Well I just took a look at it. It is a mess. The experience feels sloppy."I don't think I've ever used the official app."
"It's a mess"

Indeed, very fleeting and unpredictable, which means they do not have good policies in place (if they do have those applicable policies in place at all!). Sounds like this is running a company by dint of emotions and outbursts. That sounds very much like the bratty character that Elon is.Is this the same as Twitter banning then un-banning and then banning George Santos?
The decisions at Twitter seem to be fleeting and not well thought out.
This. I’m surprised it took this long to happen. Pay Twitter $8 for fewer ads or go pay tweetbot or whoever to eliminate ads while Twitter gets nothing.Twitter isn’t a charity, so why should they let other people profit of their hard work?
Maybe they will open a Twitter Store where developers can offer 3rd party clients for a fair and reasonable 30% cut of every purchase made.
Nobody here should have any problem with this. You guys have made that perfectly clear for years.

I agree. Don't delete it, I won't.Devastated... Tweetbot was making Twitter experience awesome! Best app for iOS and macOS.
Cant force myself to delete apps.
Treating these third party Twitter client devs as potential business partners would make a little noise and get some big thumbs up in the tech-sphere, sure. But a gesture like that is too nice to really get anyone talking. It could potentially go completely under the radar.🥱 My point is he shouldn't be bashed for things that actually aren't stupid. It's pretty clear many (not all) are letting their person opinion about Elon color their judgment. This is a very common, yet irrational thing that happens all the time, especially in politics. Personally, I don't feel strongly about him either way.
Exactly. I mean, I'm fine with saying they only want their app. But, the pot calling the kettle black. And he says something about Apple walled garden?
The difference is that yes, people giving opinions on MacRumors articles is part of Twitter, but cancelling people for minuscule things, political radicalism, "as a xyz" posts, and endless fights about minor details of a movie are not part of MacRumors. It's not the posts, it's the general vibe. We aren't encouraged to make the most outrageous comments about things in exchange for engagement here. The funny thing about comments like this is that this is all the same kind of content you see on twitter. It's just people spewing out their opinions. Which is fine. But don't delude yourself into thinking that what you say here in the form of a comment is any different than what someone would tweet on twitter. There's nothing I have ever read on a MacRumors forum or elsewhere that isn't exactly the same as what I see on Twitter.
