In summary - just before the D day
Well, here is the plan for tomorrow.
Steve Jobs gets on stage. He talks about (in that order):
* how great fiscal year 2005 and in particular, how great was the last quarter that ended of sept 30 2005. He will essentially repeat what the numbers are (known since oct 11th, 5 PM EST);
* how great the sales of the nano are;
* he may talk about the halo effect on Mac sales if it is real;
* he may talk about any non-effect the Intel annoucement has on the Mac sales (sales keep going up)
* he may talk about the state of the Intel transition
then, is here we go, a few announcements:
* Steve will confirm the new Mac Mini configs (1.5 ghz PPC G4);
* Steve will present the new PowerMac with PowerPC dual cores, showing that the current PowerPC technology is still GREAT; has room to grow and confirm Apple is still commited to bring new technologies to the MAC PPC plateform;
* Steve will then talk about the state of the PowerBooks. Introduces PowerBook HD with updated HD screen, a few more mhz
* Steve will also present a new iBook HD added to the current iBook line-up so lower-end portables can enjoy HD screens.
* all new Macs comes with Tiger 10.4.3.
* Steve will then talk about why he wants us to go with the new PowerBooks HD and introduce iTunes Movie Store Rental service and talk about how much more integrated and complete the store is compared to the competitors. He will talk about the use of H.264 encoding available for PC + Mac.
* Steve will finally introduce the AirPort Extreve AV edition that will allow streaming of digital video from a Mac - PC to a HD TV set in the living room.
In summary: no new iPod, just a Mac event with HD content in mind. No video iPod. Rental service for video content.
