No, the 8 plus kills the X in battery life.

I'm not so sure that's amazing, my 2 year old 6S+ gets 10-12 hours usage consistently.

For an X which supposedly has a more efficient screen and a bigger battery than an 8+ it's not that good.

Everyone's "Amazing" will be subjective to comparison between their own phone(s) usage .. in my case I can simple compare against my use of 8+ previous to the X and for me its amazing

With very heavy business usage today, bluetooth, wifi, I am at Usage 7hrs 58 min, standby 12 hrs, 16 min.
Not too bad, conserving I had to charge my 7 plus twice atleast...

Mine is subpar for sure as I posted in another thread. They always say using s web based Facebook as opposed to the app helps a lot. I plan to try that tomorrow and see if there is a difference.

My stats. Standby 11 hours 21 mins. Usage 4 hours 23 mins and I’m at 52%

On my 4th or 5th charge cycle since release day. Second day tracking battery. 5 hrs 47 minutes usage, 14 hrs 30 minutes standby - 25% battery left.

I’m really starting to think there’s an issue with my phone. It’s way too low.

Maybe i'm currently on 7 hours usage with 50% left

Of course thats amazing. He's on 37 hours standby as well.

That’s insane. I definitely have a lemon then. I’m going to give it a couple more days and if it doesn’t improve I’m returning. Not pleased with this situation.

Would give it a week to see how things are. Need to give new phone batteries a few weeks at least

Thought it was a few charge cycles for the battery to get calibrated. Issue with waiting weeks is that you only have 14 days to return. Not sure I want to deal with a refurbished phone if I return in a couple of weeks.

Fair point, maybe might be worth taking it in if it's no better.

7-8 hours is the max you'll get from the phone. Anyone getting more is just inflating the usage numbers by listening to audio.

Not really, 1 hour a day max when it comes to audio for me.

I use similar apps. Damn :(

The comparison videos are out from mrwhosetheboss and SuperSaf comparing different facets. I won't keep posting them here. The charging time for the X whether normal or fast charging is very slow.

The X did defeat the 8 Plus and Note8 in battery life. But it only beat the Note8 by about 30 minutes. That's what I meant when I noticed several of my phones used this year had pretty much the same SOT with similar usage. The difference could be only about 30 minutes to an hour.

The Note8 smoked the X in charging time though. My S7e was the same way. In 90 minutes, it was done. My LG G5 and V20 are faster by 15 minutes. My Pixel fast charged the slowest. Whatever results I'm seeing for the 2017 models is similar to my experience using last year's phones.

I saw Mrwhosetheboss do the battery drain test amongst 4 phones. Although it wasn’t necessarily scientific the results were pretty compelling. Would you agree?

I have to say that I was shocked by the iphoneX beating the iPhone 8+. Personally I’ve used both and from my experience it seems the iPhone 8 Plus battery life is a fair bit better the the X.

Youtube videos show the X has better battery. However, Toms Guide revealed the 8 plus has signficantly better battery life. To early to tell for me (I have the X and the 7 Plus). I need to run it for a week or so to get a good idea. Initially, one will play with the new phone more to get use to it, battery needs to calibrate somewhat. etc

I didn’t find this from my experience with the 8+. From day 1, right out of the box the battery life was outstanding.

I am a heavy power user. My 7 plus got me from 4am to 10pm daily with about 5% battery left. My 8 plus in the same scenario 20%. My X, 30+ in less than a week of usage. So my usage could be varied in such a short time. That’s only 2 days of work days. We will see how the rest of the week goes. No doubt the OLED helps.

Watching tons of YouTube videos this weekend, and techie's doing battery drain tests among on the tops phones, iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus, Note 8, OnePlus 5 etc...

One thing they all seem to be showing is that the X gets a good bit better battery life than the 8 Plus. Which I was surprised to see, I though they'd be pretty much the exact same and if anything the 8 plus slightly better, due to the lwoer res screen, and not having all the FaceID cameras activated, etc...but the tests seem to be showing the X getting much better battery life than the 8 Plus.

Sort off topic, but the OnePlus 5 is almost always the battery champion in these videos, which I was a little surprised at. And the iPhone X always coming in second place.

I'm definitely not seeing that. But, I had the sim free 8+ (with Qualcomm), and now have the X AT&T with Intel. I'm wondering if there's a difference there...

Nope. I’m not seeing it either both Qualcomm on Verizon

What ive noticed with the X is on Friday the battery life wasnt good at all really. similar with Saturday day two. Sunday was getting better and Monday seems to be about level with what my 7+ was.
Is nobody noticing battery life improvements over the first few days?
Id give it a week or two. Also, it should improve over these next few updates apple will be running out for these phones im sure.
