Got a slight off-topic question - what does the reboot cycle look like for anyone else with an iPhone 5s jailbroken on 7.1?

My iPad mini retina boots completely normally but iPhone 5s does a weird cycle where it starts boot, then Apple logo flashes off and it starts boot again (sometimes does this three or four times, sometimes none) before it then reboots. I've tried complete restore and rejailbreak many times and effect is always the same.

I reinstalled the evasi0n 7 untether in Cydia and it made it better but just wondering if anyone else has this before I do another complete restore but set up as new phone. It does work, just a little bit annoying I guess and can't understand why it works fine on my 64 bit iPad mini but not as perfectly on my 5s.

Did find this on jailbreakqa.com so other people are apparently seeing this but they obviously don't like to talk about betas on there so closed it:

Did you solve the Problem? Now evasi0n 1.0.3 is out, maybe running it over the Jailbreak helps?

Edit: HomescreenDesigner works as well but you have to have iconoclasm installed.

Hey guys, I have an iPhone 5S running the latest beta and normally when I had installed a tweak to change the grid size layout, it won't work due to iconsupport being incompatible with b1, b2, and b3.

At that point I tried contacting all three developers that made the tweak and they said that they won't update it for the beta, because its a beta. Which is understandable and I respect their decision.

Since this was a major downfall for me I went under a little investigation which resolved in me discovering a method that works!

1. I installed both iconsupport and Iconoclasm (paid for)
2. Then went into iCleaner Pro, press the "+" key on the bottom left, then pressed on "MobileSubstrate Addons" and scrolled down till I reached "IconSupport".
3. I then hit the toggle to disable it, needing a respiring to take effect, then after that it works flawlessly!

I tried couple different layouts and all of them work fine. Tested with two iPhone 5S' running 7.1b3.

**I tried using this method with HomescreenDesigner (paid for) and it still doesn't work at all. It just gives you four icons on the top row per page and no changes will take effect.

So far my phones been running normal with it disabled for acouple of hours now.

Thought I would share it with you guys, I hope this helps you guys out!

Edit: I just tried rebooting my phone and the layout has stayed the same.

This man made my day on reddit last night with this information.

Isn't after tomorrow the day we see if anything happens to beta 1 with modified plist?

I suspect nothing will happen :D

Yes, or maybe the day after just to be safe

I'm assuming that tomorrow being actual expiry date that's probably the last valid day and that Tuesday is going to be real test.

To clarify, I have an iPhone 4 set to test this with following configuration:

- installed 7.1 b1 (can visibly still see the switch to change to dark keyboard that got removed in b2)
- jailbroken using evasi0n 7
- modified SystemVersion.plist to remove the 'ReleaseType' key, changed ProductBuildVersion to 11B554a and changed ProductVersion to 7.0.4 (so basically spoof the device as iOS 7.0.4)

Fingers crossed it's still working on Tuesday - I'll post back here when I get the chance...

Cool, I look forward to hearing the results! Depending on how it comes out, I will be upgrading to one of the betas!

Deleted as to not give apple any future ideas for policing.

Hopefully it works!

But was he jailbroken and changed the plist file? Otherwise his conundrum is like oranges compared to our apples.

No he wasn't, but it tells us that beta 1 has expired. So we should now be able to tell whether or not the plist changes work for beta 1.

Please, I am sorry if this has been answered- what is the iFile set of numbers needed to change beta 3 for compliance?

Page 4 has the beta 2 but I couldn't locate for beta 3.

(And, I assume it is the same procedure as laid out on page 4?)

Just do the same thing for beta 3, that's spoofing it to 7.0.4 anyways.

OK cool so still working fine :)

Works fine with sync in iTunes too!

Here's 'proof' if you need it...

Guess that means we're all good. Will try again tomorrow and then set same phone up to test b2 expiry...
