Anyone paying for social media, needs to have their brain examined and seen by a shrink daily. 🤦‍♂️
Why just be the slave product of social media for free, when you can pay for it!?

Now for real, you have to be mad already to use it for free just to hear your own thoughts in an echo chamber or people discussing all day. I can't imagine which type of person would give their money to those who are already monetiizing them

Twitter appears to have mistakenly confirmed its plans to launch a new subscription tier called "Twitter Blue," with the new purchase option now listed in the iOS App Store.

Under In-App Purchases, there's now a "Twitter Blue" option that's priced at $2.99, though the feature does not appear to be live in the iOS app at this time.

The Twitter Blue in-app purchase option was discovered by researcher Jane Manchun Wong, who has previously shared details on Twitter Blue that were found buried in the Twitter for iOS code.

Twitter Blue will include an "Undo Tweet" option that holds a tweet for a set period of time before sending it out so you can choose to undo it, and a "Reader Mode" that makes it easier to read long threads.

There are also new color themes to choose from and custom app icons, plus a Collections feature for saving and organizing favorite tweets to make them easier to find in the future.

It's not clear when Twitter Blue will become available, but with the in-app purchase option live in the App Store, it signals that the feature is set to launch in the near future. When asked for more information, Twitter said it had no comment at this time.

Well, if Twitter offered a no ads option, I would subscribe to it. They should also allow syncing the Twitter timeline across all devices...but wait a minute, Tweetbot does all these things already..

My only problem with Tweetbot though is that it doesn't support all Twitter features (Twitter is to blame)..

There should be an Open Source version of Twitter, similar to Signal, if there’s still use for it.
The question is how it will be funded…

The thing is, it’s not just software. Like Facebook, there must be huge warehouses full of expensive servers to keep all the twitters going.

There is an argument that the de facto internet tweeting platform should be brought into state ownership. These social media companies have done a fantastic job of gaining users, but they are in the habit of crushing competition and are somewhat monopolistic. Could the free market handle another MySpace or Friends Reunited in the social media domain? No, they have been crushed out of existence by the dominant platforms.

So if I pay this, and they censor me for having the wrong opinions (Which were right opinions like 5 years ago), do I get my money back?
No you must sign a lifetime contract in blood So you can never cancel the huge few bucks a month. You can’t be censured by a private company only blocked from using their product. Because free speech protections only apply to actions by government. Constitution is pretty clear to those who actually read it.

Unless you are a huge influencer, I don’t see the value proposition in this at all. Especially since they are still making money off of you with tracking and ads! I went to Twitterrific a long time ago. The feed is also a mess in the official App with all this „what you missed“ or „what you may also like“ crap before finally getting to your actual feed

Nice clickbait. Until Twitter officially announces such a service this doesn't comfirm ****.

All it does is show that it's something they're working on.

I use Twitter, but there is no way I would pay a monthly charge for using it.

If there is going to be any sort of features stripped out from what we have now, unless you pay a monthly subscription, then I would have no hesitation in deleting the app/closing my Twitter account.

It is amazing to me how so many people are caught up in Social Media and allow it to have a hold on their life.
You really came onto this Social Media channel (listing your hardware in your tag line) to complain about people using Social Media?

As opposed to "Twitter blue tick" where Twitter pays you to use the platform...

Wait, they don't pay? Why would everyone be so obsessed with getting verified then?

Do you get a discount if you repost government propaganda for the police state? Conversely, do you get a refund if you get de-platformed for political correctness?

Twitter need to focus on stopping racist abuse above everything else, or they will find government sanctions imposed around the world.
The platform has become unbearably toxic, but in their defence, in some places they get sanctioned for stopping racist abuse or calling out fake news.

The hardware is listed so that I don’t have to mention it in help posts all the time. My signature has nothing to do with Twitter or the posts I made. Try posting on topic instead of making a logical fallacy.

Moving away from clickbait monetization is good for society.

I am not sure this alone is worth it, but if they merge it with "Scroll" like they mentioned, then that would be a great deal.
But we wouldn’t. You’d just end up paying for it.
