Are you done making stupid and baseless assumptions about me based off of one post? I haven't used anything resembling a CD with any of my computers for years and am fully aware that many people don't use them anymore. Like I said I don't ever plan to use Parallels so I didn't further research anything beyond what was said on the little CD packet provided.

Is that clear enough?

Little CD packet provided? I have never seen Parallels on CD...

Prime has nothing to do with sales tax or not. All dependent io the state you are in.

If you use amazon a lot, then prime is a great thing. Free 2 day shipping, that usually comes in 1 day and no sales tax :)

Also, if you are a student or order online b.c they do not verify the information you save $50 on the 13" air so it becomes a wash (through apple).

Well I also ordered via macmall and according to them if they do not have a retail presence in your state they do not charge sales tax.

I never said it did. I said from a shipping price standpoint it is easily worth it if you order a lot.

Abso-damn-lutely! I'm in Afghanistan and Prime has save me so much $$ in shipping it's unreal! There's also the added plus that their shipments arrive in my hands in 5-7 days after the order is placed.

Given all that, I'm still going to order from B&H. I'm a Windows/Cisco engineer & running Parallels is a must for me. Free shipping, no tax & save at least $50 on Parallels (Amazon Prime price) is just awesome!

WOW! I seriously did not know that about B&H....free shipping and free parallels!

I'm not sure why you're going ballistic over this, it's only making you look worse relative to age.

The majority of software that I have purchased over the years came with a product key. Even if Parallels came with a CD/DVD, it would still come with a product key, which could be applied to a downloadable version of the software.

What you're actually buying (or receiving in this case if you buy B&H) is the product key, not some plastic disc. Unless you have never purchased physical software before, or the software you did buy didn't have product keys, this is a fairly reasonable assumption to make.

I live 30 minutes from NH so I usually buy refurbs at apple.com and have them shipped to the NH apple store. no tax. :)

But they don't have any BTO to ship yet :(

I decided to splurge on the i7, so ordered with B&H anyways despite the necessary wait. Sadly, their ETA for shipping (for my order) is 7-10 days.

Does anyone here have an earlier shipping estimate or receive their new MBA from B&H?

I actually just called B & H because I wanted the 13.3" i5, 8GB Ram, 512GB SSD and all they had with that big an SSD was with an i7.

They said they'd special order it through Apple for me so I could avoid the tax & give me Parallels for free! They also said it'd take Apple 2-4 days to ship it to them & then they'd send it right out to me. I love those guys!

Edit: So in reality, you can BTO with them.

Damn it! I also forgot to mention - B & H only charges $179 for AppleCare on the MacBook Air! Regular price is $249 and even my student discount it's still $183.

Do you think you might be able to help expedite the shipping date on my order by talking to B&H on my behalf? :)

Probably not dude! The rough part for me is this: B & H has to wait 2-4 days for Apple to ship, then prob another 2 days for B & H to get it. Then, since I'm in Afghanistan and neither Apple nor B & H will ship to an APO, they have to send it to APO Box (1-2 days) and then APO Box processes it (1 day) then ships it to me in Afghanistan (5-7 days).

So I'll probably get mine 11-16 days after I order it.

Good to know, anyone know do I have to call? Anyone try web order this way?

Price check on a 11 air with 8GB memory, 1.3 ghz 128 GB SSD + AppleCare +

Without student discount or other discounts, I ran up some prices with B&H and MacMall. Even though B&H price on the applecare + was $179.00 compared to MacMall's $249.00, MacMall price on a 2013 model 11 inch Air was $68.82 lower than on B&H offering.

Do a side by side comparison price prior to the purchase

I'm not sure what models you compared, I think you may have missed a spec or something. All models I checked are within $5 of each other. The base model 11.6" are the exact same price. Factor in cheaper AppleCare and free Parallels (if you need it) & it can't be beat.

Here you go... $68.00 difference

Uh...you compared an 11.6 from MacMall with a 13.3 from B&H. Also, there was some $32.82 discount you're getting on MacMall. I've included revisions to your screen caps below, noting the differences.
So even with the discount, B & H only costs $68 more for the 13" model. You're not making your case very well! :D

I went ahead and did an "Apple to Apple" (sorry, couldn't resist) comparison of two base model 13" Airs. As you can see, same computer, same AppleCare warranty - B & H is $69 cheaper AND they give you a free copy of Parallels 8.

Yup, just ordered from B&H, same config as yours: 13"/i5/8GB/256GB...was going with 128GB, but found out that 256 SSD write speed is twice as fast as 128SSD...
