Still not-so-patiently waiting for mine. Usually see the UPS truck while I'm walking my dog, so I've probably got another hour or so.

Looked out on the front porch a few minutes ago and saw a box out there, about the size for an iPhone, and I was a little annoyed since it says I need to sign for it. Brought the box in and realized it was way too light for an iPhone. Then I realized it's the trade-in kit for my soon-to-be ex-iPhone. So at least I got the trade-in box this time after my last ordeal trading in my MBP.

I ended up chasing the UPS man down after he said he forgot it on the truck and got my phone
“Forgot”. Sure.

No really, I’m sure he was being honest. But I wonder how many UPS employees risk their jobs and try to take one of these. The vast majority of delivery drivers are very hard working and they don’t get enough respect or pay. But with 330,000 UPS drivers in the US, you figure at least a few of them try to pull a fast one.
 
It's my first time pre-ordering, and I'm disappointed by the fact that Apple does not prioritize pre-orders. Despite ordering on September 13th, I have to wait until mid-October. Meanwhile, phones are fully available in stores, and people can get them today without pre-ordering. I don't have a chance to go to an Apple store, so I have no other choice but to wait
 
Well my delivery window was supposed to be 1:15-3:15 which is about normal at our house. But the map shows the truck clear across town, seems like I will be waiting a lot longer.

I’m incredibly impatient …even though I am not home anyway.
 
For real, dude? These people have enough to deal with all day long, they really need someone coming in whining because out of a zillion phones, they messed up delivery of one?

I already have the customer counter manager name from my buddy who works for UPS as a regional manager.

UPS rep said it is still at the hub.
He said wait until after 7pm to call back and file a trace request.

My driver has 4 packages for me today! 2 shiny iPhones and 2 non apple boxes, he misdelievered the two boxes and forgot about the iPhones. Quick call to UPS fixed it and the driver came back within minutes :)
 
Been waiting for my package and UPS had given me a good delivery window. They missed the window which I realize is just an estimate. It’s already in my hometown and they decided to change the status to “your package is pending release from a government agency.” What the heck.

Yep, my time window as 10:30-1:30. After that time came and went, the little notice that says my estimated delivery time has been updated popped up, but I never got another window. Just says before 7pm. It is 5:53pm now.

He forgot about both iPhones?!? I’m not ready to throw accusations at him, but that sounds highly suspicious!

Glad you got them though! It must feel like Christmas!

So my in-store pickup this year was a little interesting. I had a 10am time slot for my preorder. I arrive at the store this morning, wait in a very short line outside the store, someone then brings me in and brings me over to a service rep that is just finishing up with another person. No problem, I just wait while the service rep is working with the other customer to finish up their trade-in and get their old phone wiped. That person wasn't activating the new phone so the rep puts their new sealed phone in a bag and away that person goes.

So she turns to me and begins processing my order. She starts handling the phone that was brought out from the back and I start to notice that the box looks like it's a 256GB Black Titanium Pro Max. My order was for a 512GB Natural Titanium Pro Max. So I mention that and she looks confused and scans the phone and I immediately see the panic in her eyes. She had inadvertently grabbed the phone that they brought out for me and put it in the previous customers bag. While they had their phone number, that customer didn't activate the phone in store so they had no way to immediately contact them. For some reason this morning in the back they weren't applying any labels to the devices they were bringing out for customers.

So the manager comes over, he assures me that the other customer has no way to activate my number on that phone. They end having me cancel my order, luckily they still had stock of my model and storage, so they were able to put another order through and get what I ordered and then they processed the trade-in. So it took longer than expected to do my in-store pickup this year but wasn't a huge deal, I still got my new phone and exactly what I wanted. The manager even had me pick out a case and a screen protector and it was all on them. So some decent freebies to go with my new phone.
 
Mine now says "Pending Delivery Date" and "Your package is pending release from a Government Agency. Once they release it, your package will be on its way.". Not looking good. :-(

So this happened to you as well. These packages were released by customs already. Is this some generic line UPS is using to justify delaying them? I wonder.

Is anyone else having issues transferring the phone number to the new phone? Rats. Never had this kind of trouble with a new setup.
