I was a little surprised that I had to log in to so many of the apps..... i thought that was the purpose of doing the iCloud back up!?

Do / Did you have iCloud Keychain enabled on your old iPhone?

Before you turn on iCloud Keychain, update your device to the latest iOS or iPadOS, or the latest version of macOS and make sure that two-factor authentication is turned on for your Apple Account.

Turn on iCloud Keychain on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Vision Pro​

1. Tap Settings, tap your name, then choose iCloud.
2. Under Saved to iCloud, tap Passwords. In iOS 17 or earlier, tap Passwords and Keychain.
3. Tap Sync this [Device] to turn on iCloud Passwords & Keychain. You might be asked for your passcode or Apple Account password.

Both my phones (16 Pro and Pro Max for wife) and AWU2 were delivered at about 1:00 pm. Did device to device wireless transfer on both, went flawlessly and took about 20 minutes apiece (plus some extra for iCloud to download all the apps). Paired AWU2 with new phone and kept AW8 paired as second watch, all went flawlessly as well.

I'm happy to say the whole process went smoothly from start to finish this year. Probably won't be upgrading for another 2-3 years unless something earth-shaking comes out next year!

In-store pickup was a nightmare this year, nothing but issues with trade in. Luckily the MOD was able to take care of me!

16 Pro is nice. Somehow feels bigger but also not.

my store was having issues with trade in and was suggesting to just pick up the phone and come back to do trade in, which i usually do anyways so it didnt effect me

No offense that's why I ALWAYS drive 25 minutes to my Apple store. There were 75 people in the line that DIDN'T order a week ago that I;m told ALL got an Iphone today.

Everyone doesn’t have that option. The closest store to me is an hour away. Others in this thread are even further away.

I now have a message that says delivery date will be provided as soon as possible!

Just checked and it says Saturday delivery requested.

I noticed when I swapped phones two weeks ago that I had to log into every single application. That was a first for me. It also took about 3 days for all my messages to sync.

Yes, mine just changed to September 21st by 7PM. It says Saturday delivery requested but I didn't make that request (I guess the driver is way behind). Good thing I don't have anything planned for tomorrow.

Well, that was interesting/pleasant surprise. UPS ended up delivering it ninja style... didn't even hear the truck... I simply got a notification around 6PM my time that it has been delivered.

Add me to the list. I was tracking the truck..it arrived...no phone. I did get an unrelated package delivered though. I told the driver there should be an iPhone too. He double checked and there wasn't anything else listed on his device. I opened the app and watched my phone move away on the truck until the map changed and showed the tracking all of the way back to China. Still showing it's out for delivery. Haven't gotten a new delivery date.

Similar situation here. It had said rescheduled delivery was requested yesterday morning but then was out for delivery. The driver had 4 packages on his scanner but could only find 3, of course not my 16 Pro Max! It said out for delivery all night until 1:45am, it now shows Saturday delivery requested but is in Louisville, KY… I live in NE Pennsylvania 😅 really hoping it comes today so I don’t need to wait until Monday

Got mine and my wife’s all set up. Used phone to phone transfer on mine and iCloud back up on hers. Mine took about an hour and hers is still syncing. I don’t really see a difference in either honestly.

I always go caseless but decided to at least use a screen protector this time around since my 15 pros screen was pretty scratched. We put on the magic john ones and they are terrible. They have a thin black border around the edge that makes the bezel of the phone look bigger than it is and it actually covers stuff on the screen! I asked Amazon for a refund and ordered the new dbrand ones. Hopefully those a don’t have the black bezel or I’ll return that one too.

Did you order the new “Idiot Proof “ one? I ordered one on 9/9/24, and it still shows only “Confirmed“ and “Preorder” status. No indication as to when it might ship. Luckily, I also ordered others to try. Didn’t want to go without screen protection.

My 16PM nat ti was delivered yesterday at around 1pm. I was working so my wife took delivery. I got home after 5, immediately did phone to phone transfer. We have terribly skinny bandwidth here in the sticks so apps are still downloading 15 hours later but activation and initial transfer went fine. Old phone says transfer complete. Now just have to wait patiently, not my strong suit, for all apps to download. New phone is only minimally bigger than my 15PM, I don’t find it unwieldy to hold with one hand and I don’t have large hands. I’m happy with the nat ti color. Will go to Apple store tomorrow to get the Belkin screen protector applied with their fancy machine. Se you all next year! Hope everyone gets their stuff as promised.

Try a hard reset. Press volume up button, then volume down button, then hold the sleep wake button for like 10-20 seconds or until/if you see an Apple logo. I’ve had this issue a couple times before and this always fixed it.

Just for those who wanted to change colors etc. especially with a trade in!
I went into Apple Store with my new iPhone 16 pro max desert titanium and walked out with the pro max black titanium. They just did an exchange which released the trade(was tied to the first iPhone) and went very smoothly.

The 16 Pro is basically at every Apple Store in Florida. I ordered the 16 Pro 128 GB on the 16th and it said Oct 3-8 but I received tracking info from UPS last night saying it has departed from China and should be in my hand by Tuesday the 24th.

I am back for another year of entertainment, watching people obsess over every inch that their phone moves while in transit and those who blow a gasket if it isn't in their hands at 8 a.m. on release day. To see those "traveling together" and others pulling all-nighters and calling out of work to watch the blip on the airplane radar move a millimeter. I haven't been able to order my phone yet... should I be worried?!?!?!?!?! Sorry, I had to be the first person to use the "should I be worried" line this year.

I am having so many issues now with thinner bezels. Now, all the gestures from the edge of the screen should be performed much closer to the actual edges of the device. 1st – it is really uncomfortable. 2nd – I have Spigen glass protector and to do any gesture like minimizing an app or accessing control center I need to swipe through the edge of glass protector. Which feels bad and also often fails to register. It is so annoying. I don’t understand why Apple didn’t adjust dead zones for the gestures in iOS 18 for 16 Pro / Pro Max, but my experience with that is really poor.
