Will somebody help me test mine? Everyone I know has an iphone lol and Im the only one with 3.1 itunes 9 and the MMS icon. If you dont mind ill PM my number for a test message. Im a fireman and not some creepy internet dude. Thanks fellow Macrumorians.

Just send a MMS to yourself. That's what I did LOL

Has anyone tested IPCC 5.1 and OS 3.0 WITHOUT getting the stupid multiple text being an MMS bug?

Yes I just sent a multiple text and it went out fine. But then again, I'm in Los Angeles and it seems that I can do MMS with 3.0 OS and IPCC 5.1.

Though I'm still waiting to hear if tethering works with 3.1OS...
I heard MMS does, but I want tethering more than MMS.

Ill test MMS for myself right now in Orange County.

I updated to 3.1, and re-installed the hacked carrier file, 5.1, and now I dont have tethering anymore. Did 3.1 disable tethering altogether, or do i have to stay at 3.0.1 to keep the tethering option?

I live in LA, have 3.01 and Have followed all of the install instructions...

still no MMS for me.

I now have the OPTION of attaching photos to my texts, which was not there before I installed the carrier file, but photos will not send and I cannot receive them from other people that DO have mms.

I also had to reset my visual voicemail, which reset my outgoing VM message.

I tried restarting my phone and changing the settings in my MMS settings and then restarting to:

MMSC: mmsc.cingular.com
Proxy: 66.209.11.32
APN: wap.cingular
Username: wap@cingulargprs.com
Password: CINGULAR1

(which I found on another string on this site)

I also tried resetting my network settings...

...still no dice.

I think that "uanuglyfool"'s family messaging plan answer might be the reason why... I'm all out of ideas.

Anyone else?

iphone 3gs, OS 3.01, Carrier File 5.1

Seconded.

OS 3.0 and carrier 5.1 in orange county with a JB phone not working after network settings reset.

Make sure you reset your phones. Also I have the family unlimited messaging plan not the iPhone messaging one. This is probably why it works for me.

Long Beach, CA
3.0.1 Hacked 5.1 and MMS works great!

I inserted some settings in MMS in network settings and rebooting. Lets see what happens.

Nothing. Going back to carrier 4.0.

just curious

is the process for upgrading the ipcc valid in iTunes 9?

I upgraded to 3.1, no MMS... for those who have MMS working, how do you add a pic to a text message?

Western NY, 3.1 and 5.1 IPCC--No go.

On a family texting plan. I wonder why it works for some and not for others?

3.1 firmware and 5.1 ipccc.

No deal in suburban philly. I have family unlimited messages.

Weird though...It never overwrote the 5.1 ipcc i had before upgrading the firmware. I didn't have to reinstall 5.1

I'm glad it's working for a lot more people than before. :)

For those who still can't get it to work. Hang in there, I have a feeling the whole nation will have MMS active before the 25th. I doubt AT&T is gonna flip a switch specifically on that day.

Argh, the hacked carrier file in this thread seems to have broken my Visual Voicemail.

I'm in Houston, Texas, with 3.1 and the 5.1 ipcc. I have the MMS icon but the messages fail every time. I've reset twice but it's still a no go. Oh well. I can wait a little while longer, haha.

Oh, I have the family messaging plan, too.
