Receoved my phone yesterday and it's all set up. I didn't get a trade in kit with the phone..will that come separately, Has anyone gotten theirs?

Editing to say I see my trade in kit was shipped yesterday...sorry all.
I need to call Verizon about this today(and a couple other things)-i ordered directly from them and no trade in kit info

Control center with iOS 18 has a new control where one can ring one's Apple Watch from one's iPhone. Mine used to work, but now it's grayed out. I went through the troubleshooting steps. But no go. The watch is paired to the phone and I can ping the phone from the watch, but not the opposite.

I am having so many issues now with thinner bezels. Now, all the gestures from the edge of the screen should be performed much closer to the actual edges of the device. 1st – it is really uncomfortable. 2nd – I have Spigen glass protector and to do any gesture like minimizing an app or accessing control center I need to swipe through the edge of glass protector. Which feels bad and also often fails to register. It is so annoying. I don’t understand why Apple didn’t adjust dead zones for the gestures in iOS 18 for 16 Pro / Pro Max, but my experience with that is really poor.
Is it this issue:

I had this issue in the very beginning after installing the glass protector, even after initial iOS update. But then in the morning it started to behave perfectly fine.
It either can be glass protector adhesive issue, or maybe iPhone is doing something in background that forces it to miss some touches, but I don’t see any of this now.

My issue is that bezels are so thin that to activate gestures I need to swipe from the edge of glass protector, which has rough edges. It’s like they didn’t think through the actual use of it, just left the logic of how it worked on the previous model.

Did you order the new “Idiot Proof “ one? I ordered one on 9/9/24, and it still shows only “Confirmed“ and “Preorder” status. No indication as to when it might ship. Luckily, I also ordered others to try. Didn’t want to go without screen protection.
I did! It looks good. Sheesh I had no idea it was gonna take that long to get. I have this crappy one on now that I’ll probably keep on until it gets here.

my store was having issues with trade in and was suggesting to just pick up the phone and come back to do trade in, which i usually do anyways so it didnt effect me

Mine was explicitly not allowing that! It was super annoying. They also had trouble with the stolen device protection and that sort of thing. Bleh. Might actually do the trade in by mail next time if it saves me an hour.

I had the same issue. Unpairing and re-pairing fixed it for me.

Let’s go!

Well, woke up to a notification that my phone delivery was rescheduled to today. Fingers crossed they put my 16 PM on the right truck!

Seems extreme. I'm getting a call back from Apple. They did a diagnostic on my Apple Watch and it was fine. Did you get an iOS update today perhaps?
I don't know if it was caused by iOS 18 or my new iPhone... Unpairing and re-pairing took about 15 minutes, I didn't set it up as new.

I just got off of the phone with Apple Support. Was told to turn off then on 'Access Within App' in Settings / Control Center. I then removed the ping control and added it back in and when I did, it was not grayed out.
That worked for me and was a lot faster than unpairing/repairing. Thanks!

Nice! Mine is 8-15 so maybe mine will go soon too 😊
Oh, sorry for the confusion. I meant to say the "cancel order" option is still available. My order status hasn't changed since September 13th.
But someone above mentioned that his order 3-8 Oct is coming in 24th of September, so hopefully our orders will also start the shipping process during the next week

Yeah, dBrand has never been known for their lightning fast shipping speed, lol. But this is the first time I’ve preordered from them. Who knows how long it’ll take… They make excellent products, though. I’m still waiting for my Ghost Case replacement.

No iOS update today. There was an update for iOS 18 yesterday. It was 423.8 MB and was bug fixes and Security updates.

Did you mean a WatchOS? I only had the one from yesterday to install iOS 11.

Sitting at the Apple Store. Used a gift card to preorder. They won’t give me the phone. The system tells me to call 1800MYAPPLE.

I am on a 20 minute hold. As a person who uses ONLY Apple products, I am beyond annoyed, borderline angry and this is just a series of things that have happened lately where I have been left very disappointed with their support channels.
