American states seems to be overturning child labour laws in places. Perhaps Apple can rely on child labour to make American iPhones since you can pay children less.

Let freedom ring.
Actually will rely on automation rather than child labor.

What Apple needs to do is start "planning" an iPhone production facility in the United States. Finding a good location and design work will take about 18 months. Dealing with the inevitable lawsuits about its size and effect on the area its planned for another 18 months. Ground is finally broken around June 2028. Unforeseen issues at the site cause construction to deal with numerous pauses. January 20, 2029, Apple pulls the plug on the project.

Of course, if that one special Big Mac finally finds its way to that truly special aortic spot, this project might end a bit sooner.
Ah, yes. Foxconn in Wisconsin 2.0.

The far left narrative from people on this site is soooo annoying.
Far left?? Where? I don’t think you know what far left means…there’s certainly no far left to any extent in the USA.
Tim Cook definitely is not a genius himself, either. In fact, he’s a terrible CEO for Apple. He might be good for a company like PepsiCo, but definitely not for Apple.

Is this the part where we all shout 'nanny state'? Or is that just when the left does it?

(See also: snowflakery, virtue signalling, being cancelled, and all the other culture war clichés they like to trot out while harbouring a huge blind spot to their own vast catalogue of examples)
I guess the free market means Trump demanding “donations” and crypto “investments” in exchange for tariff relief. And unilateral tariffs with no oversight or input from Congress. Who knew?

Trump will not get a 3rd term in office because the business elite will see to that because they are losing billions of $$$ because of the tariffs and Trumps insistence that the business elite move their manufacturing to the US instead of elsewhere. They will make him suffer somehow.

I can only hope so. Better yet….not finishing his second term.

You get what you voted for when you elected a celebrity baboon as president - twice.
I honestly do not think those that voted for Trump ever expected him to go this far.

What we are starting to see is his game plan. How do you get the rest of the world to trade with the US so that the US comes out the better party? You introduce tariffs of course. We have seen when it comes to crises and wars, the world comes to the US for help. When the world struggles for products, it goes to the US. The world needs the US more than the US needs the world. All countries around the world have been extremely worried about these tariffs and how much is it going to hurt their countries economy. He put high tariffs in place so he could work out trade deals with the countries that benefit the US more so than the other country. It has started with the UK and will continue with other countries around the world. We will see Trump visiting many countries offering trade deals. He has suckered the world into giving him, as in the US, what he wants and he did it by introducing tariffs. Now every country is bending over backwards to do a trade deal with the US so they can remove the tariffs.

You may think the man is a celebrity baboon but he is actually a genius because he has found a way to get all of the worlds countries to do what HE wants.

Except when he ignores that 22nd amendment and gets away with it. I don’t think he has any problems with planning and doing exactly that.
Not going to happen; this term is the end of his presidency. It likely won't be the end of his corrupted Republican Party, but not only is he limited in his options, he'll also be 82 years old in 2028. He's done. The real question is if any of his children will run. We can only hope not.

I hope you’re right and time will tell. Yes, his age can become a “problem”.
Children or anyone in his administration…at least as bad.

Trump will destroy the global economy at this rate. He's the only one getting rich with his $400 million jets.
Not too long ago I would have agreed. Not so much now. He's not going to destroy the global economy. He turned the whole world against the US. The whole world is seeing the US as a dictatorship run by an idiot, recruited by the KGB a few decades ago.
If he keeps doing this nonsense, the whole world will abandon the US and make trade agreements elsewhere. Despite what's being taught in US schools (NA education...), the US is not the center of the universe. The dollar will drop in value and be replaced as the "world currency" by some other currency, likely the Euro. If the rest of the world unites (minus Russia and North Korea), the only economy destroyed is in the US. Not saying that it won't have an impact everywhere, but nowhere near what's going to happen in the US.

He won’t get a 3rd term because he’s limited to two per the Constitution.
