Tweetie 2 Disappears, Official Twitter Application Imminent?

It won't matter. You can only use it in its current form until the end of June. Twitter is changing the login process at that time. All other apps will have to be updated at that time, meaning Tweetie 2 will no longer work.

I've been using echofon (I paid $5 for it back when it was Twitterfon), but then they changed the name and F-ed up a bunch of the features. The ratings plummeted from 5 stars to like 2 stars. When the new Twitter app comes out, I'm definitely downloading it to my iPhone and giving it a good test; hoping it's better and I can let my echofon app fade away, and then delete it after a month or two of inactivity.

It's showing up in my updates too. I get the same problem everyone else has experienced when I actually try to download it.
I thought it would have an official Twitter icon as opposed to the same Tweetie 2 icon. Oh well.

I have twitter sitting in my updates screen but am unable to actually download it just says the item is no longer available
I'm excited for this but right now i use echofon on my iPhone and Mac, and the one feature I love now and must have, is the effortless sync ability. I can be on my Mac, then leave and check my iPhone echofon later on in the day and it automatically knows my last unread tweet. To me this is a really nice feature. I'm not sure if i wanna live without it yet.

It's been in the updates since last night. Rumor was that it was going to be active at midnight but that wasn't the case.
Tweetie 1 is going to break next month when OAuth becomes the only way to log into Twitter from an app.
What was incorrect? This thread existed before your thread, making it old news. As you see it was merged.
Also, your jab at meteorology might be more humorous if I were a forecaster. Since I specialize in computational fluid dynamics and parameterization techniques for the boundary layer, it doesn't quite fit. But hey, it's fun to publicly criticize a scientific field for which one clearly has no actual understanding.
On topic, iTunes still shows the update but won't allow me to download it. Hopefully it will be up soon.
