It's not just Android that flash is terrible on, it's terrible on OS X and Windows as well. Constantly crashing, freezing the browser, sucking up memory like no tomorrow. It's just an awful, awful piece of software, that sadly, has ended up being one of the most widely adopted.

Much like Windows. Nyuk nyuk.

The only time I had problems with flash on Android was on the Kindle Fire. Flash on the GS3 run flawless for me. I'm even able to play flash games from Newgrounds without problems.

I also never had a problem with flash on Mac since Leopard. And the only Windows OS I had a problem with flash was ME, and we all know where the blame goes with that one.

Flash is not the demon some make it out to be. Whether needed or not is preference. Being that said, I personally like that video sites are moving more on the side of html5.

I don't bother responding to people that claim to have used Android 'years' ago, on mid and low range phones or on small, slow and crappy networks like Sprint and TMobile. (And you wonder why Flash is painfully slow and laggy? Look at the network for gods sake!)
He was right about Flash being a CPU hog though, which is part of the reason it ran like crap on those older phones, but with the S4 chip, clocked at 1.5ghz and 2gb of ram on a 4G network, that isn't an issue. What he was spouting is old iFan propoganda about Flash. That said, I too am glad we are moving to HTML5 for everything.

(And I never had an issue with Flash on my 27" iMac or MBP running on Snow Leopard or Lion. Continues to run flawlessly.)

Android is the best if you want to customize. You can send ur mp3's or files so easily with android. There's a micro SD so you can import and export anything easily.

Most casual users are iphone suited. 99 percent of old people use iphones because it's so easy to use.

Apple has always been ease of use. Honestly, i've been playing with a buddies s3 for the past week.... and who ever says the iphone 4s is better is delusional. The S3 is the best phone on the market right now, and the iphone 5 is the only competition. we both were checking out websites and youtube. half the youtube videos won't even load on my iphone. Samsung's screen is unreal if you like browsing and that sort of stuff.

Regardless, once the iphone 5 comes out, everyone will hop back on the wagon. I will buy 2 iphone's like every year (one for the gf)... I know what i'm going to get.

This. I love my iphone 4 since its still pretty damn easy to use even when jailbroken. Just a few clicks of a button and boom I can do what I need with my iphone. No tricks or anything, the JB software these days is so damn easy to use.

My HP touchpad running ICS is too much of a pain in the ass to maintain. Then again, all I need to do is browse the internet while on the crapper / show my photos when its docked. So I stuck with the simplicity of the HP WebOS.

This time however, might go for Windows 8. That Lumia just looks sexy as hell.

Where is the difficulty of using Android?

And what has to be maintained?

OP sorry you feel that way.
Now I never had the SG3 but I do switch to a HTC One X from my iPhone 4 a couple of weeks ago and I really like the phone and the OS.

Yes it is different then iOS but isn't it supposed to be?
It just takes a little bit to get used to after being on iOS for so long.
But if you go and switch and then look for things that are different from iOS then yes that is just what you will find.

I was going to get an SG3, the sales assistant helped me out of the shop with it but I couldn't fit it in the car so had to return it.

The biggest problem with people switching from iOS to Android is they expect Android to work like iOS. I'm an iPhone user ever since it came out, last year my wife bought me a Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket. This was my first Android phone. At the beginning I hated it and always tried to find faults with the phone and OS. I stopped using it and went back to my 4S. Then my office mate pointed me to xdadevelopers site. I gave the S2 another chance and played around with custom roms, kernels, etc. After days of playing around with it I got hooked. I kept the 4S and sold it with the Skyrocket few months ago and bought a Galaxy S3.

The way I see it is iOS is like a Fisher-Price toy, you know different shaped blocks go into specific shaped holes. It's pretty much straightforward with no thrills involved. Android is like Lego, it may take you hours or even days to enjoy what you built but in the end it's worth it because it is built to what you like.

Sorry for the long first post.

One thing I'd definitely say is that I really hate the bloatware that is loaded onto my Android phone. I have to kill those apps routinely. In addition, I tried to root them out. Still, they pop up!

That kind of thing doesn't happen with my wife's iPhone. Kind of jealous. Besides that, they're all the same. The differences are really minor.

I still want to trade

Are we able to post on here about wanting to trade with people? If so, my Iphone 4s for a Galaxy S3

Did the same with my S2 last year. Sold my iPod touch and bought an S2. First few days was great. Then a couple of days later I started discovering stuff I didn't like, then started getting pissed off. In 2 weeks time I was thinking that I made the wrong decision and regretted it. I then sold it 2 weeks later (luckily?) only losing $100 as androids don't have good resale value.

You are nuts! I upgraded my GS2 for the GS3 and sold the old one for $300. I didn't lose money.. I made money. Even the iPhone obsessed tech guys at the phone company my partner works for agree the GS3 is a huge upgrade from the 4S.

People always say Androids don't have good resale value. Go on eBay and check how much the GS3 and Note 2 are selling for and this claim is quickly refuted.

The high end galaxy phones tend to hold pretty well, the value of HTC phones for example drop down the toilet the second you leave the shop.

Yeah, Samsung's Galaxy series are the only ones that really hold their values. But they are also the most popular Android handsets, so for most people resale value shouldn't be a big deal sine chances are pretty high that if they are buying a high-end Android phone, it's from the Galaxy series.

Its all about how much people pay for it and of course if people want it, htc you hardly see people looking for those now the galaxy s3, iphones and in these case the N4 people seem to go bananas.

They've gotten themselves a well deserved bad rep for releasing a new flagship phone every other month and forgetting to support the previous flagship which usually have bugs and people have spent a wedge of cash on, leaves a sour taste.

Basically feels like a new PC with all this software you will never use pre-installed.

Haha thats exactly how I felt with my Nexus 4. But I have gotten everything set up now after a few days and it seems to be working pretty well.

And ya, battery life on iOS devices as a whole are going to be better than on Android. The only exception is when you can get a phone with a large enough battery to offset the huge battery drain by the OS.

That is one thing that does tick me off about Android as well OP. All that freaking bloatware. Least Winmo you can uninstall all of it. Hopefully they catch up to Android heading into a Windows 2.0 market because that is "a future we don't want" :p

webOS IMO would have been a better OS to have it's legs spread 24/7 but that is just my opinion.

For ICS/JB onwards, you can go "Application" settings and disable those bloatware you dont want.
