When you own the company, this is how it works. The guy doesn’t know what exactly he is doing. How is he still the CEO of the company? He must be making all the decisions by himself without consulting with anyone.

Unless he retroactively changes the user agreement and claims Twitter has always been able to sell user data. You know, just like how he reneged on the agreement about APIs. 😆😡Musk cant sell the data, Twitter is under a consent decree regarding user data
Literally zero incentive? Maybe that’s due to lack of imaginationPeople have to remember, you're using a free service. This has to be paid for some how and that's mostly handled by advertising. If third-party tools don't show paying ads, both advertisers complain and Twitter makes no money.
There's literally zero incentive for Twitter to allow third party apps.
I can easily think of one incentive - people using the platform. If third party tools allowed people to use twitter in a way that fits their usage habits, and now it no longer does. They'll just move to a different platform. There's literally zero incentive for Twitter to allow third party apps.
That shouldn’t be too difficult if you can’t afford one of them 🤣😋This is fine because I've decided to ban all Teslas and everything else that the "genius" Space Karen, the world's largest government handout recipient does. He can get tae F.
I actually agree with you.People have to remember, you're using a free service. This has to be paid for some how and that's mostly handled by advertising. If third-party tools don't show paying ads, both advertisers complain and Twitter makes no money.

There are lots of reasons to allow thrid party apps when your platform is based on creating and consuming content you want to have many avenues possible for that to happen. If he did this because of ads, he could have added ads to the API streams.People have to remember, you're using a free service. Pretty much every celebrity, sports athlete, CEO’s, all important influential and news people…. And about 450 million monthly users….. other than that nobody 😂😂At this point who is still using twitter?
I’m letting Twitterrific keep the remainder of my sub. They made Twitter bearable for me and I don’t feel like bothering with the round about ways you have to get the same features back in the default app. Most likely I’ll just keep My account in the off chance the ship is somehow righted but I’m not holding my breath. In the mean time I‘ll enjoy this vacation from doomscrolling for a while.Of course they can, and of course it’s their right.
Twitterrific are also entirely within their right to request their customers do them that kindness. Especially given the circumstances. They’re not asking them not to CANCEL their subscriptions going forward. Not something to get remotely upset about. They’re not forcing anyone to do anything.
Won’t be asking for a refund on my Tweetbot sub personally. They are more than welcome to the portion of my annual sub that is outstanding (a whole £3), after years of quality product before falling foul of Space Karen. If it helps soften the blow, then it’s money well spent.

Volume is king, and if advertisers think that less and less people are using the platform, they'll be less likely to fork over a lot of money. With Twitter basically saying bleep off to how people enjoy using the platform, they're taking a risk that those people will leave
It seems like Chirp for the Apple Watch still works. As of today, is there any third app for Twitter that is working or no?
Thanks!

So if your gas company cuts off supply, you deserve a refund on your appliances? The product you bought no longer works but please don’t ask for a refund because it would hurt us financially.
SHHH! DON'T TELL THEM! 😆It seems like Chirp for the Apple Watch still works.
I think it’s the properly grim, utterly disrespectful way in which this was done that “triggers” (🙄) the majority of people.People are getting incredibly triggered by this. What other major social media services have alternative apps they help support? Facebook? Instagram? Tik Tok? Snapchat? None of them do. It's because alt apps take away from ad revenue, which is what they make their money off of. Musk said he would turn a profit on twitter. Part of that is getting people on the official app so that there is more ad revenue.
For those saying "less people will use the app" I think in some cases, sure. However, the 3rd party app users are pretty hardcore tweeters usually, so I don't think that many people will drop off of Twitter. They will go use the official app.
The sad thing is he could easily force both of those to third party apps by changing what the API returnsPoor Elmo is now mad he paid 44 billion for twitter and wants to force everyone who wants to use it into his now crappy timeline algorithms and advertising.
