This means nothing to me...my results are what matter to me and I am seeing the exact opposite. You don't like the X, we get it. But why continue to bash something because YOU don't like it? Be happy with your phone and move on.

@mazdamiata210 you keep posting the exact same phone arena chart as if it is a be all end all to battery life on the iPhone X. You do realize every use case is different right? All they are doing is running a web script which will never be accurate to how each person uses their phone.

I am a heavy power user. My 7 plus got me from 4am to 10pm daily with about 5% battery left. My 8 plus in the same scenario 20%. My X, 30+ in less than a week of usage. So my usage could be varied in such a short time. That’s only 2 days of work days. We will see how the rest of the week goes. No doubt the OLED helps.

Are you sure your 8 Plus has 15% more battery than the 7 Plus? From my personal experience, my 7 Plus lost about 2 hours of battery life after updating to iOS 11. Did many things fix it. Clean restored using iTunes and set it up as new. It’s still down by 2 hours compared to iOS 10. Maybe the 8 Plus is the same as the 7 Plus back when it was on iOS 10?

This makes a lot more sense from my experience but if you look at the video you'll see the X flat out beat the 8+.

In that video, the X overheated and the processor was throttling. The AnTuTu score is about 50,000 points lower than normal.

It was basically in low power mode, so yes, it would "beat" the 8 Plus in that case. In every other battery test, the 8 Plus outperforms the X.

The non-stop looping tests on YouTube aren't representative because it quickly overheats a phone. Bigger phones can survive the heat so they continue to perform at maximum speed which in turn drains the battery. Small phones throttle down and reduce power consumption.

I had a 7 Plus before the 8 Plus, and the 8 Plus was better with respect to battery life than the 7 Plus. Noticeably different (and my 7 Plus has recently been replaced due to hardware issues so both were “new.”)

Was your 8 Plus better than your 7 Plus while it was on iOS 10? My 7 Plus’s battery life dropped by 2 hours after updating to iOS 11.

I’m getting fantastic battery life - 56% with 6 and half hours usage.

Are you using a lot of audio background apps?
Do you have true tone on?
Do you have background app refresh on? Location Services?

Wondering if any of these affect it. When I'm at 6.5 hours usage the phone is almost dead.

Had Spotify on the way to and from work, streaming over LTE. Max of an hour though.

True Tone, location services and background app refresh all on as normal. Haven’t done anything to try and optimise battery. Will say this is the first day it’s perfomed like this. Last few days haven’t been poor, just not this good.

Well, if you use your phone for watching videos, your X will die sooner (same case for all previous iphones). But if only used for browsing or listening to audio, it will outlast most android phones as it has great standby time.

Thanks for the response. Maybe my battery is taking longer to get calibrated. Will get it some more days.

Battery life is subjective per person for a variety of reason.

Posting that video is meaningless and does not prove anything other than a guy made a video about battery tests.

I get you. That’s the same way I feel when someone makes a thread and says the 8 plus has a better battery period, point blank. Atleast I have sources to back up my argument.

Also as someone that owned the 7 plus I can Agree with the video.

Eh, those “tests” can never replicate real-world usage.

And here we go with the excuses again.

You are full of s**t.

Then prove it.
[doublepost=1510186044][/doublepost]Not a valid test right now. Youtube app has a massive bug that is causing the phones to heat up and burn through the battery fast. I had to uninstall the app from my 8 plus. There is a topic here discussing it with many and on reddit. Seems to be only effecting the 8 plus and older phones.

Here’s another test

No excuses, it’s literal fact that they just run a web script that can never replicate each unique users actual usage patterns. I’m averaging about an hour usage per 10% depleted.

Really? 1 hour of on screen time for 10%? That is amazing, and I highly doubt it.
Sitting at 64% right now. Also, I’m sorry but did I ever say screen on time? Guess what, if you knew iOS, you’d know that metric is not a thing on iOS.

Right and you can't go by the usage then. That was my point. Try on screen time and come back and let us know how long it lasts.

[doublepost=1510187861][/doublepost]Here is mine. Almost like yours, just I have way more battery life left than you and I had Youtube app draining it today so I had to uninstall it (bug, phone got hot after 10 minute youtube video and was killing the battery), but I still have more life left than you.

I will when iOS includes such a stat. To be honest, you care about this way more than I do. I enjoy my phone, go use what you enjoy and quit trying to convince other people their devices suck.

If the X battery were so great, it's hard to believe why Apple wouldn't say so.
