Turn both on ? And keep the display setting at 4k SDROfficial release available now.
What are the best settings to utilise automatic switching?
Turn both on ? And keep the display setting at 4k SDR
Is there a theoretical chance that they will re-encode their mix of DD+ soundtrack, but pass the metadata stream out unchanged? Needs to be re-synced, to be usable, though. However I have a horrible feeling they're going to try and re-encode the ATMOS on the ATV.

So if i turn on both and leave it @ 4K SDR --- any movie that is 4K HDR will automatically play @ 4K HDR correct?
Also what does it do to 1080/720p content eg tv shows?

Apple might have been right I don’t think I like my tv going dark when I hit play or stop a movie even if is just a second
I’ll have to get use to it
And I can’t really tell the difference with frame rate matching on and off , I know is working cause the screen goes dark when I hit play for a second with it on
Just turn the option back to its default off position if you don’t like it?

I had some issues with Baby Driver drifting (heh) out of sync. Stopping and starting from the same part seemed to fix it. I use an HDMI audio extractor to grab the audio before it reaches the TV however and that might be the cause. When turning on frame rate switching with my LG C7 and Denon x1300, I get a very slight lag with audio (lip sync issues). When turning it off, it looks fine. Anyone else having these issues?
Yep. Had the same issue. New 65" LG C7P OLED, Netflix plays Dolby Vision HDR perfectly, Amazon Prime plays HDR-10 perfectly. But none of my iTunes Movies would play any HDR formats (the movie info indicated HDR/DV and the movie itself plays, but without HDR, with no indication of it being off). Quick Start: Off (Settings > Apps > iTunes Movies and TV Shows > Quick Start) was the culprit. I have to think this is a bug since if anything, having this setting Off should ensure maximum quality.I was having that issue too. Check to make sure Quick Start is enabled. I had it disabled and that was the issue on my end.
It may be like this by design. Having it off would cause local buffering of the content on your aTV, that the copyright owners may not want to happen.Quick Start: Off (Settings > Apps > iTunes Movies and TV Shows > Quick Start) was the culprit. Perhaps. But at the very least the setting is under labeled or mislabeled. There's no indication that setting would have any effect on HDR at all (I'd argue the current description actually indicates the opposite, that turning Quick Start Off should result in the best possible quality, where in reality it degrades quality) and I think that's something people need to know. A lot of people aren't even going to realize what they're missing. Ultimately that's bad for Apple since people who watch SDR content that should be HDR or DV will see it as dull-looking in comparison to the same content played on competitor's boxes or televisions that presumably have HDR modes properly enabled. I filed a bug report on it.It may be like this by design. Having it off would cause local buffering of the content on your aTV, that the copyright owners may not want to happen.
I understand, it is about the same level of paranoia as encrypting HDMI signal.
I'm running iOS 11.2.5 Beta 5 and tvOS 11.2.5 beta 5 and I can no longer use my iPhone as a keyboard for my Apple TV, I get the prompt but nothing I type is transferred over to the Apple TV.
Anyone else getting this?
