just install the .deb in your iPad
Works for me iPad 2 16Gb WiFI 4.3.3
Thanks for this! Working for me on an iPad v1, 3G, 64 GB, iOS 4.3.3.
The other is, the only reason I was looking forward to this app was the promise of expanded channels. (They say 101 channels are now available; the old version had about 60.) The Interactive program guide, channel tuning and DVR Management features (all of which are new with 2.0) require a compatible cable box or DVR, and I'm using a TiVo Premiere, which doesn't qualify, so I don't personally care much about those (Fortunately TiVo's own iPad app works just fine for this.)

There is also a ready-to-do patched .ipa file on reddit:
http://www.reddit.com/r/ipad/comments/ijgmg/heres_the_bypass_for_the_twc_applications/
It has no App Store metadata associated with it, which means it doesn't require iTunes Store authorization (you do need to install "AppSync" as mentioned) and also that iTunes and the Store won't nag us when updates come out (updates which very well could have new anti-jailbreaking code in them.) That's helpful.
The .deb file from "crossingman" on the other hand, patches our own installed copy of TWCable TV 2.0, so no "AppSync" needed.
It's easily installed by placing the file inside /var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall (create the folder if it doesn't exist) and then restarting and respringing. Since this package is managed by Cydia, one hopes it'll be updated if/when the TWCable app is updated and needs a new patch. Folks who choose this method might still choose to rename its iTunesMetadata.plist file, and sync that back to their iTunes, simply to avoid being nagged/screwed up again by some future update to this app.
crossingman's later tweets indicate he also tried to disable the app's proxy detection.

(He doesn't have the means to test it out, though.) Theoretically, if his patch works, this would mean we could connect to our home network via VPN/proxy and be able to use the app (since it would be tricked into thinking it was on the same LAN as our authorized TMCable modem.) I will have to experiment with that to see if it works. Being able to use this app from someone else's WiFi, or 3G, would be pretty fantastic. Fingers crossed it works...
All that said, I now have version 2.0 installed, and working on my jailbroken iPad v1. Very happy about that. I have two issues with this app, though. One small, and one big. The first is, it's annoying that the menu bar never goes away, when watching its video in full screen. I tried to manually hide the menu bar using "SBSimplify," but apparently that doesn't work in iOS 4 (it keeps crashing me into safe mode.) I'm not aware of other ways/tweaks to hide this menu bar. I do note this menu bar's presence was the same with the 1.0 version; I'm surprised TWC hasn't gotten enough complaints to let it hide after a few seconds. Not a huge deal though. Just slightly annoying.

These pages list the 100+ channels that should now be available:

And yet, even when running the 2.0 version of this app, I'm still only getting access to the same 60 I had from before. I actually went through the list with both the 1.0 and 2.0 versions, and note that the channels available hasn't changed. Here's the current breakdown I am seeing:

I know others have mentioned the same "missing" channels with the newly updated app. Now I don't know if it's got something to do with the jailbreak (or these patches,) or something else on TWC's end, or my TWC account. But missing 40 channels, regardless of how lame they may be, is a significant issue for this app. If nothing changes in this regard I personally may as well just revert back to the "safer" 1.0 version of the app.
I am pretty sure that in the past, new channels were made available to us (and also removed, in the case of MTV and other Viacom properties) without us having to update the app.
So I am wondering if perhaps TWC just hasn't "flipped the switch" on their end yet to allow these new channels for everyone, on either version of the app. I guess the first step is to start asking around to see if someone with a non-jailbroken iPad, and version 2.0 of this app, is actually now getting access to all 101 of these channels. If they're not getting it either, we'll just have to wait and see. A buddy of mine with a non-jailbroken iPad v2 is coming over tomorrow, so I'm going to install the TWC app with my login credentials and see what channels I can access.
There are lots of ways (some mentioned above) but my favorite is this:
Step 1: Open your SSH/sFTP program of choice, and connect to your iDevice
Step 2: Go to /var/root/Media/
Step 3: Create a folder valled "Cydia" (if one doesn't already exist)
Step 4: go in to the folder "Cydia" and create a folder called "AutoInstall" (if one doesn't already exist)
Make sure the names are exactly how they are shown here.
Step 5: copy any DEB or .deb files into this /var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall folder
Step 6: reboot the iDevice
Step 7: once rebooted, now respring your iDevice
The packages now will be installed, and can be managed/uninstalled via Cydia.
hi, can the twc app used by unsubscribed user of tw tv ?
No. I have TW cable internet but no TW TV and I cannot log in to the app using my TW internet id and pass. I am gonna try my parents account and see if it works at my house (we are in the same city.)
@Fofer
I have a non-jail broken ipad2 and installed the new app. I'm only getting 84 channels. Haven't gone through the entire list to compare but one funny one right off the top I'd YNN Austin. I'm in Austin, would have thought I would get it.
Gotcha. This makes the most sense. In my area/case, it looks like most of the missing channels are in the "Choice Tier." I think what I will do is call TWC and add that tier (pretty sure they charge you a prorated rate for whatever days you keep it) and I will see if they become accessible to me in the 1.0 and 2.0 versions of the app. That would settle the question. I'll report back.According to TWC, you should only be able to receive channels that normally appear in your local TV lineup. So if XYZ-TV is not in your local lineup, but it's listed as an iPad channel, you should not get it.
@Fofer
The other thing I do not have is the DVR management stuff. It tells me I have nothing on my DVR box nor does it give ne ant options to record/manage my recordings.
After reading their (TWC) page I conclud that perhaps they rushed this app out before it was complete.

