Well if you want to keep in touch with the "in" crowd you have to pay.
"“The Bloomberg report notes, for instance, that an unspecified “racist slur”—which we’re just going to go ahead and assume is the n-word, on account of seeing a lot of tweets where people very proudly shouted the n-word on Twitter this weekend—increased in usage by 1,300 percent after Musk’s acquisition of the service went through. Meanwhile, ivermectin—which Musk’s old pal Joe Rogan openly promoted, despite medical claims to the contrary, as an effective treatment for COVID-19—shot up by 2,900 percent, peaking at 358 mentions every five minutes. Oh, and antisemitism, too, with the Anti-Defamation League saying on Friday that it had identified a coordinated plan to spread antisemitic memes on the service.”
Why do other people's obsession matter here? What other people are obsessed about doesn't change objective facts. 2+2=4 no matter if you like it or hate it.Look, we all get it, some people are obsessed with Elon and will do and buy every single thing he says and sells, and defend every single part of his past, there’s no getting around that.
In other words, you write off your own credibility from the onset.I’m not going into the deep end to research about someone I don’t care about and who constantly lies and attacks people who go after him.
"I hate this guy so much I'm not going to bother looking into it" is quite pettyI wouldn’t be surprised if he drops off a sink at my front door in the next few days since he is so petty.
You argued against him building his business from nothing. So again, how much did he receive from the mine? Here are some links from five minutes of searching.
My mistake, he’s the child of an emerald mine millionaire and model.

How Elon Musk made his money - from emeralds to SpaceX and Tesla
The CEO has been the world’s richest man and played a key part in some of the most well-known technology companies around todaywww.independent.co.uk
He is most credited as being a part of the "Paypal mafia", which is a large group of people involved significantly from the beginning, not just the 5 initial cofounders.I didn’t say he didn’t deserve credit for being at the start of a company that was eventually bought out, that is how things work. He did not invent or start paypal, he was bought out by a company that EVENTUALLY became paypal, no relation to Elon…. Yet he does get credit for starting paypal which is factually incorrect.
When founder 1 left, company had sold 0 cars.Seems like the original founders had a lot to do with Tesla and how its vehicles operate.

Tesla Founders Talk About The Early Days Without Elon Musk Around
Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning talked to CNBC about Tesla’s early days, when Elon Musk was still not around, and the Master Plan they had conceived.insideevs.com
Governments create subsidies, discounts, and other tax policies to incentivize activities that they want.Maybe Tesla paid the loans back, but I did also mention his other companies, this shows his companies have and continue to receive subsidies and tax breaks.

Elon Musk is speaking out against government subsidies. Here's a list of the billions of dollars his businesses have received.
Musk's companies benefited from subsidies as recently as April, when SpaceX won a $2.89 billion contract from NASA. Tesla got subsidies for years.www.businessinsider.com
So when you file your taxes next year, how about not claiming any credit or deduction, no student loan payment deduction, no mortgage interest deduction, no deduction against charitable givings, giving your covid stimulus checks back, etc.... would that be better off than what you were doing before?Industry disrupting? Ok sure. Quality products? Not so much.

Consumer Reports Still Ranks Tesla Reliability 27th Out Of 28
Even though Tesla dominates CR's owner satisfaction surveys, it fares very poorly when it comes to reliability and dependability.insideevs.com
It’s also not a judgement of realized achievements, it’s literally a matter of fact if all of these people going off on their own to create their own rockets actually paid taxes, space exploration(and basically everything else government funding related) would be much better off than what they are currently doing.
LOL, can't delete my Twitter account because it's been suspended for the last couple of years.
My guess is Elon isn’t asking this in the blind. He’s probably looked at a list of possible (R&D) projects that are already at some stage of testing/development. And decided he liked this one.At the salary they are likely getting, if they can't get a simple thing like this online in a week they really deserve to be fired anyway. It'd show they are dragging their feet intentionally otherwise or just not qualified for the job and salary in the first place.
A while ago I created a Twitter account for my dad, so he could follow some accounts about news and sports. He did not have any followers and he never tweeted anything. However one day Twitter suspended that account for "suspicious activity". Their algorithm seems to be very strange. Doing nothing is already suspicious.
A blue check told his he’s Willy Nilly threatening to fire people? And maybe he is. But the point is anyone can say anything or leave out pertinent context. And not to just believe any headline you read. It’s like people have a guilty until proven innocent mindset these days.Sure we do! A blue check told us! 🤣
Was just a numbers comparison. Not an argument/defending/disagreeing/agreeing thing. You make it sound like he lost money, as if Twitter itself is now worth nothing.
Do your job or get fired? That’s sorta how it works, no? I’m sure there’s some hyperbole in the article.
imagine the Epic drama but 3x as unhingedLet's see how Elon will react when Apple demands their 30% of $20.
3,2,1 - fight!
To be fair a high percentage of Rogan’s audience has the mange so it isn’t totally unwarranted.Well if you want to keep in touch with the "in" crowd you have to pay.
Considering how spoiled the twitter employees are, even asking them to show to the office and work, is considered harsh measure. He makes Tim Cook look like the Dalai Lama. Get the popcorn folks, this is going to be fun!
or just the fact that he's the richest person on earth and he bought it simply because he can as a toyTo be honest.. Twitter has to have something developed that he wants/needs. Maybe some type of AI? Backend for Starlink? Something.
One of his other companies will become its biggest customer. Similar to starlink and spacex..
I doubt the “fired” executives were planning to stay there. Most of them probably made a ton of money when Musk bought the company.I wonder if this news about twitter has come from a trusted staff member who worked directly with one of the fired excutivies who feels aggrieved that their friend and colleague was fired so abruptly.
It's quite a jump to go from "suspicious" to "suspended".Yeah if you follow certain people, you're suspicious to the algorithm.
in vehicle racing they teach you to look where you want to go, because the vehicle follows your eyes.I must see different stuff from the rest of the world cause I see very little political stuff on my twitter feed. Mostly just a few comic book people and lotsa tech (Mac/iOS) and local sports stuff. Where is the cesspool of which so many speak? Personal I think he bought it to burn it down cause he didn't like it.
except a 7-day deadline for something like this with no notice doesn't really work in the real world eitherLol. The engineers are paid very well. This is how the real world works—produce on deadline or you are gone. So many babies on this forum!
I don't think he's saying everyone is anything. I don't agree about the good boss part. A good boss is one who knows who needs what kind of motivation. We used to have great bosses like that. Some employees just needed a kick in the ass once in a while, but some needed positive reinforcement, and they knew who was who. It’s comments like yours that make me think we are doomed. You think everyone is an a$$ and you imagine that those who aren’t actually are. So you probably behave the same way.
The reality is that most people are nice and you are making it hard for the rest of us.
