I want a bigger screen AND a smaller one.

What I really want is my phone number to belong to iCloud.

Then I can buy

IPhone 6 micro. smaller than an iPhone 4 Thinner, much lighter. Perfect for a night out.

iPhone 6. Same size as the current but again lighter and thinner. A good all round phone.

iPhone 6 Jumbo. Perfect for travelling where a big screen is needed for browsing and watching films.

Where ever I am I tell Siri or ICloud what phone I want to use and it re routes all calls, texts and visual voicemail. ICloud provides seemless access to all my docs, apps, mail, photos and music.

Apple gets more revenue. I get the phone that suits me dependent on what I am up to.

IMO the only problem with the 5C is the colours, if it was valuable in black and white they would sell many more. As it stands its a very expensive kids phone.

I am waiting for a large sized iPhone, my 4S and the 5 too are too small to easily read web content without using the Reader in Safari and bigger would be better.

I suppose the tough choice for Apple will be whether to go with 3 models, large screen "6S", normal screen "6" and perhaps retain the 5C as the lower priced option. I can see that if they stick to 2 option it will be the 5C which goes as they will not risk the 6 only being available in a big size.

that biggest problem with the 5c was it was suppose to be a "cheaper" phone but it was still $549.00 for a 16GB should of been closer to $399

"But there’s a technical issue with larger-screen iPhones, and it has nothing to do with the larger LCD or resized case. Those parts are easy. What’s tricky is rejiggering iOS to accommodate a new screen size. (Unlike Android, iOS isn’t designed to fluidly reconfigure itself for whatever screen size it finds itself on.)"

Yep. This is going to be a huge battle for Apple. While iOS does have most of the elements to allow applications to scale to screen size, most developers aren't using those features. Android has had this for long enough that developers know (and many pointlessly complain) that they have to make their apps fit on numerous kinds of screens.

It's not about phone, small tablet, large tablet - it's infinite flow of screen configurations ranging from screen size, resolution, pixel ratio, and pixel density. Obviously Android developers don't have to develop for an "infinite" amount of screens, but its still a lot more difficult than have 2-4 exact screens to build for. And now iOS developers are going to need to be prepared for a long range of screen configs as well.

Should be fun to hear what the loyalists will have to say once their Android phones starts running on 64-bit chips with fingerprint scanners.

Oh you're referring to android loyalists? Well no need to wait, we've always loved high end specs. We don't say one thing and secretly wish for another. We all know an Android phone already had the finger print scanner. No biggie. And Android OEMs don't advertise and bash the finger print scanner or 64 bit CPU. But nice try on the failed scenario reversal. Lol.

Since the difference between the 5c and 5 is that the 5c has a couple better sensors but is plastic instead of aluminum, when considering the price of the components you'd have to assume the 5 is also priced too high? But since they would cost the same right now, that doesn't make any sense.

The 5c should be cheaper since it is built on iPhone 5 components introduced in september 2012—Now re-packaged in a plastic enclosure. It should be cheaper since, what I see as, a far superior product* — the 5s — is available at +$100 (contract free).

*Way faster A7 chip, M7 motion chip, Touch-ID, Better camera, Aluminum enclosure.

Why the biggest iPhone wont have any noticeable spec difference:

Full sized iPad, iPad mini retina and iPhone 5S all run on the same chip today.

Thank you for listening.

5"+ iPhone?....may have to swap for my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which I am currently enjoying over the iPhone 5 that I sold....just loving films on the bigger screen.

A 5" phone negates the need for the iPad mini also.

You're waiting for an awful lot, if I didn't know any better I'd say you came on the site looking for an argument.

Actually no, But no one can have an opinion around here without someone saying the obvious... or saying "grow-up".

The majority of peoples opinions on this site are subjective and no one comprehends that.

but the way it is now is 0.5" bigger than the way it was, so you were ok with that 0.5" increase?

Yes, because Apple made the phone thinner and lighter, without making it any wider, while making the screen taller. If they did that while making the screen bigger, that would appeal to me more. But right now I am happy with the current screen and wouldn't want one any bigger.

In this case last years tech isn't all that bad... It's just as good as everyone else's flagship.

The truth is in my book I can't see how people find two tone aluminum and glass attractive. That's why I bought a 5c. I'm a guy that's had every single iphone released up until the 5s. I bought the 5 and returned it to stay on my 4s for this reason.

