U.S. iPad Pre-Orders Set to Begin at 5:30 AM Pacific Time Tomorrow

Not sure if the missing front facing camera is the deal breaker for me. I would love to have this thing in the living room with skype loaded on it. I hate how Apple trickles features out on these damn things...
 
Ok cool, but its not like ordering at the crack of dawn tomorrow is going to get you your iPad anytime sooner. Let's not be overly consumerist here.

I bet they found out it was like iChat with ur nose.. plus from any angle u put it at i bet the lighting is really intense on the camera... making a silhoulhette.. this is :apple: they know what they are doing


I would have liked USB tho.. is the 30-pin really THAT great?

As stated, FedEx Priority Overnight delivers on Saturdays. This is how Apple shipped my 3GS for launch day. I had a shipping notification and was able to track my shipment. If it looks like I won't have it on 4/3, I'll head to my local Apple Store and return the shipped iPad once it arrives.

As you can tell from all the posters setting their credit cards (and wives) to stun and kill, there's a great deal of interest in the launch of this product. Several threads have cropped up in the iPad section over the last few days asking when on 3/12 the store would be open for pre-order. I thought it was worth submitting for the front page.

The 30Pin cable is capable of charging, sending digital 720p+ video and audio all at the same time. Lets see usb do that.
 
will we be able to reserve them for apple stores tomorrow or only when they get to the stores? A little confused by this.

Say you dont order at 830AM.....wait til you leave work and try pre-ordering at 5:30pm.....there is a chance that it may be out of stock by that point. Not saying it will, but who wants that possibility?
 
This sounds stupid enough but it is legit:

Does reserving in-store tomorrow guarantee availability on launch day at the retail store?

I ask this, because I have been burned by GameStop multiple times (WoW Collectors & Rock Band 2, even after pre-paying the entire balance).

Anyone have experience?

Another word on that... with the 3GS, the online reservation meant that people holding reservations were allowed to go to the front of the line. So, if you make an online reservation, you still need to get to the store before they sell out (if they do...).

Which is why my memory is also that people who reserved (vs. pre-ordered) didn't have their credit cards charged at all until they took delivery at the Apple Retail Store. If anyone has a different/better memory than me, please share.
 
don't the pre ordered ipads come with a free gift... of some sorts....

is there any word on that? what it is?

I used my code probably 6 months ago or so. I assume it will still work.

Well for one thing, it's not March 12 in Hawaii until 2am PST. Plus it takes a little while for them to update the web site, and I'm assuming a human is involved in that process somehow, so it makes more sense to do it at a somewhat reasonable hour.
