Yes, but it makes it through the day, correct? I think that was the point.

Sometimes not.

They aren't transitioning to Intel? What I am saying is the new A6 chip being made for Apple is using the 3D transistor technology 'like' what Intel has been working on. I guess it is licensed from Intel, no idea, but Intel aren't making the chip.

I don't think it's licensed from Intel - though I'm not sure.

This is like iPad2 launch with rumor of ipad3 in a couple months. I doubt there will be another iPhone launch in a couple months.

Agreed the US population isn't getting smarter and Apple isn't helping by releasing phones/devices that 5 year olds can use.

There comes a point when simplicity is just pointless, simple is nice but difficult material push our limits.

Would I prefer doing physics problem with trigonometry, sure I would but I sure would degrading myself if I wasn't doing physic problems involving calculus.

This is exactly what Apple is doing, you think its good because its simple but simplicity can hurt in the long run.
Now being easy to use is a bad thing?!. Every company dreams of making software as easy to use as ios. My 3 year old twins know how to use the iphone and they do sometimes(listen to songs, watch videos, play their games, turn phone on), you will be surprised. When a 3 year old knows how to use an iphone, a masterpiece has been created!!!. All I am saying is I am glad you are not running Apple!

Agreed and you can solve physics problems using arithmetic, algebra, calculus, or trigonometry. You use what the problem calls for. I don't need my email checking to be as complex as calculus. What smart company makes products that are hard to use on purpose? Lol wtf

I would laugh. So hard. Especially since the iPhone forum is now just a bunch of b***hing and whining about the next iPhone. It's so tiring.

Tiring? How in the world is it tiring? I'd think complaining about people complaining would be more tiring than simply ignoring it and clicking somewhere else.

Can't make up my mind which one of you is more annoying.

If Apple don't put up another iPhone worthy of upgrading, Galaxy Prime, Moto Droid HD, HTC Droid Incredible HD and of course some phones by Sony too which boasts 4.3"-4.5" display at 720p resolution will definitely destroy Apple smartphone market. Apple knows this and don't want it. But I think, even after launching iPhone 5, it may not compete very well with upcoming Android Phones since iPhone 4 lead the Smartphone market till now because it had(still has) the highest resolution on Smartphones but not for long.

True .. until last year, iPhone 4 + retina display win the competition, plus build quality and material feels solid compared to competition then (Galaxy S, anyone? with great plastic body and all )

I hope they can catch up .. iPhone is nice, but if they stop make revolution, well I don't think I will upgrade to next-gen iPhone for a moment

NO iPhone 5

iPhone 4s , and the new IOS5 will be it for this year, next June will be iPhone 5.

This way they can tweak and play with the IOS and then turn around and say yea we have a faster processor and a better IOS, + Cloud

Just like with MS with the windows steroid version .

They might have changed the schedule. Not many would be impressed with such a short life-span of 9 months or so.

The previous gen. iPhone will not suddenly die when the next one is released.

However, customers who regularly upgrade aren't likely to be very pleased with the prospect of another upgrade.

As a developer, it would be a pain trying to maintain several devices.

Why would they call the sixth iPhone, iPhone 5?

You serious? How can anyone even state this when Case-Mate already posted this on their site:

The rumors are new iPhone 5 will feature a completely different form factor than its predecessor. Wider and thinner, the redesigned device features an extended home button. The screen size could see an increase to 4 inches.

Yes, they are still just rumors. But Case-Mate isn't going to post that on their site and keep it up and running if there isn't some truth to it.

I was starting to think that 4S was just a spec update and no iPhone 5 existed. Now the Case-Mate episode eliminated that line of thought. I'll be the first to post that I was wrong on MR if 4S is all we get in October, but I say that is impossible at this point.

Why did they call both the 2G and 3G Iphones 3G?

Apple messed up their naming, with the iPhone 3G. Why?

Because the iPhone 3G is practically the same as the iPhone original, except it has 3G capabilities. Hence it didn't deserve the name, iPhone 2.
People thought that the iPhone 3G only had 3GBs, it was very weird.

Then the 3rd iPhone was named iPhone 3GS. Why? Because going from iPhone 3G to iPhone 3, makes no sense marketing wise. Customers want to see more added to the product, not less. But the 3rd iPhone actually deserved the name, iPhone 3.

Apple pays attention to every detail in the products, including the name. Otherwise they would've called the iPad 2, the iPad 1S according to some people.

so here's how it's going:

iPhone original = iPhone 1
iPhone 3G = iPhone 2
iPhone 3GS = iPhone 3
iPhone 4 = iPhone 4
iPhone 5 = iPhone 5
iPhone 6 = iPhone 6

By naming the following, Apple is messing up so much:

iPhone 4S = iPhone 5?
iPhone 5 = iPhone 6?
iPhone 5S = iPhone 7?
iPhone 6 = iPhone 8?

Hope everyone understands.

They're just quoting the same rumors we've all been reading now. No new information there.

I hope you're right, though.

Put it this way. They aren't going to publish rumors without knowing more than we do. They would look really foolish if it turns out the 4S is the next iPhone and it's basically a better iPhone 4.

The fact that they are coming out and acting as if they have inside info makes me believe that they know more than any Apple rumors site, etc.

I think there is a significant difference between us and them. That is, We go visit some Rumor site and try to discuss, digest the news but they put a lot of money on the supposedly *rumors* for making these Cases, mass producing it. Remember, when iPad 2 launched, CM launched Cover for it in just two days. Does that mean they waited for iPad launch, saw it's design then manufactured it? NO. They knew the dimensions of the device months prior to the actual announcement and they mass produced these Cases only to launch them just after iPad's release. Same case is with iPhone because these people really have sources inside Apple and something more important i.e Money.

And to add to this. They already know the dimensions of the next iPhone. Hence why they are essentially stating that the iPhone 5 is going to be wider and thinner. They already have cases created for the next iPhone. That means that they already have some built some already (or are in the process of doing so). I honestly don't think Case-Mate is going to produce those images that have since been taken off their site without being in the know to a deeper extent of the form factor vs any rumor Mac site.

What I think they don't know is the screen size (or at least they will wait for Apple to share that info).

The only way they would have inside info would be through corporate espionage. Apple certainly isn't giving them anything. They are only basing these representations (that's all they are at this point) on the supposed design documents that were allegedly leaked last month (when they were leaked, you may remember that MR posted a rendering of the possible appearance of the iPhone 5). I'm sure they have done a few test runs based on those documents, and are geared up to go if those specifications prove to be bona fide, but I'm sure they have not already stockpiled thousands of these cases, ready to be shipped the moment Apple finally unveils the new iPhone. It's still just speculation. Expensive, high-stakes speculation, to be sure, but for them it's a gamble worth taking if they can corner the market on iPhone cases for the first month or so.
