Actually this is a great step. If you think you are worthwhile the check mark then you probably value paying the $8. In fact its worth more. $8 is cheap.
I mean, I guess.. But that took one developer like 10 minutes to do, I'm sure.Doubling the character count to 280 back in 2017 was arguably useful.
Elon? Nice to see you on Macrumors.Actually this is a great step. If you think you are worthwhile the check mark then you probably value paying the $8. In fact it’s worth more. $8 is cheap.
Yea I'm tempted to go through the motions and see what they ask for.I‘m waiting with interest for Twitter to roll out their new policies to see what this all means. Maybe we will get clarification later this week.
I'd rather see them charge more one time. Why would you have to verify more than once??Actually this is a great step. If you think you are worthwhile the check mark then you probably value paying the $8. In fact its worth more. $8 is cheap.
per month.$112M across 3,750 remaining employees = ~$30k/employee.
why build a clone app when elon can just make twitter the wechat appyou need less than 100 bots to change behaviour of millions in a country or stock market or.... crypto.
well, musk has shown the last using only his account lol
dont get me wrong. I am in crypto too!
its astonishing how he quickly he is destroying twitter. very sad.
probably laying the groundwork for his wechat clone app "X".
Well I see twitter is going to become a cesspit if anyone can get verified.
I mean the article you picture says "documents suggest" doesn't mean it is true. Pretty much what you have posted is hearsay or potentially misinformation.

The worlds richest company, Apple, thanks you for constantly paying their price increases on EVERYTHING yearly and defending the reason of the increase while showing the highest profit ever, YEARLY.The world’s richest person thanks you for your $8/month sacrifice.
And then it was released to the testers who had to test the database, the APIs, the website, the iOS app and the Android app. Then TweetDeck was tested. Then the apps were regression tested, then sent to the various app stores with updated release notes. Then the marketing department had to communicate the changes... etc.I mean, I guess.. But that took one developer like 10 minutes to do, I'm sure.
The worlds richest company, Apple, thanks you for constantly paying their price increases on EVERYTHING yearly and defending the reason of the increase while showing the highest profit every, YEARLY.
It has features if you didn't read. Just like the other nonsense you pay for, so yes, you are getting a product in return. At least you get something for your money, an iPhone. For your Twitter $8, you get a check mark that means nothing more than showing that you are paying $8.
It's also not a subscription. I don't have to pay every month for my phone. I give them a lump sum, and they gave me a phone. End of transaction.
and you know the best part about this, people are outraged for a feature they do NOT need or have to get or had in the first place. You didn't have one in the first place so why do you care if others want to pay it?At least you get something for your money, an iPhone. For your Twitter $8, you get a check mark that means nothing more than showing that you are paying $8.

Apple charges for everything. You buy a product and they don't give you a 20w charger bro!! Are you kidding me here?
All of a sudden everyone cares if a company charges for extra features? Same thing that the company they give thousands to, like Apple does?
Does the Stage Manager ring a bell? "OH only M1 can have it." That is their way to force people to buy the M1. People get upset and poof, just like that older models can have the stage manager magically.

The $8/month is for more than just blue check verification. It also includes (or will include) "Twitter Blue" features such as fewer ads, ability to post longer videos, priority ranking of content, etc.
I just want Twitter to fail, with Dorsey before, and with musk now. It's a garbage service for garbage people, and has been since day one.
Anything less than a 404 when you go to Twitter.com is unacceptable.
As for apple, I don't need their charger and I didn't buy one. I don't need their cloud, streaming, gaming or fitness services and I don't subscribe. I haven't paid them a dollar since I bought my phone.
Exactly the second you end the $8, you're a commoner again. When you pay off the installments, you still have a tangible product. And I agree, why do you need to keep paying to verify. I'd rather have it be more one time.At least you get something for your money, an iPhone. For your Twitter $8, you get a check mark that means nothing more than showing that you are paying $8.

Both rely on algorithms with very little success or user appreciation, it would seem. Instagram is full of hijacked accounts, faked accounts seeking to swindle others out of money and the very worst sort of spam, to say nothing of the fraudulent adverts encouraged by Instagram itself. Any attempt to recover accounts or ban the fake accounts with stolen content seem to take forever or are just rejected as not breaching Instagram's rules. I know a few people who are far from influencer status but left IG because they got tired of either being locked out of their accounts or IG's indifference towards clearly faked accounts using their bios and photos.Youtube is, also has far fewer employees than Twitter, same with Instagram
God knows but until you verify each and every account you can assume the worst on ANY social media platform.Love to see how that is counted - Is that someone who posts every day or just anyone with an account even though it hasn't been used in a week, month or years ? Plus of course the BOTS !!!!
