Unpopular opinion but I think shutting down API access is a good thing if that reduces the number of bots on the platform. If that means no more 3rd party clients, then so be it.
Yeah, it's an unpopular opinion probably because you've missed a massive, obvious point. If particular third-party apps were causing spam on the platform Twitter could've revoked access to those particular apps. Instead, they blatted the entire ecosystem of third-party apps. This is throwing the baby out with the bathwater territory.

This is fine because I've decided to ban all Teslas and everything else that the "genius" Space Karen, the world's largest government handout recipient does. He can get tae F.
Yes, because running a public company in a manner in which it tries to turn a profit is such a Karen move.

That isn't to say that this move sucks for the developers behind these apps, and for those using them. Having said that, though, you're piggy-backing off of someone else's platform, and thus are at their mercy. No guarantees, and was always a shaky ground for developers to build a revenue stream off of.

Agreed. And if we had any differences with that person, we could settle it the old fashioned way.

Breakdancing.

And if it were serious, we'd break out the cardboard. ;)

in 1986 NYC, sub-waying from Shea Stadium I saw these break-dancers get doused with city water
on 53rd and 7th from a street cleaner who ruined that cardboard platform.
they made that streetcleaner a Major years later....

Mets 2 Expos 6!

Developers had to pay to access the API. There has to have been a contract for this to happen. You don't just tick a box and say "I agree to your terms of service", and gift money to Twitter each month.
That is exactly how a lot of services work, do you not have any subscriptions? So again, where is the proof of contract or are we just going hard in the paint on hearsay?

I'd be happy if Twitter is banned from the App Store.
Why? I assume cause you hate Elon. But nothing the company has done violates App Store rules or even disrespects anyone’s freedoms. Banning apps because you just don’t agree with its owner or the company is counterintuitive to actual freedom. If you want to be free to your opinions than people you may not share their point of view of do too. If you don’t want to support a company don’t. But stop trying to take others freedoms away. You are not entitled to that.

Someone needs tell that to Musk. Cases in point:
  • banning people who disagree with him.
  • banning journalists whom he does not like their reports.
  • banning accounts he believes are doxxing when they are not (then subsequently doxxes other people).
All of which are, as you put it, counterintuitive to actual freedom; hence the well-deserved sledges of hypocrisy directed at him.

since I’ve called you out for misinformation prior. I’m going to need you to cite all these claims. Thank you.

I think it's ridiculous to report this over and over again.
These apps mimic what Twitter does. They do not offer a new and different service. And yet, these apps are paid. Twitter does not make any profit from this fee. Through the AppStore: Apple, through Google Play: Google and the application producer earn money.

You start a company and there are third software companies that generate income from your work. What do you do. This should have happened long ago.

Same problem on Reddit. It wasn't canceled on the Apollo.

You don’t understand the topic.

He recently set a record for loosing more money than anyone else in history but he’s still the second richest man on the planet.

Since you've participated in discussions about at least two of those claims, it seems disingenuous for you to ask for sources.

This thread is more evidence that Elon haters are more obsessed with Elon than the people who like him.

Spreading hate and negativity on countless posts in a single thread. It’s so weird that haters invest so much time hating someone. It’s like an android fanboy posting in an apple forum.

On a positive note, Twitter is not only working great, it’s had countless feature updates and runs better than it has! Very appreciative of that.

Also really love the Twitter Spaces, great place for people with different perspectives and sides of the isle to discuss. Politicians, CEO’s, Doctors, have all come on these Spaces and have been quite insightful! Super super happy that these ideas and seeds of thought are spreading across the globe, and you can see the effects in real life.

Now that Twitter is more popular than ever, I can’t wait to see what’s next!

Good job Elon! Keep up the great work being the leader in AI, and for a successful Space Force launch 😎😎

You really really really don’t understand the business side either.
You don’t understand the topic.
lol lol lol! These people you are replying to understand the topic 100% but you dont like their comments so you are gaslighting that they are misinformed, while making ZERO arguement to support your claim. Do you realize that?

GROW UP.
I found this weird. Rather than him deconstruct the argument that you made, he instead made a personal observation about your character. Very weird stuff in this thread

It makes you wonder. Maybe. Just maybe? There are paid trolls out there purposely trying to trash Elon Musk?

I wonder who would do that... I really wonder. Could it be competing social media companies? Could it be governments who miss their censorship? Hmm maybe the billionaires, oligarchs, and dictatorships who had full control of Twitter before Elon came around? Would ANY of them set out to do such a thing? No way! Never! Dont be crazy!

Hmmm this is a good point. If paid trolls exist here, it would make sense why are in every thread that involve Elon, and post in every page.

Meanwhile normal people, chime in here and there.

Excellent perspective, appreciate you!
