This is kind of crazy. I ordered for ISPU so I wasn't expecting to be able to track at all. But I just went to UPS my choice and entered my order number -2 as a reference number, and this is what I see. I really wish I had a way to get the whole tracking #. I'm surprised because I assumed that the ISPU phones would come as a pallet load or something and not be assigned to order numbers until they arrived at the store. But maybe that's not the case. This is also the first time I've gotten a reference number to work.

That is not your Order number. You are seeing another Launch Day order for Delivery. You indicate you have ISPU selected your Order.

Thanks. I can already see a label was created by using my reference number (ie order number). I’m also able to see the last four tracking numbers. Was just curious how to retrieve the full tracking number.

I have been through each launch, surprisingly I’ve finally become patient. But still curious about it moments of boredom. Ha.
Is yours an ISPU ?

Truth. I saw this happen to a guy one year. He came to the store with his kids in tow and he was several hours early for his appointment time. The store rep told him to come back at the right time. The guy was most unhappy.
I came 10 minutes early last year and they told me to go wait somewhere close by. They don’t mess around with the appointment times.

I don't miss lining up 5 days early... but I do miss the party atmosphere of the old days...

Kids these days don't know the excitement of waiting in line. My store wouldn't even allow queues to form until 2am on the launch day. Then yuh had to wait until 7:30a for the employees to walk through the line starting at the beginning and asking how many, which model and carrier and then handing out slips with that info on it. All the while you're listening to the person in front of you hoping they weren't getting the same thing as you thinking to yourself what's your backup plan and the person behind you doing the same thing. Ahhh the good ol' days 😆

I lined up for my first iPhone, a 3g, and can remember the AT&T store limiting each customer to one phone. I sat on the curb next to the store for hours. They only had a handful of each color and memory option, and I only had enough money for the 8gb version and wanted the black color. They sold out of it with the guy in front of me, so I went with the white model knowing I probably wouldn't get one even if I drove into downtown Atlanta.

I keep coming back to the white models because of this first phone and the memory-- even now when I go for a different color, I switch back to white the next order. I'm excited for this week...

So I did get the spigen 16PM case, but the one I really wanted was the Spigen 16PM with the camera control button but it was out of stock. I just ordered that one so hopefully it comes before October 10th so I can return!

That was how I got my very first iPhone, I think it was a 4. Got there at 4 AM, long line formed, back then your position in that line was important. Suddenly we were told we had to line up somewhere else. Everyone ran. I refused to run, it seemed so greedy, so I ended up way further down the line than before. I don’t miss that one bit but it was kind of exciting as long as the people around you were civilized.

All my experiences were at Perimeter Mall. Once Apple switched to reservations, I go to Cumberland since it's closer.

Was too excited I asked if I could pick up the phone earlier than my appointment time but my store said its chaotic on this day so they need to adhere to appointment times 😅

I sat in line for the original iPhone and remember the mall Starbucks and Subway coming by and taking people's orders. I also remember some teenage girls walking past and snickering at us for sitting in line to buy a cell phone. I wonder how long it was before they asked their parents for one.

I have personally never lined up. My first iPhone was the 4 and I preordered through Best Buy. I had an appointment time for launch day and picked it up after work. I have worked a few launch days when I was a store manager for Sprint and was on that end of things. One of the downsides to that job was that I wasn’t allowed to buy an iPhone for the first couple months and place it on my employee account, so I always had to wait until supply caught up to demand and they gave us the go ahead.
