Hmm, I wonder if the ssl fix is in the betas. It seems important. In the days of jailbreakme.com cydia included fixes to the exploit with its own patch. Maybe they do that here? I really don't want to go down to 7.0.6

I'm pretty certain the fix isn't in 7.1b 1-3. It doesn't look like a complicated fix (from what I've seen on twitter) - not saying the issue isn't serious, just the fix isn't massive. Therefore, if they knew about/ fixed it in b 1 - 3...why would it not have been included in 7.0.5?

Good point.

My iP5 is on 7.1b3 (with the required adjustments described on page 4 in play).
Just this morning iTunes offered me 7.0.6

This leads me to believe the spoof to '7.0.4' is working.

What are you talking about?

iTunes thinks you're on 7.0.4 so it wants you to upgrade to 7.0.6. It does that every firmware. Beta 3 already expired so you wouldn't be able to use your phone if it didn't.

I figured out a way to get to 7.1 beta 1,2,3 on my iPhone 5C.

1. Restore to a CLEAN iOS 7.0.4
2. Change date to Jan. 6 and turn off auto time
3. Open iTunes and press update
4. Sit Back & Relax
5. Unplug device when update is finished
6. Activate iPhone
7. Jailbreak
8. Install iFile and change SystemVersion to 7.0.4 and remove beta section
9. Restore date back to current date!
10. Enjoy Jb'ed device!!

Cheers!!!!

And if cydia gives you errors change the date to Feb. 9 so you can DL ifile.

Doesn't work for me, itunes gives me 3194 error everytime. Tried with a fresh install of itunes on a new computer, samething. Shift + click update 7.1 b3

does it mean Apple isn't signing beta 3? how did you guys get it installed post expiration?

It seems either Apple closed the loophole in 7.0.6 or they stopped signing it.

Just anecdotal evidence this tweak works.
(It is a positive comment.)

Did you try with a version of iTunes other than the latest version?

I also highly doubt the ssl bug is fixed in any of the 7.1 betas. My guess is the next beta will fix it in them. But apple didn't rush to release it (to my knowledge) because they are just betas and people aren't expected to run them as their primary iOS.

I've tried with 11.1.3 and 11.1.4 on Windows 7 and 8. All gave me 3194 error. I'm believing they stopped signing 7.1 beta 3 since 7.06 release.

Well I hope someone can write a ssl patch through cydia because I can't bring myself to downgrade from the betas

Edit: Ryan petrich has pushed a patch to cydia! Yay!

Passes test from front page news story on 7.1b3

Sweet thanks will install on b2!

Just to let you guys know that the SSL tweak does not work for applications that run as root. Such as Cydia, iMessage and such. So iCloud logins on the device are not protected also; putting your Apple ID at risk!

Source?

well that's annoying...

After finding the method to properly remove expiry and also the first method to restore betas after they had expired, I hadn't counted on SHSH signing for b3 being closed so suddenly.

Was testing out 7.0.6 on my main device and got caught out so no more beta jailbreak for me :(

At least my iPad mini is still on b3

Only applications tha run as root are unprotected, which I believe can only be cydia apps. Yes there are some caveats to the patch.

Root apps and safe mode are unprotected. I believe iMessage and apple stuff remains protected by this patch( if you aren't in safe mode)

I doubt Ryan would bother if his patch did not effect Apple ID related items/ mail etc..
