On their website it claims their 24ct gold iPhone 6 is out in 2 day's.

As for U2... pfffff not my taste, think Bono's a bit of an idiot.

A pre-bundled U2 Album... this is not an incentive to buy an iPhone. I better be able to delete the album; Bono will not be wasting space on my flash storage.

As a guy that morphed from admirer, fanboi to stockholder, I feel unease at the risk that product and functionality will be subsumed by fashion and celebrity promotion ...

Don't like U2? Don't comment and whine about it - there's just no need. What's gonna happen IS gonna happen, and complaining won't alter it.

Simple. :)

I believe that U2's involvement is related to Hi-Res audio coming to iTunes. Maybe their new single will come pre-loaded in Hi-Res.

Yeah, god forbid that people have opinions, people have opinions? Thats horrible, please o lord save us.

It might give the 40 to 50 year olds a kick (and they are of course an important customer base), but other than that I think U2 has largely lost their relevance today.

They haven't even released a truly great album since the early 90s - that's 20 years ago and around 10 years before iPod and OS X came to market.

U2 must have low expectations for the success of their new album. It's freaking U2, their music should stand on it's own. Sad.

If the album is free I'm sure it will just be a link to the iTunes store from new devices, kinda like Apples productivity apps when they turned free. Highly doubt an album will come pre-loaded already!

Pre-loaded bloatware on an iPhone?! If there's anything fake about any of the upcoming announcements, please let it be this!

It's Not That Bad

About 6 years ago I got to see U2 live in concert and was some 10 feet away from Bono and Slash. What I found was that the two guitarists for U2 are really quite good and talented. Bono isn't all bad, but he's getting old for the rock and roll scene.

That is pretty much Apple's track record. Didn't you know that before becoming a stockholder?
