Should we update our iPhone 16 to 18.1 before setup, or just let it update during setup?

Mine arrived in Hodgkins at 8:30PM and departed at 9:35PM, arrived Palatine at 11:15PM. My shipments usually arrive in Palatine CC after 4AM from Hodgkins.
There is still time.
I don’t mean the old iPhone. Thought the 16 would get an update to 18.1 today.
ETA: ahh, 18.1 is still in beta.
Anyone else have their phones start somewhere other than Louisville? Mine are coming from Carlisle, PA which happens to be 20 minutes from me. Both of my sisters phones came from there as well and they live in Jersey.
Idk there’s been a few instances recently where packages have arrived to my local center early enough to go out for delivery only to sit there until the next day. Haven’t had any packages that arrive early and have a delivery date in the future go out early…
No 18.1 is still in beta. So the phones are 18.0. After setup you can install 18.1 beta if you wish. The 18.1 public beta was released yesterday.

It’s D day! 😃. I’ll be sitting by the front window waiting on that big brown truck to arrive. UPS My Choice shows ”On the way” and arrived at the local facility at 3:57 am. I’ll be happy to see it change to on the truck and out for delivery.
I’m in Tampa too - mine still says delivery today. Hopefully yours will update back to today!
Ah, delivery day. When your comfy Wave 1 status means nothing and you’re at the mercy of your historically inconsistent local UPS team. I envy people that have a “regular UPS driver” and a dependable delivery window.
My UPS delivery window changed from “by 7PM” to “between 10:30 and 12:30”. I’m stoked!
