Unrelated question, am I the only one a little concerned that when holding my phone, my finger is going to be activating that new camera button?
I have been wondering the same thing but after reading the input from Macrumors on the Camera button I think it should be OK at this point. Most functions are after a Click so just holding the case there sounds logical.

Apple says that the Camera Control button is meant to work in either landscape or portrait mode, and it was built with a force sensor and touch sensor to support different gestures.
  • Single click - Open up the Camera app (or a third-party app).
  • Single click, Camera open - Take a photo.
  • Click and hold - Open Camera app, start a video recording.
  • Light press - Open up controls like zoom. This button will also lock focus and exposure (coming this fall) for reframing shots without losing focus.
  • Double light press - Bring up the camera preview menu to choose different controls like exposure or depth of field.
  • Swipe - Swap through available adjustment options, and also change parameters like zoom, exposure, or depth of field when a control is selected.

I’ve been getting the Belkin glass screen protector, the one Apple applies with their fancy machine. It’s pricey but has a lifetime warranty if you register it.
I do the same thing and have them install it on my new phone as soon as the phone comes out of the box when I’m at the Apple Store picking up the phone.

Correction, it just showed up. Have a tracking #. Things seem to be moving more quickly this year, or maybe the scans are more up to date.
Maybe a few hours but last year I thought we saw early UPS Tracking numbers with a time stamp of Saturday night in China. I will have to go look at mine but 9:50 PM seems like what I recall.

It’s weird. Everyone mentions UPS which mine is scheduled for this year. But I could have sworn before it was FedEx delivery for me on launch day. I could be wrong since memory ain’t as good as it used to be. Memory is just good for the useless things I shouldn’t remember these days 🤣

lol, I feel you on the memory (being filled with the stuff that shouldn't even be priority). But yes, some regions do get FedEx on the final leg if their launch day phone is already sitting here state side at a regional hub/DC.

I hope they don’t bake in the sun too long. You know, battery wear and all 😉

When I order launch day Macs and Apple watches, they typically ship via FedEx.

When I pre-ordered my Studio Mac & Display Studio week before the launch day, mine was delivered FedEx Ground via nearby Rialto, CA Apple warehouse.

The only issue at that time was the Apple Card didn't have as much credit available and I could have charged it on Apple's 24 month 0% financing but the credit utilization would have gone to 75% which would seriously drop my credit score for utilization.

So I charged it on pre-order day on my Chase credit card which has a much larger credit limit but was declined as Chase thought my purchase was a fraud ($5,000).

Even after clearing it with Chase, Apple could not charge it so I ended up charging it on my AMEX Plat card and got the order to process.

Once it was about to ship, I called Apple again to do a media swap back to the Chase card. Approved and shipped.
So effectively I could do this now since it’s shipped via UPS in china or is too late for the media swap now ?

ISPU is not as fun. I miss tracking the phone from China to my house lol
The ISPU used to be a full-on party. I remember camping out in the mall waiting for the store to open... Apple employees would be out in the mall passing out snacks, water, etc... everyone just hanging out and making new friends, sharing the excitement...Samsung even poked fun at the event because they could not match the excitement about their new phone launch. Then Angela Ahrends came along and ruined it for everyone...

Now, most people pre-order and sit home by themselves waiting for "brown" to show up.

I can’t wait to play with it!!

This was my first time doing a preorder and I’m a bit confused. I thought the phone would be shipped to my Apple Store for pickup but emails say the phone is shipping to my house Which is a problem. Is there a way to get it sent to the store? It hasn’t shipped yet.
