Well it's about time they start doing it then. We're at a point where you can optimize the hardware however you want, it won't improve battery life by the slightest. The only thing that will do that though is a bigger battery capacity.Apple doesn't develop batteries, they just buy them.
thats actually a good idea never thought about using a different fingerJust use the button on the right side to wake up your phone, or a finger that isn't setup with Touch ID or the lower part of your finger that won't read, or your finger nail, or all of the above. Lots of options to solve this "problem".
The Touch ID is so fast now that I can't use the Home button to check my lock screen items. I have to use the sleep/wake button. It also makes it harder to quickly launch the camera because it bypasses the lock screen icon. I have to train myself to start using the sleep/wake button instead.
I'm not too upset about it, just trying to adjust.

Most of the inane complaints I hear after the launch of any phone have me thinking of using a different finger.thats actually a good idea never thought about using a different finger
This is the only sensible option I've read.i've made a habit to press the home button with my knuckle instead of the pad of my thumb to avoid this lol
Oh my god, it's a news story now. Shakes head. Can see sammysung executive slapping each other on the back laughing, Apple made it work too fast, haha we won't have that problem. Let's make a commercial out of it, yeah good idea. LMAOLook! Y'all on the news!
Love it, rolling on floor coughing, laughing so hard. Wife thinks I'm going nuts! Most of the inane complaints I hear after the launch of any phone have me thinking of using a different finger.

Lol I was being sarcastic in my response.Or you could swipe the button as you press it.
I've gotten a ton of misreads. Especially with moist fingers (gym and running). It wasn't something that iceouldnhabe complained about, but I am in love with this one that much more. To each their own I guess.I think my biggest issue is, did anyone really think Touch ID was slow before and needed to be faster?

Well, you mentioned you just unlocked your iPad ten times (unless I'm misunderstanding). I couldn't go ten times in a row without 1-2 misreads. This is why I mentioned that. Unlocking also doesn't bother me though, I rather like the instant unlock. I don't see why, technically speaking, Apple couldn't implement a software delay though. But I don't know enough about what goes on behind Touch ID to say that for sure,Misreads is a completely different issue than speed though. They could have improved the accuracy while keeping the speed constant.
I think my biggest issue is, did anyone really think Touch ID was slow before and needed to be faster? I just did it 10 times in a row on my Air 2 and the timing seemed to be just perfect. I'd press the button down and then let it linger there, and it would unlock right after the press was over, and if I pressed and let off I accessed the lock screen. That allows me to check notifications or unlock according to my preference.
I really hope they don't implement on the next iPad. At least on the phone we can use the sleep wake. On the iPad it's much less convenient being on the top of a much larger device.
Are you seriously complaining about this? Just use a different finger, different side or different body part, of course they will implement it on the next iPad as well.
