of a nightmare here tbh, touch ID was perfecty fine

I've gotten used to having my thumb only slightly over the ring, roll up slightly onto the thumbtip and press button.

Actually i find that it is easier to just use the lower half of your finger like the part just under your finger print area. If you need to see your lockscreen that bad.

I love that the one of the biggest emerging teething problems for the 6S is that the Touch ID is TOO good. I'm over the moon, just taking it as a reminded that it's money well spent.
