I don't think it's fair the people in california get to order them three hours before those of us in the east.

Why do people want to wake up so early? Would you get your device earlier if you order it minutes after it is available for order?

Yeah, maybe. I ordered one of the early powerbooks--the first Titanium, maybe?--later than my brother on the first day of sales, and mine was delivered more than two weeks after his. It all depends on how quickly early-first-day sales consume the supply that'll be immediately available. Might or might not be a problem.

Do I have to pay for it in full now or the credit card will be charge the day it ship?
I will order the WIFI only 64G.
don't want the crappy 3G from ATT.

So let me get this straight. There is no actual proof that it's going on PRESALE tomorrow morning but you'll all still wake up anyways just go get your processing done faster?

I consider myself a fan boy, I'm even an app developer myself, and even I would never do this. You guys are nuts IMHO, I'll be at my local Apple Store on 'April 3' and I'll get my 'free gift'. If there is one.

But happy alarm waking.;)
:apple:

I'm typically up at 0530 local and this occurs at 0730. Not a major hardship. Even so, I suspect the first order is going to sell out quickly, so wait at your own risk.

It depends, Are you Pre-Ordering or Reserving your iPad? There is a difference between the two. ;)

Do you know if reserving in store guarantee's you one, or will I just have to go ahead and have it shipped, if I don't want to spend 36 hours in line at the store?

It's important to keep in mind that UPS and FedEx don't usually deliver on Saturday unless Saturday delivery is explicitly paid for.

Which means if you're getting an iPad delivered to your house, you aren't getting it until Monday, April 5th.

Definitly want in on the first batch! 8:30 here I come!

If they had a Apple Store here then I'd gladly preorder for pickup but that's just not an option! Imagine me with my two year old daughter standing in line all morning for one LOLZ.

Easter Monday No Delivery!

...which actually means you won't get it until Tuesday, April 6th since Monday is Easter Monday, a Holiday for UPS and FedEx!

Apple is paying for the Saturday delivery, don't worry about that. I am sure they are getting some kind of deal with Fedex.

so i saw someone asked this question earlier but didnt see a answer..

if we pre-order online to be shipped, will they charge us now or when it ships

and

if we reserve for in-store pickup, will it charge us now or when we get to the store?

Actually...

When you order big ticket items like this on launch day Apple usually ships them overnight- even though it's free shipping to you the customer. If that's the case and Apple DOES ship overnight for this out of their own pocket they may very well pay for Saturday delivery. Apple does usually like to keep their customers happy. We'll see :apple:.

Wow, this is one of the sadest articles and threads ever posted here. I mean, who would ever guess that Apple is shutting down the store in the morning and coming up to take orders. Please don't insult us captain obvious.

You are assuming Apple didn't negotiate in its contract or decide to pay for Sat. delivery.

The "pre order" date was obvious, but the time was not. That is new info for those of us who didn't go to Madam Sonora's soothsaying school like you.

Who gave this a negative rating?

Negative people.

Pre-orders are charged when shipped, but they might put a hold on the money. Reservations are paid in store @ p/u.

God i tempted to get the Wi-Fi version just so I can use it during a large bulk of Spring Semester... I guess my laptop is OK for now.. soo heavy with all my books tho =(
