So many arrivals and I am empty handed. Ordering in 1min after the event paid off...

Same here. Guess it’s not apples fault though. I caved and was going to get a 16Gb from the nearest Apple store earlier today and just as I was about to leave they sold out of it. Then when I checked they had sold out of everything apart from the lowest spec 16”. Even the £4K beasts with 64gb were gone.
Happy for everyone who has got theirs super early but this has been frustrating. No idea why UPS cant deliver these over the weekend as well.
So no 14/16/1TB variants left in apple stores in London so bring on my M1 Max!!

Got to say these are some pretty amazing machines. I am just on the 14” base and it blows the high end 13” Intel 2020 out the water.

This is very true. In fact, even the M1 this time last year did an amazing job of putting the Intel MacBooks to shame. The M1 Pro (and M1 Max obviously) have taken things a significant step further.
been watching some pro vs max comparison and the pro's look so good I'd have in hindsight got one.
I think I will keep my BTO as its early December to get a 14" 10/16 32/1tb now.. would be £500 cheaper but I think I can live with that given I won't be changing this machine for a while

I ended up ordering 16” M1 Max, 64GB memory with 4TB SSD. Due to discounts I had via a purchase scheme with the company I’m with it worked out not *too* bad of a price for the spec I got. Originally I was going to order the same but with a 1TB SSD but the discount was good enough to get a 4TB upgrade with my budget. I’m planning on keeping this for a minimum of 3 years and do extensive heavy workloads so I really cannot wait!
I ordered about 45 mins after the announcement and got 9-16 November delivery window. Possibly could have got it earlier if I hadn’t spent so much time deciding on a config, but I’m just glad I have one coming.
So glad I held off on buying one of the first round of Apple Silicon machines. Giving back the dev kit and waiting it out with my hot and noisy Intel MacBook Pro was painful 😂

This is the exact machine I have ordered and I'm in the same position as you with waiting for it to be delivered so...small victories.
Would love for UPS to deliver over the weekend but that doesn't seem possible. Just have to wait those 2 days.
At this rate I expect mishaps on Monday too...
