LET ME GET RID OF ALL THE SPORTSBALL STUFF I DO NOT CARE ABOUT BUT THEY KEEP PERMANENTLY ON MY FEED

I'll stick with Echofon Pro while it's still functional; it has it's issues, but I can live without "undo tweet" and whatever other negligible features they seem to think people want.

Yeah... No lol. Twitter is good but not $3 a month good. These benefits are things they can give free users.

I love how out of touch Twitter is with the actual needs of their users. Such as editable tweets ('undo' is not the same).
The company seems like a cult tech hybrid, it's fascinating
Editable tweets is one of these things that everyone gets behind until it gets used for the wrong reasons.

If you tweet something that many people disagree with, you are currently given the options of accepting the disagreement or deleting the tweet.

If you tweet something that many people disagree with, but are given the option to edit the tweet, you can then edit the tweet to reflect badly on the people that interacted with your initial tweet.

Say you tweeted "Like this if you love cats". You garner 15k likes. You then edit that tweet to say "I am attracted to children". Every one of those 15k people that liked that tweet have that on their profile for everyone to see.

If the edit function is ever enabled, the only fair way for it to work is if the initial tweet is edited, all existing likes or comments are automatically deleted and you start from fresh. it ould be completely unfair for people to comment on or like a tweet for it to be edited at a later date.

I don't see this going over too good. now I know why Bill Gates sold all his stock in Twitter.
Twitter is not as popular as Facebook or Instagram. So to offer paid plans?
Jack Dorsey is off his vegan diet or smoking too much weed.

For all intent and purposes, MR is my media interaction.

It is amazing to me how so many people are caught up in Social Media and allow it to have a hold on their life.

For Social Media addicts, this new Twitter subscription may be very popular with them.
Same here. No Facebook, no twitter, no [insert your platform here]

Someone needs to close down this garbage, along with all the other scummy social media platforms

I wholeheartedly agree with most over here.
Here’s a crazy idea though, albeit conflictive: if the use of the platform is behind a paywall there’s the chance that a lot of the trash talk bursts might go away. Other platforms do it, like Locals, where the right to post anything is behind a subscription tier in some cases, a low $1 month fee is enough to keep those that really want to talk and say something separated from those that just want to scream and create turmoil for free.

Bah, I’ll never like Twitter/Facebook/etc in any shape or form, it has left enough of a bad taste for a lifetime.

What is frustrating is that a lot of companies have moved support to Social Media. If you don't have an account, you can be relegated to email support or worse, the infamous forum community. Luckily, I haven't had to deal with that aspect much thus far. I will stick to email, the company website, or MR for help.

While I agree with your statement there are a few exceptions. Sometimes there are people tweeting actually useful stuff, like live tweets from scientific/medical conferences that allow you to focus on the important talks and topics.
So there is some use for twitter and by my estimate that is at least 0.00023% of the platform. But I would be willing to pay for a platform like twitter that is useful, doesn't sell your info and censors morons. I could imagine this could be profitable. linkedin to some extent is going in that direction.

That is a good point. I would be amiable to certain areas of Twitter if it was posting live tweets on topics you mentioned as well as educational reference material, albeit the ability to reply during live tweeting was prevented.
