Considering where I live, my parents decided it would be a good idea to get me a car. I'm completely grateful that they were going to give it to me as my birthday and christmas present... Until I go to college. STILL, just wanted to let you know that when you take your driving classes, do it as soon as possible. I live in Texas and don't know how the laws and regulations might be in your state, but it's one of the most tedious things you're ever going to do.

Also, like users have said, take into consideration the costs of maintenance.

I turned 16 a couple of months ago, so yeah :D

Know what. I'm simply going to get to the used car place and choose one. There is no use looking for a car online as once I find one, it might not be on sale when I go. As for the driving classes, I plan on taking them around over the summer. Depending on the price :) I can't wait to drive!! As long as I have something to get me from point A to B and isn't all that ugly, I'm good. I really wouldn't mind a Pontiac G5. Cheap, affordable, not that bad. I'm not sure about the maintenance or repair cost but I still have a while to figure all that out. I want to thank you all for your advice, and those who feel like I was trying to brag, you have it all wrong. Sorry if you felt that way.

Keep this thread going if you'd like. I will always check up on this and really hope seeing more posts with some more advice :) and we can talk bout other stuff.

so to summarize this thread up: useless

BTW there is no such thing as a 2005 Pontiac G5, its called a Pontiac Pursuit, they didn't call it the G5 till late 2006.

I'm starting to think he started this thread only to brag, so far he has taken none of the advice we offered, and he has his heart set on a car already.

Completely agree with the bolded statement.

He completely ignored my posts stating one of the most practical, nice, reliable, inexpensive, 4-door, sporty cars (exactly what he wants!).

You're a year away from getting a car. A YEAR. It's longer than you wanna think, bub. Stop caring about what car you're going to get. Learn to drive first, then care.

EDIT: I just realized this user made a profile only three days ago. All his posts are on this thread. Why the hell did you join MACRUMOURS to just to make a thread about your "first car"?

About the edit. I seach google for 'Best car to get a 16 year old' and it landed on a post on here. So that's why I decided to make one on here as well. Btw, really no point of showing off. I don't know anyone so there's really no point for me to brag. Which car did you say again?

Infinity G20.

I looked around, and it's actually a nice car. I don't exactly like the part that it's manual but it will do. Nice, Affordable, and its Infinity. It also looks like a Mitsubishi Lancer some what. Anyways. Thx
