The 6s Plus is good for women who carry purses or men who have enormous pockets like male clowns, Karate instructors, parachutists, and fly fisherman.

For everyone else the 6s is the sane choice. The battery life increase is marginal and so is the image quality increase, OIS is essentially irrelevant if you have steady hands. The large size is useless to anybody with an ipad.

Um, it fits in the front pocket of Levi jean. It has fit in all my pant pockets so far without issue. I'm 5'10"

I have 14 hours standby and 6 hours 52 minutes use and 27% left right now. Sorry but your info isn't accurate.

6S plus is easily a managable size. Try it a little longer and you will hate small phones.

I carry a Sony Z3 Compact Tablet as my daily driver. Yes I wear slim fitting tailored suits.

The phablet size is the minimum I would want in a phone. The 8 inch Z3 tablet is the max. It just fits in my inside jacket pocket. It also fits in my trouser pocket for the rare occasion I need to put it somewhere temporarily.

One day I was standing in front of a large mirror in a mall. Saw myself, and thought, "Is this what I looked like walking around with my 6+ everyday? It looks ridiculous."

Purchased a 6S and sold my 6+. The idea of an *mobile* phone became very logical all of a sudden.

Interesting point of view. My first few times walking with the Plus in my pocket, it would stab me on each step. I've got a few more days to decide but I'm not getting a new wardrobe for this :)

The Plus is not meant to be a one handed device. It can be for some, but it was never designed to be. Neither are any other phablets by anyone. It's main purpose is the screen real estate.

But no harm in trying it and finding you like the smaller 6s better.

Agreed. A full year since the launch of the original 6 Plus and people still don't get that it isn't a one-handed device... That is why there is a choice in screen sizes (or even manufacturers for that matter).

Yep, it fits in a pocket but big deal. You cannot bend, squat, kneel etc. Like I said, big deal it fits in a pocket so I'm not sure how some of these folks are managing it otherwise unless all they do all day is stand at attention like a soldier guarding something. :)

That's true but imagine if there was a tweener, say 5.2". Who'd buy the other two? :)

And the current alternative choice for screen size isn't equal with resolution.

The screen and the battery are so nice! I can live without OIS since I don't really utilize it.
Even holding the phone while on a call (I try to use bluetooth as much as possible) was an arduous task.

If I'm understanding this right - you are basically saying the battery life of the 6s+ is over 2x better than the 6s. What are you doing between 9am-3pm that puts you between 20-30%? Considering that's only 6 hours, it seems like you'd have to be on the phone about 4-5 hours using LTE, right? Over the course of a work day, the average person spends what - maybe 1-2 hour on their phone?

Honestly, yes. That's actually pretty much exactly what I'm seeing from my 6s+ when compared to my iPhone 6 (to which I complained about battery life not being all that great when I got it last year on release day). On my 6, if I'm remembering correctly, I would get about 6.5-7 hours of usage with 8-9 hours standby, so I'd say that's pretty heavy use (this was primarily on wifi, actually). On my 6s+ I'm easily hitting 12-13 hours of usage with 16-20 hours of standby, however I'd like to mention that my usage is a little different now that I'm back at school. I'll explain more about this below. But yeah, it's honestly insane. On lighter days where I don't use my phone as much I've even gotten 9 hours of usage (easily could've gotten 10, maybe 11 hours) with 30+ hours of standby and I STILL had 14% left. I could NEVER get anywhere near that with my 6. Also this is without using low power mode at all.

My 9am-3pm time that I was talking about was the shift I worked over the summer. It was an extremely easy job that required me to sit at a desk for the entire shift doing very light work so I used my iPhone 6 nearly the whole time (on wifi) and would go workout on my lunch break which involved me listening to a lot of music for about an hour/hour and a half. By the time I got home at like 3pm I'd be down to 20-30% which would last me until maybe 4-5pm when it would either be nearly dead or at an uncomfortably low percentage (like 5% or so). Things didn't change much when I came back to school, but were slightly better.

I'd wake up for class around 9am, unplug at 9:15-9:30 and get back to my dorm around 3-5pm with ~25% battery. Usage times would hover around ~5.5-6.5 hours with standby being at around 8 hours usually before I plugged in around 6pm. On heavy use days (like the day of the iPhone 6s keynote) my phone was at 15% by 2:30pm. So yeah, not the best battery life. Also, these usage times were with using low power mode a few times, which did help a little bit. In comparison, my 6s+, with the same type of use at school as on my 6 along with same exact settings, apps, etc. (I restored from a backup of my 6) is never below 70% by the time I get back to my dorm. By the time I go to bed (which lately has been 2-3am) it's at like 40% (I use it very heavily once I'm done with class).

So yep, in my case I'm seeing double the battery life of my 6, often times even more than double. Hopefully this clears things up a bit. Sorry for the delayed response/explanation, I've been very busy with school the last few days.

I had an Asus Zenfone 2 which is a 5.5" display, I thought it was pretty big at first but I got used to it.

