Hopefully there is some valid reason for this issue.

Yeah, the driver probably made a mistake. Everyone screws up once in a while. Sure, it sucks when you get affected or inconvenienced, but that's life.

I'm a little touchy right now. Not sure why. I mean no offense.

Yeah, except why would someone else sign for a package that didn't have his own name, or the name of someone he knew, on it? The address would have been clearly wrong too.

Also, you might check the phonebook, or go online to the White Pages, and see if you can find anyone with that name in your area. Save any info you find in case you can use it for future reference in dealing with FedEx.

I had similar problems with UPS. Our house is back off the street, and they started delivering our packages to our rental house, which is at the end of our driveway sitting right on the street. And of course our renters were too damn lazy to to even call and say they had our packages. I let UPS know about how angry I was too. If the package hadn't turned up, they'd have paid for the package.

I'd give FedEx hell over this regardless of what happened, though you might have to get Apple (or whoever you ordered the iPad from) involved, since I think the sender is actually the one who is supposed to file a report of a missing package. People do make mistakes, but that's a far too expensive mistake to be remotely acceptable.

Just got out of FedEx.
The guy said it looks to have been delivered to a warehouse or distribution center of some sort. He didn't know what to do, so got a supervisor.
She was friendly, apologized numerous times, and took all the info, and is putting a trace on the package. She said she'd call me within 24 hours.

That's all I have for now.
We'll see how it plays out.

Thanks for checking in. Hopefully it'll get sorted out and you get your iPad, just as you ordered it, soon. Keep us updated.

Oh I've had a lot of bad experiences with FedEx in the past. Call them ASAP.

That would explain why someone signed for a package that wasn't addressed to them. I'll bet there was a bunch of packages delivered to the place with yours mixed in by mistake and the guy just signed for them all and then looked at them after the fact. I hope your iPad finds its way home soon!

You should really contact apple immediately as well! They have a little more push and shove and also can get you another order going in-case this one is lost for good. You don't want them to be like hey why didn't you call us sooner.

LOL

And she would've gotten away with it too...if it weren't for those darned kids!

And that puppy!

I had this happen to me once with an order. I called FedEx immediatley when I realized it and they called the driver and had him pick up the package at the wrong address and bring it to me. I would call ASAP

FedEx called me. They said it was misdelivered with a bulk drop off. They said they would be sending someone over to retrieve it.

Then they called me again and said no one was there, and they will try again tomorrow, and let me know when they have it, so I can pick it up.

At least they say they know where it's at now.
A little relieved.

By the way, funny post, H Markum. :p

Thanks. I'll be here all week.

Glad you found your Ipad.

I had this happen once. I ordered something to be delivered to work ( a fire station). It was marked delivered but I nervier got it. They called the driver and he had delivered it to a fire station, still under construction no less, about two miles away. He had to get it the next day and bring it to the right place.

Had a UPS driver do that, I was waiting all day for delivery, showed delivered, my son went down to the depot to talk to his supervisor , the guy pulled in and said he might have left them at the wrong address, he told my son to go home and he would bring them , sure enough a hour later he delivered 2 packages, sure they were in his truck.

I'm sure if you phone Apple they will throw in a free smart cover for you troubles. Seems like everyone got a free one with their slow shipping speed.

Fed Ex really knows how to screw things up. I was home waiting for my iphone4 last summer. I expected to have to sign for it. Turns out they just left it in between my neighbors doors! Thank God he brought it over when he got home from work.

A lot of the problems with Fedex or UPS is they have so many packages and such little time to deliver them.. They don't take the time to read the address right or even make sure your the right person to sign for the package..

I don't work for either but I'm sure if they followed every policy they would be out till past 10pm...
