Used to run the 6+ and decided to go back to the 6S this time as thought I could deal with the smaller screen.....gave up after 13.5 days and am now so much happier back with my 6S+......

THink the battery life is great and happier now back with the landscape screens etc......personal view but then again I have got shovels for hands so the whole size thing doesn't really bother me

Same here..

There are 2 reasons why 2 sizes exists: Apple wants to maximize sales & its failure to create a sized iphone 6 with a 5 inch screen.

If such sized iPhone 6 with a 5 inch screen (less border) should exist it would be the iPhone for everyone.

Exactly. Apple committed to 4.7 inch probably back in 2012 when they were designing the iPhone 6 (figuring 18 months development)

Galaxy's S3 was 4.8 inch at the time. Apple will deny it. But clearly they were aiming for Samsung S3 screen size level.

Once they made that commitment it hard to change development.

Samsung themselves have been stuck in the 5-5.1 inch range with their last 3 models S4-S6.

If you want to sell to the masses. You have to find a sweet spot. Clearly 5 inch with small frames/thin edge makes the most sense.

We all Apple will make a slightly larger screen (from the 4.7 model) with next iPhone

Hi Fast Eddie,

I have a great suggestion for everyone, too big or too small or whatever your opinion is. Go to your nearest hardware store and get some gray 3M non skid rubber stair adhesive strip. Cut it to fit and stick it on the side of your iPhones!!! You just about are guaranteed not to drop your phone. I love how secure it feels in my hand, and many friends love me for sharing. They work on cases also.

So I bought a 6s Plus last week, but I just can't get used to the size. The phone is simply too big and clumsy in the hand - trying to whip it out quickly and use with one hand requires constant balancing and hand readjustments to reach the entire screen. I end up balancing the phone on my fingers which is a sure fire recipe for drops. When I need to reach the upper 25% of the screen I kinda slide/bounce the phone down in my hand...then slide/bounce it up when I'm done. The reach-ability thing feels like an extra step I'd rather not do - and it just doesn't feel natural on a touchscreen where my thumb wants to reach out and touch what I want without thinking. It's almost impossible to hold the phone up and use it one handed while laying down (like in the recliner while I'm watching TV). Using one hand to check something quickly in the car or messing with maps is just annoying!

Another issue I have is that pulling out the plus is almost a public event rather than a personal matter. The phone is so big that I feel like anyone near me can see what I'm doing. With the 6s you can sorta cuff it in your hand with a secure grip like the easy-to-one-hand 4 or 4s - it's really not that much bigger feeling to me (0.9" taller/0.33" wider/.09" slimmer). The 4.7" has that natural extension of the hand feeling which I feel is essential for a phone. It doesn't feel like it could get away from me. I can't see the 6s being hard to one hand for anyone with at least an average size woman hand.

And what about cases? I'm one of those that like to keep my expensive phone in pristine condition - how do you folks use a 6 plus with a case that adds say 1/4"+ to the width? I only used the plus without a case, but I can't imagine how bulky it must feel with a case that offers decent protection.

I can understand the plus being a tablet substitute for some, but I just don't see it happening for me. I don't have a tablet, but instead of using the plus like one, I'd rather get on my laptop. Phone on the go/killing time and laptop for when I want to get stuff done (like typing up this post). I NEVER used landscape on the plus or any other phone - granted I'm not a gamer.

The 6s takes good enough pictures for me and I'm guessing 90% would never see a difference. I can't see a difference based on what I've seen.

The screens look the same to me.

IMO, the 6s would be the perfect phone if it had a slightly bigger battery. Relative to the Plus, in test I've seen online, the 6s and 6s plus are separated by only an hour or less. That's not really game changing...especially if you always carry a charger in your car.

It was fun 6s+, but tomorrow I'm switching you out for the 6s.

BTW - I'm no tech geek so take it easy on me.

If you're like me, you struggled trying to decide between the larger and smaller phone. The plus is the plus. The big daddy. Top of the line. I tried to love it, but using the plus for a while allowed me to have that "aha moment" where I thought despite this, that and another - it just doesn't perform as a phone in the way I use a phone. Once a phone's use as a phone is compromised - little differences mean nothing. It feels good to have made that decision and see if anyone else feels the same.

My first thought was similar. So, take the damn thing back and get the 6S, problem solved, why BLOG about it? I mean who cares dude...I have a 6Plus and I love it. Personally, it works for me, mainly cause I have big old hands and I don't have to feel awkward or clumsy using a smaller phone. It isn't rocket science, probably could have gone without that blog/review. They put them out on display at the apple store for a reason...go SEE them and pick them up. That said, I understand the need for people to be involved in a public conversation of it, in point of fact, I am doing that right now ;) Glad he got the phone he wanted.

I, for one appreciated his "blog". He ultimately chose a size dissimilar from yours and that didn't please you. I enjoyed his discovery.
I don't understand why you felt the need to say you "didn't give a damn".
Please don't dissuade people from posting because they don't buy what you bought. I enjoy this site, but lately I see posters such as you, bitching at others for no good reason.

Your opinion. I don't want a device with a screen smaller than 5.5" and won't purchase one at any point in the future.
Your opinion. What a loss for those devices smaller than 5.5", they would never have been scratched and never have lagged.

I went from a 5S to a 6S Plus. Been using it since Thursday and I have adapted straight away. I'm in love with the bloody thing.

I've had my 6S Plus for a couple of weeks now, first time with the bigger screen and I was skeptical on whether or not it would be too big but I would never go back now. Even with the smaller one I had to use two hands for certain tasks, this is still the case with the plus so it really didn't take any adjustment.

The 6s takes longer than a week to get used to

I bought the 6 then traded for 6+, it took about 2 weeks - this time there was no question - 6s plus for me please

Went from a 5s to 6s two weeks ago, got used to it but my palm seems to hurt so I hope I adjust to that

I don't get the size complaints. I use my 6s Plus one-handed 90%+ of the time. It also fits just fine in my pockets and you can't tell it's there. But then I don't wear those idiotic skinny jeans.

I have an iPad at home that never gets used either. Just not worth pulling it out. My phone has also taken much of my laptop usage away. The same goes for my wife with her 6 Plus.

Same here.. I use the phone one-handed almost all the time except while playing racing games you can attribute that to my large hands and the reach ability feature in the phone (am a big fan of it)

So if people where slim jeans it's idiotic, yet everybody I see with a 6+/6S+ seems to carry it in their back pocket. If it's not an issue, then why is it like that?

The phone is nice and the extra screen size is welcome, but it's cumbersome to carry and doesn't fit in every pocket. That is the draw back for many and it's whether you can put up with that.

Rightly said.. While the phone is great.. Issue is only with carrying it around for average height people mostly..

Went from 6+ to 6s and i am happy with the size. I miss 6+ battery life but I love the portability of 6s.

I took the leap from 5S to 6S+, and I was having a hard time at first; but I'm adapting, and am happy that I took a chance.

I wish SwiftKey would build in a one-handed mode in their app, which I complained about and requested on their feedback; but otherwise, I'm really enjoying the OIS camera and battery life!

The loss of compete one-handed operation--not loving it, but I'm getting buy pretty decently.