I've never understood why it baffles people as to why someone else would want something different.

Yes I got the 5 c only to hold me over until the 6 was released, but in the time I've had it I've noticed it's not a bad phone at all. It runs just like the iPhone 5, but IMHO it looks better

I can see that everyone would have thier own preferences and I would have rather seen more form factors with the iPhone before a cheaper iPhone.

However, I can see why Apple did make the cheaper phone in order to compete in different markets. Either way, if the rumors hold true, we will have the best of both worlds by the end of next year providing that Apple keeps the producing the iPhone Cs

I would like a larger display IF

1) I could still hold the phone in one hand
2) Better Battery life
3) Able to read web pages, comics, emails, books comfortably
4) Not much more expensive than existing phone

and if it meets these and replaces the 'desire' for an iPad, great. I'm all for simplfying and sticking with one iDevice. My wish-washiness with iPads considered, it would be great to stick with one device.

I've changed my mind because while I love the iPhone, I would like a larger screen.

All of which I can do on any phone that has a bigger screen. I'm currently doing it now with the Note 3.

----------

I don't want an iPhone with a bigger screen. It's fine the way it is.

But some people such as myself disagree. I would definitely use a iPhone more if and only if it had a bigger screen. So now Apple is losing money because I refuse to buy the current phones with such a small screen.

Apple could make a 5" screen iPhone with the same 5S case dimensions. You would need to push the camera, sensors and ear speaker further to the top and make the home button quite smaller and push it to the bottom or eliminate the need for a home button on the screen (that can be repositioned to the side or have same functionality via gesture).

One-handed use was good for its time. The iPhone is a phone in name only, not in spirit. As more and more people begin using smartphones, which are basically mobile computers these days, as their primary or only computing device, having a bigger screen becomes essential to the user experience.

Before you or anyone else says I should get a carry a small smartphone and an 8" tablet around instead - not everyone can afford two devices and not everyone wants to carry around two devices.

I completely understand that. I'm just saying I hope they don't abandon the current screen size. There are just too many circumstances where a bigger phone would not be better (arguably even bothersome).

iPhone 6X.

Featuring a 5.2" display.
Perfect for travelling where a big screen is needed for browsing and watching films. More on screen working room for composing email, SMS, documents and content.

This is my ideal scenario. Retains the small phone for the one handed operators.

Gives power users a larger smartphone to use in lieu of their laptop or tablet for work when traveling, when one is in a short break between flights or other situations where getting out ones laptop is not practical.

Apple could have done this much earlier and enjoyed an even larger profit.

I do all that with Google Voice. Doesn't matter what device I'm using or what carrier I'm with I have my number on all of them.

Maybe they would like to be able to surf the web and actually see what's on the screen without having to squint. :p

I use mine for web all the time, no problems.

If they discontinued the current size for larger only I'd probably move on to another device.

This is what I hope happens. The truth is had Apple not released the 5c I would've stayed on the 4s without LTE. The 5c was so that I could have LTE without having the design of the 5/5s (IMO that design can't go away soon enough.). I despise the design of it. I find it flawed in many ways. Of course it's my opinion and I know not everyone shares that opinion. The 5c is a nice device though and in no way is it "cheaply" made. Yes it is plastic. It's made from the same type of plastic Samesung uses, but Apple did do a good job with the design of the phone.

There's a lot of "Apple fans" that hates on the 5c. They feel as though having the 5s makes them superior to someone with a 5c, but it doesn't. I had a choice I could've gotten the 5s, but I didn't want it.

With any luck Apple with just revamp the entire lineup come fall.

Totally fine with a 5.5 inch phone. My Galaxy Note 2 is fine for me size wise. I'd REALLY love an iPhone with a larger screen. Tried Android, it was ok, but I'll be coming back to iPhone later this year.

Hopefully, they keep one version at the current size of the 5/5s. if people want a mega-iphone like the galaxy, get one of those.

I want a large iPhone, not a Galaxy. I spent 4 months with a Google Nexus 7 Gen 2 tablet. Sold it 3 weeks ago for a $100 loss and bought an iPad Air on Tuesday.

Of course, now that I have the iPad, I use the iPhone a lot less. But I still want a larger phone.
