For those that are searching for a UPS tracking number by reference number, both of my iPhones have the usual Apple order number minus the last two digits as usual BUT they also have a reference number containing the whole Apple order number. What is missing this year (on both of my shipments, anyway) is the telephone number associated with the order.
So, trying searching by Apple order number but searching by phone number is probably not going to work (for my orders, at least.)

Do Apple stores normally carry extra non-reserved iPhones on launch day? I might try to swap for a black titanium if that's the case.
Of course they do but not too many. There are still people waiting for the store to open
Yes, Apple stores will have extra stock on hand for walk in customers.
First come first served.
Best to do a store purchased ahead of time so that when you show up for your pre-order, you can ask to see the ISPU that has your name. I did that one year.

Do you already have the Incheon, KR & Anchorage scans? I believe the customs scan appears ahead of time before landing in Louisville as preliminary notification of clearing customs. You're Wave 1 I believe, and you should merge with Wave 2 before arriving in Louisville and we haven't left ZhengZhou CN yet.

I had a notification a few years ago of my phone being in Louisville and clearing customs when it still hadn't actually arrived.
I was about to get some sleep but decided to check UPS My Choice once more to torture myself and lo and behold for the first time I have tracking for my iPhone 16 PM. I wonder what wave this makes me part of? 🤔

Still in China. it says it to all of us in the aftership app. 100% still in China
This doesn't make sense... Leave China around 6 pm on the 15th and arrive in the US around 9:30 pm on the 15th. Is it traveling through a worm hole or something.
I have had mixed experience with that, several times I have been allowed to pick up my stuff, and several times i’ve been sent away. These were not on iPhone Launch Day. lol But
I imagine if the timing is right it would be possible. I would not drive a great distance to test this theory.
