Congratulations to everyone who has had a shipping confirmation. I’m a little jealous ! o_O

I ordered on Friday but haven’t received confirmation. Mine was a 16 inch M1 Max. Hopefully something comes through tomorrow.
Same here, still waiting for that magic despatch notification.
 
Anyone had a shipment email from TheEduStore yet? Apparently they ship with ParcelForce and you usually get a text regarding it before any sort of email from them

In the meantime, there's quite a few, mostly with an M1Pro 32GB RAM config. Sometimes they stake it against the 16" with an M1Max config. I have a 14" M1Max coming up, though with 24GPU instead of 32. So I expect to land halfway between those two data points.

In any case, most reviews say the 14" is the sweet spot. Except if you really need the bigger screen. The advantage of the high power mode is not clear yet.

I ordered the 16” M1 Max on Friday (the highest config at Costco). Fingers crossed for you that you get something tonight!
 
I received a text from DHL this morning with tracking information in - but it's not been updated since "Shipment picked up". But I have just received the dispatch notification from Apple which has updated the delivery range from "28th Oct - 2nd Nov" to "Arrives 2nd Nov"... Fingers crossed they're being conservative with their estimate as DHL is still showing "Estimated delivery: Date not available"

Can anyone recommend an unbiased review? I guess we will need to wait until the orders have been delivered. Sorry, but I can’t see how there isn’t a conflict of interest with a you tuber receiving a free Model to review.

I don't think Anandtech, MacRumors, TomsGuide, etc actually pay for their review models either... But if you want nuanced, those are three I would wait for. Particularly the Anandtech one.
 
So what are the chances of me being able to order tomorrow morning and pickup directly from the store in London?

I just want to get the base spec 14” model.

Asked in my local apple store and they said they are expecting ‘some’ in but no clue on what. Said best to use reserve and collect online

This might help someone… Just looked at the Australian site where it’s just turned 6am and the five preconfigured options visible across 14 and 16 inch have pick-up availability at Apple Stores. Imagine it’ll be the same here

I'm tempted to as well, and order from apple for £150 more with the edu discount lol, I've got a 14 inch too I need to return from apple this drops been so messy from me and I got so rushed buying I didnt properly explore the options

I was in the same boat as you when I got the 14 and saw that for marginally more get 2 more cpu cores, 2 more GPU cores and 2 extra inches

That would be me ? They're customer service is truly appalling. They're also totally non-committal on when they might have stock - so you can ignore whatever they quote on they're website. Going to try and buy from Apple direct instead as they are not worth the hassle.
