A little confused for those who are doing ISPU. What does it mean that you were “charged”? Does that mean it shows up as Pending on the Wallet app (if you did Apple Card)?

Kids these days don't know the excitement of waiting in line. My store wouldn't even allow queues to form until 2am on the launch day. Then yuh had to wait until 7:30a for the employees to walk through the line starting at the beginning and asking how many, which model and carrier and then handing out slips with that info on it. All the while you're listening to the person in front of you hoping they weren't getting the same thing as you thinking to yourself what's your backup plan and the person behind you doing the same thing. Ahhh the good ol' days 😆
I used to tease my wife and toddler son that they were going to have an adventure waiting overnight at our Apple Store. This was in early days of iPhone. My son is now 19 and he’s going to sit with me by the front window waiting for the brown truck to pull up. Unless I can arrange a UPS CC pickup, which has been my favorite for many years!

It didn’t. This happens every year. That’s the pre-paperwork for customs. It always shows up in AfterShip and some of the other third party tracking apps. You’ll see scans for departure from ZZ, arrival in either Incheon, KR or Chek Lap Kok, HK, then in and out of Anchorage, before it actually physically arrives in Louisville.

I just got tracking from UPS My choice!! Delivery 20th, still preparing to ship on Apples order tracker. Woo!!
Do not even bother with Apple’s info, it will update to “shipping” on Thursday when it is sent from Louisville to your local UPS CC.

Be prepared for it to sit several days in China before moving to Anchorage. On the other hand, if it quickly leaves China, it’ll sit in Louisville for several days before updating after its “departing Anchorage stamp.

People freak out every year on these two know waiting periods. If Apple told you 9/20 delivery, you have at least a 99.99% likelihood of getting it then.

Most of the reported missed deliveries noted on these threads have been related to local weather events or people not at home in crowded urban neighborhoods where the driver did not want to leave the phone at someone’s front door.

edit: Hilarious how many people I read answering the same questions from many people asking it. And right after the answer was the same question yet again! Maybe we should have a thread with an info post at the beginning of it explaining frequently asked questions, maybe we could call it an FAQ! lol

So, in the past when I pre-ordered for in-store pickup I would go 10 min before my assigned time and there would be 2 lines 1 to see what they have in stock and to try out the phone and 1 for pre-orders. This time I am picking up my phone at a smaller store than I usually go to which is bigger and I also need to pick up an Apple watch pre-order. if I have a time slot for one at 5 and the other at 5:15, can I go at 5 for both or can I come at 5:15 for both?

This doesn't make sense... Leave China around 6 pm on the 15th and arrive in the US around 9:30 pm on the 15th. Is it traveling through a worm hole or something.
There is a wormhole known as the International Date Line. lol

I have flown out of Asia and arrived home before I left.

That said, I don’t believe that phone is actually in Louisville, it doesn’t have the departure and arrival stamps for the intermediate flights to get it there.

Yeah wait for an origin scan. We had this last year, the phones get custom clearance while they're still in China.

I believe the time stamps in the UPS app and site are in local time of the place where the item had the scan.
Yes, that definitely makes for some confusing time stamps. As the packages from Asia are traveling back in time, they can arrive before they left.

Make sure you share with the Apple Store that you are there for two devices when you first check in.
