I use echofon now and love it...Twitter's new app will have to have every feature possible for me to switch. I've used Twitbird for a while, twittelator, and Twit pro (which is horrible). all had some features, but they were missing something...let's see if Twitter gets themselves right. :)

Note: No app yet, btw...

I also love Echofon, but I think I'm ready for something new.

Twitter didn't buy the rights to Tweetie for Mac. Atebits is still privately developing it in house.

Wrong.

One more from me. People have been asking for specific details around
Tweetie for Mac and I wanted to make sure we clearly message our plans
as we know it. To be clear, Tweetie for the iPhone and it's developer,
Loren Brichter, were the focus of our acquisition, but as part of the
deal we also got Tweetie for Mac.
Loren had been hard at work on a new version of Tweetie for Mac that
he was going to release soon. Our plan is to still release the new
version and it will continue to be called Tweetie (not renamed to
Twitter). We will also discontinue the paid version.
Hope that's clear. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Best, Ryan

Weird. I haven't seen the update in the store yet on my phone. I hope this at least has push or something to make it a worthwhile update. If it's simply a rebranding with ads or something, I'll pass on it. I have no interest in crap like that.

It's not available in the US store yet. It's still propagating through iTunes's global infrastructure.

I am pretty sure it will have ads. Twitter has to find a way to make money somehow.

its weird i never used tweetie but ive never been this anxious for a app to come out since bejivee with push lol.

Twitter Showing in my iTunes App

I just went to check "My App Updates" and there is the Twittie 2 icon with the Twitter name. It says that it is currently not available in the US Store. I am assuming it will go live soon. I hope they have an iPad version.

I'll only tolerate the ads if the app has push implementation.

However, once this and beejive comes out for the ipad, the device will finally be complete.

If you all will remember, Opera for iPhone did the same thing the night it was released. It eventually came online around 9-10PM EST.

its showing up in the iTunes store now too. but when i click twitter inc, it gives me no results.

It's in my Que, but won't let me download it just yet.

I HOPE this has Themes back in it, from the original Tweetie...

Anyone have access to it yet? Engadget is reporting that its being slowly rolled out right now.

Here here! Beejive is amazing, the only thing that could possibly be better would be a dedicated iChat app built in by apple. but seeing as there might be video conferencing in the 4G that might happennn!!!!!!!!!! i really hope so

It's showing up as an update to Tweetie 2 for me, but it says the item is no longer available when I try to update, so...soon!
