It gets worse... Infinite boot loop on this one, had to DFU / Restore!

I guess I've been lucky. My 5s is rock stable on beta 3.

Here is a list of Cydia apps and tweaks I have currently installed and working on my 5s on iOS 7 Beta 3:
Action Menu
Activator
Barrel (You need to spoof 7.0.4 to purchase, then switch back to spoofing 7.1)
Bigify+
BiteSMS
Bloard
CallBar (still needs an update to allow landscape orientation while on a call)
HiddenSettings7
iCleaner Pro
Iconoclasm
iFile
Infinidock
Nitrous
NoAnnoyance
NoPageDots7
PredictiveKeyboard
QuickClear
StatusBarFix2
StatusModifier
SwipeSelection
SwitchSpring

Still not working:
MultiIconMover
DockShift
BlurredMusicApp

Workaround

It gets worse... Infinite boot loop on this one, had to DFU / Restore!

I have an iPhone 5S and was getting the infinite loop problem, but i found a "solution".

1.First copy the .plist info and paste it on notes.
2.Then Make the modifications to spoof 7.0.4
3.Get out of iFile and DO NOT TURN OFF THE DEVICE.
4.Close Cydia From Multitasking and Launch it again.
5.Voila! You can Purchase all the tweaks with 7.1 restrictions.
6.When you finish buying what you want, go to notes copy the original plist data and replace the modified one.

The trick is just not to turn off the iPhone... respringing it do not triggers the infinite loop logo bug... Also rebooting with home & sleep buttons do not causes the infinite loop, so you're safe doing that.

Boot loop for me too, on mini retina 7.1 b3

My 5S also loop with beta 2, but is ok with beta 3 with evasion 1.0.2 manually modified. No time to test new evasion version but on my ipod 4G it was given loop with beta3 and last version of evasion ;(:rolleyes:

I'll test them tomorrow - I have all the HDMI and VGA adapters, both Lightning and 30-pin.

Tested it.

Unfortunately, b2/b3 indeed doesn't at all support the Lightning HDMI adapter. It displays the following error message upon connecting the adapter:

(original: http://www.flickr.com/photos/33448355@N07/11967960084/

While, under 7.0.4, the adapter is properly recognized. A screenshot of General > About, with the adapter listed at the bottom:

Under b2/b3, the adapter isn't even listed there.

And this is the detailed view (again, in 7.0.4 only):

This applies to both b2 and b3, both with JB and without. With JB, I've tested the fully spoofed 7.1b3 -> 7.0.4 spoofed case too, in addition to the non-spoofed one. It didn't help either.

Incidentally, it's worth noticing Apple haven't released a single firmware update for the HDMI adapter ever since it has been released - that is, for 1.5 years. Hope they won't completely abandon it. That would be disastrous for many Apple fanboys defending the inferior quality of the adapter by stating it surely will be fixed in future updates. An example of these fanboy (in this case, he's "gaussian blur") Lightning-HDMI- and Apple-defending posts, from DPReview, is at http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/52607824

Anybody noticed the vga or hdmi adapters don't work in beta 2-3 ? :(

Just posted an answer - see above.

Edit: HomescreenDesigner works as well but you have to have iconoclasm installed.

Hey guys, I have an iPhone 5S running the latest beta and normally when I had installed a tweak to change the grid size layout, it won't work due to iconsupport being incompatible with b1, b2, and b3.

At that point I tried contacting all three developers that made the tweak and they said that they won't update it for the beta, because its a beta. Which is understandable and I respect their decision.

Since this was a major downfall for me I went under a little investigation which resolved in me discovering a method that works!

1. I installed both iconsupport and Iconoclasm (paid for)
2. Then went into iCleaner Pro, press the "+" key on the bottom left, then pressed on "MobileSubstrate Addons" and scrolled down till I reached "IconSupport".
3. I then hit the toggle to disable it, needing a respiring to take effect, then after that it works flawlessly!

I tried couple different layouts and all of them work fine. Tested with two iPhone 5S' running 7.1b3.

**I tried using this method with HomescreenDesigner (paid for) and it still doesn't work at all. It just gives you four icons on the top row per page and no changes will take effect.

So far my phones been running normal with it disabled for acouple of hours now.

Thought I would share it with you guys, I hope this helps you guys out!

Edit: I just tried rebooting my phone and the layout has stayed the same.

Been searching for a good while for a fix for anything related to IconSupport. Thank you good sir. You are the man.

All of them (a1388 (HDMI), a1422 (HDMI), a1368 (VGA)) work flawlessly. (Tested on spoofed 7.1b3 iPad 3.)

See above - all is OK with 30-pin devices, as opposed to Lightning ones.

Wow that is very curious. Didn't expect that. Thanks again.

Would that mean it would work on a lightning device using the lightning to 30 pin adapter?

Nope. The Lightning adapter can't drive the "old" 30-pin video adapters, not even with previous iOS versions. We'll need to wait for Apple to fix this. (Nevertheless, I myself downgraded my iPhone 5 to 7.0.4 because of this issue. I don't want NOT to be able to use my HDMI adapter in the next, say, one year, assuming the first 7.1 version to support the adapter is no longer JB'able.)

(Actually, Lightning is pretty much messed up. Its sub-par performance is pretty much a disgrace for Apple - they've implemented it in a pretty bad way, while much superior solutions (e.g., SlimPort) were readily available at the time of the development. This is also one of the reasons it requires an active, external video stream decoder to drive an external monitor, as opposed to the old 30-pin adapter.)

I hear you for sure. I haven't purchased an iOS video adapter yet so I'll likely let my pad be on 7.1b3 considering I have mhl adapter for my gs4. I read that post you linked previously on that a/v forum - it's pretty funny how that guy blindly defends lightning and ignores the downgrade with respect to video out.

Good info to know, cheers.

Guys,

so it is 100% possible to remove the expiration and use the b3 as a "normal" release for everyday?

I already was on 7.0.4 as I didn't want any slight hiccup to go wrong with the expiry. Even though that seems like it will work, I am glad I went down now because of this. No way would I have been happy with no HDMI out for however long this JB is going to last. I would have been extremely annoyed had this not been discovered before JB fix and I was on a beta

In 7.1b2 and b3, is anyone getting a weird bug with the keyboard?

When you open safari or weather, bring up the keyboard by entering web address or searching for city (weather).

If you switch keyboards between letters, numbers, and symbols, the go button will turn to black and blue randomly.

Is anyone else getting this? (I'm on an iPhone 5 CDMA btw).

I even get this on a clean install.

Has anyone been able to fix this bootloop when removing the expiration on the 5s?

So far I suffer from it and its the only thing that has kept me from keeping the jailbreak...

Doesn't happen on b3 so if it's irritating you (like it did for me) and you want to stay on betas upgrade to b3 now and re-jailbreak.

:)

Top tip:

iLexRat appears to still work on iOS 7.1b3 as a 'semi restore' of iOS and the good news is that it doesn't remove the plist changes you make for beta expiry so should be still available to us as a last resort if loading up on tweaks etc breaks your device to point you need to restore - this will be important when 7.1 b3 expires and 7.0.4 is officially updated to 7.1 etc.
