Oh...here's a thought.

Those people on college campuses with 13" MacBookPro's don't need them. They are overkill for those journalism majors, etc even with the capabilities they have in the 13".

Completely disagree. On college campuses many use the ODD that the MBP has that the MBA doesn't. Also the MBA doesn't have a security slot which is very handy in a college environment!

Munster believes, however, that continued strength in international markets and the potential for new Mac updates such as a refreshed MacBook Air near end of the quarter will likely help Apple close strongly to meet expectations.

Exactly how is Apple suppose to update the MBA when the 2 core mobile Ivy Bridge models aren't due till Q2 2012 ?

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1326993/

And even the Quad Core Ivy bridge models being targeted for April ( again outside the first quarter.)

These guys are like broken analog clocks (ones with hands). Correct twice a day due to nothing they do themselves.

Considering most use iTunes for their music, not sure wtf they are using an ODD for...everything can be DL'd digitally, from courses to game to music to videos, etc.

The ODD is dead...has been for 1.5 years due to space limitations, not only on the media itself but inside machines.

I work in a giant post facility and we barely touch any ODD media anymore, from BR to DVD to CDs and we author titles for BR and DVD...most are going to DDL.

The ODD format is dead...those hanging onto it really need to come into the future.

There are also security solutions out there for the MacBookAir. Just have to look them up.

This is going to be another great year for Apple. And for me, hopefully. I would love to end up with an iPad 3, MBPA, iPhone 5 and an iTV (Sorry current iTV tradename holder-lol) all before year end.

Come on Mac Pro Update... or 15 inch macbook pro air.

I'd get an imac but I already have a 27 inch screen.

I think the MacBookPro 13" is gone and done. I don't know of anyone with one.

I think what you'll see is the the 11-13" is going to be the Mac Air and the 15"-17" will be the Mac Book Pro or Mac Air Pro.

On the university I study at this moment it's 13" MBP galore.

yeah, I feel bad for those people waiting for that Mac Pro update.

Same here, feels like they've waited forever

I'm not waiting for a new iMac. No siree, I'm not a sad, sad individual who checks the Mac Rumors buyers guide for the latest gossip on a potential iMac refresh, I swear. It's not like I am counting the days since the last refresh...294 days to be exact, in case you were wondering...

People just need to take a chance on the Mac like I did. I didn't like it when I tried it years ago but I am enjoying my new MBP. I think Apple is counting on the iOS to convert guys like me to the Mac OS. :D

I'm waiting on new iMac. Wait is killing me, but I'm sure we'll see it between 1st April to May. Earlier would be better but I'm not holding out on that due to iPad 3.

Couldn't agree more. I picked up a Mini last summer as a stop gap, but I am really hoping for something with a touch more HP, and the new hardware.

Figured since I have waited this long (2008 was my last big Mac purchase), I may as well get something with the new architecture.
I am juggling Trinity, Ivy Bridge, and Kepler right now alongside waiting for Windows 8. My desktop is powerful enough but I still desire newer hardware with USB 3.0, PCIe 3.0, and UEFI. My Macbook is about to hit 5 years old and is in sore need of a replacement.

Or that people bought them before the holidays?
Another bad time with CES just around the corner. We have ISSCC going on just right now. Next up Cebit and after that Computex.

I would reconsider...Apple has definitely indicated that Retina Displays are in their future for all their products...

Would suck to get an iMac and then see ones come out with a completely new tech.

I have a ton of things I need to buy this year.

* New MBP my 2008 model isn't cutting it anymore for development.
* New iMac, for REAL development and for the kids :D
* iPad3 as my mobile test suite and development system.
* AppleTV3 because I just NEED 1080p!

Just waiting for the new toys to show up. :D

I'm waiting for the new iMacs to come out. Any chance they might be redesigned?

I hope not. You can't better visual perfection.

All I care about is having a 256GB SSD on board. I run iTunes 24/7 to fill our entire house with music. My 2TB hard drive hasn't stopped spinning for over 2 years, and I think it's getting tired. An SSD would help it cool down.

Clearly it's due solely to the MacRumors Buyer's Guide. As nothing is currently in the 'green'.

I'm waiting for a Retina iPad, Retina 15" MBA, and will upgrade to the ATV3 should one be released (giving my ATV2 to a family member).

In the graphics/post world, I have never seen a 13" MacBookPro. 15" & 17" only due to the 13" being worthless due to the lesser video card and processor.

Right, because if you're not a journalism major, you're in graphics/post

I have a very capable MBP 2010 with SSD and 8GB ram but I'm dying to get a 27" iMac fully loaded. Since my business picked up I can get it next month.

But should I wait? If I knew for sure the refresh will come out in April I would wait. But I don't think I want to wait for May-June or July. Would you?