Whenever I see or hold the iPhone 6s plus, I think it's huge, even though it's also a 5.5" screen. I know the bezel is a bit smaller on the Asus but those fraction of inches really make a difference...

Same with the Note 5, that much easier to handle and then store in a pocket.

I can do all of those things with a Plus in my pocket. It's obviously a large phone but I feel that perhaps some people are exaggerating a bit.

For everyone else the 6s is the sane choice. The battery life increase is marginal and so is the image quality increase, OIS is essentially irrelevant if you have steady hands. The large size is useless to anybody with an ipad.
What about men with purses?
Great that you have the market cornered on sanity. What a relief!
You seem to have a very different idea about the definition of "marginal" than the rest of us. A plus simply crushes a 6 in battery life.
And OIS is surely relevant--steady hands or not. Go shoot some video while in motion on both and report back to us how irrelevant OIS is.

I went back to the 6S and man it's tiny now.
If only the Plus was a tad smaller, everything else about it was great!

I want a 5.5" screen but thinner bezels...I'm guessing Apple wouldn't do that or it wouldn't be proportionate to the regular iPhone 6s

So I bought a 6s Plus last week, but I just can't get used to the size. The phone is simply too big and clumsy in the hand - trying to whip it out quickly and use with one hand requires constant balancing and hand readjustments to reach the entire screen. I end up balancing the phone on my fingers which is a sure fire recipe for drops. When I need to reach the upper 25% of the screen I kinda slide/bounce the phone down in my hand...then slide/bounce it up when I'm done. The reach-ability thing feels like an extra step I'd rather not do - and it just doesn't feel natural on a touchscreen where my thumb wants to reach out and touch what I want without thinking. It's almost impossible to hold the phone up and use it one handed while laying down (like in the recliner while I'm watching TV). Using one hand to check something quickly in the car or messing with maps is just annoying!

Another issue I have is that pulling out the plus is almost a public event rather than a personal matter. The phone is so big that I feel like anyone near me can see what I'm doing. With the 6s you can sorta cuff it in your hand with a secure grip like the easy-to-one-hand 4 or 4s - it's really not that much bigger feeling to me (0.9" taller/0.33" wider/.09" slimmer). The 4.7" has that natural extension of the hand feeling which I feel is essential for a phone. It doesn't feel like it could get away from me. I can't see the 6s being hard to one hand for anyone with at least an average size woman hand.

And what about cases? I'm one of those that like to keep my expensive phone in pristine condition - how do you folks use a 6 plus with a case that adds say 1/4"+ to the width? I only used the plus without a case, but I can't imagine how bulky it must feel with a case that offers decent protection.

I can understand the plus being a tablet substitute for some, but I just don't see it happening for me. I don't have a tablet, but instead of using the plus like one, I'd rather get on my laptop. Phone on the go/killing time and laptop for when I want to get stuff done (like typing up this post). I NEVER used landscape on the plus or any other phone - granted I'm not a gamer.

The 6s takes good enough pictures for me and I'm guessing 90% would never see a difference. I can't see a difference based on what I've seen.

The screens look the same to me.

IMO, the 6s would be the perfect phone if it had a slightly bigger battery. Relative to the Plus, in test I've seen online, the 6s and 6s plus are separated by only an hour or less. That's not really game changing...especially if you always carry a charger in your car.

It was fun 6s+, but tomorrow I'm switching you out for the 6s.

BTW - I'm no tech geek so take it easy on me.

iAgree. I went from a plus to a 6s and the way i can describe it is that the 6s is like an extension of myself. Where a plus is not. The plus requires 2 hands most of the time and full attention where as the 6s is easier to mange and connect with like its apart of you so much so that you can actually multitask and do other things while still holding the phone. its the separation and incorporation that I feel separates the two when figuring out what size is right for who.

i just realized no one has a large phones in films that take place in the future.

Those that have a 6s+ dont read these threads because it will change your mind lol!!

Stick to what works for you. I had a 6+ retrurned and had a 6 and loved it but had 6+ envy. Got a 6S+ now and im happy.

But each time i read a negative thread about 6S+ it starts to make me doubt if i should try a 6S lol

Agreed

I'm been using the 6+ for almost a year, and I absolutely hated carrying it around in my pockets.

So I bought a 6S last week, it makes my pockets very happy. However, while I don't hate the smaller 4.7" screen, I absolutely missed the larger screen of my plus.

Tried going back to my 6+ today, after a week with my 6S. I found that I loved the big 5.5" screen even more, but hated the feeling of it in my pockets also more.

I'm really torn here :(

I have the regular 6 and I do not even put it in my pocket. I have a holster that I can slip the phone into with three different type of cases on it. I discovered that the two TPU cases work well with the holster along with the case that came with the holster. It makes life much easier than putting the iPhone in my pocket.

" Not sure how some of these folks are managing " ? Why not a belt loop case ? Problem solved.

are you like 4" height? I can understand.

Also easier if you don't have a case on it. I took off the case and it's great in the pocket! Still thinner and perceivably lighter than my 4S.