I tried this using ifile on my iPad 4.3.3 and I followed this step by step and after the respiring I don't see the app installed on my springboard...could there be a missing step I'm missing? Thanks
This .deb file is not an app you would see installed on your springboard. It's more like an invisible helper file that allows your already-installed version of TWCable TV (2.0) to launch, even if your iPad is jailbroken. You would see it installed in Cydia, however (even though you didn't explicitly use a repo or the Cydia UI to install it.)
I recall you posting you were having problems installing your own authorized copies of apps from the App Store. At least, that happened with the older 1.0 version of the TWCable app, right? Is that still the case with the 2.0 version? If so, you're having bigger Store downloading issues that don't have anything to do with this app. I suspect you'll have issues downloading/installing *anything* from the App Store. As I mentioned earlier, try deauthorizing and then reauthorizing (these commands are under iTunes' "Store" menu.) Log into the iTunes Store, and click your logged-in username (in the upper right) and make sure everything looks fine with your account and payment options. Then, go back into the store and "buy" a free song or app. (Any one... it doesn't matter.) Finally, sync that new "purchase" over to your iPad. If that works, then at least we know you don't have some larger authorization issue to worry about. If it doesn't work, let us know where you hit a snag and maybe we can help you sort it out.
On the other hand, if you just want to install a patched version of the TWCable 2.0 app, one that isn't tied to any iTunes Store account, then you'd need to install "AppSync" first on your iPad, and then install the .ipa file that oakland6980 linked to above into iTunes, and then sync it over. That should also work fine, and basically sidesteps any iTunes Store authorization issues you may be having. Note that if you choose to go this route, you could uninstall that .deb file, via Cydia, as that's sing a different strategy to patch your own authorized copy of the TWCable TV app.)
If if were me though, I'd be more concerned about sorting out your iTunes Store authorization issue, as that wlll not only affect you with your own previously downloaded files, but anything new you try to install legitimately in the future. Good luck! Keep us posted.
It worked once I reinstalled the v2 tw app from the app store, thanks!
Now how cool would it be if we could use it away from home! <I wish>

Note what I wrote above:
Sometime later this week/end I am going to try and set up a home proxy/VPN and then connect to that from the road (WiFi and/or 3G) and see if I can get this to work.
If anyone else wants to try, and has suggestions for me (what proxy/VPN server to install on my Mac, or what VPN client to install on my iPad, let me know!)

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)
I would suggest you submit that patch to the Big Boss repo so more people can get it.
http://thebigboss.org/hosting-repository/submission/
Here's how I did it: it was VERY simple, and I'm untethered--
I'm using a Dropbox account, the Dropbox iPad app, and iFile.
1. Download the deb file to your PC and then move it into Dropbox
2. Quit Cydia on your iPad if it's running
3. Open the Dropbox iPad app
4. Select the deb file in the Dropbox app, and touch the arrow icon (Open In...) in the top right of the screen. You'll get a pop that says Open In... and select iFile in the list.
5. iFile will open and you'll see the deb file there. A pop will auto open in iFile. Select Installer from the list. The file will install and you're done!
After that, I opened the TWC app and it works perfectly!
