So are we likely to get free unlimited data still or are they now going to charge with it being 3G?

Anyone know?

Existing iPhone customers upgrade to iPhone for free*

To thank you for being an iPhone fan, we're offering you an early upgrade to the brand new version when it launches on 11th July 2008. You won't have to wait until the end of your existing contract either, all you'll need to do is agree to a new 18-month minimum term contract.

*Best of all, the new 8GB iPhone won't cost you a penny on our £45 and £75 tariffs. And it's just £99 on our £35 tariff and new £30 tariff. This special early upgrade offer is only available online at o2.co.uk anytime from 11th July until 11th October 2008.

Take a look at our new Pay Monthly tariffs for iPhone

Then just register your interest opposite and we'll drop you a line in early July to tell you what you need to do to be one of the first to get your hands on the new 3G iPhone.

EXPENSIVE bolt ons !!

Looks like i'll be buying my iPhone back off ebay

As the title say....

Im definitely not going to sign up to an 18month contract as is the case with o2 UK

Also i've already been without my iPhone for a month, another whole month...not worth the wait.

iPhone 3...the count down has begun!

I'm guessing I throw £159 at O2 to upgrade to a white 16gb one - it only mentions the 8gb on the site...

Okay, so details aren't as detailed as we like, but from what I have heard so far from lots of different sources...

- Phone handset to cost around £129 for 8GB model. I really don't seeing it being cheaper and £129 seems pretty fair tbh. I imagine it would be £199 for 16GB model.

- Phone is not avaliable for pre-order, as of yet. Though strange as most other products have been avaliable for pre-order 5 minutes after keynote. I think it will be online in a week or so. Another reason for this may also be..

- Contracts, because of this huge price cut, you might have to sign a contract instore. Apple are now getting a cut of the contract money, thus they care about unlocking now. They will make it a lot harder.

- It will be released 11th of July 2008. Same as US, Aus, etc etc. The handset can be purchased at a Carphone Warehouse or o2 store for sure.

- It will not be avaliable on other networks, only o2. Which I personally think is really stupid, o2 aren't that great a network.

Anyone wanna throw in other UK rumours, facts, etc?
People need to calm down a bit, apple gave themselves a month to get ready for a reason. The iPhone will come.

now, the PAYG option isn't on from launch.. dammit.. i want one from launch..

and i have to go 16gb, as my current hacktivated iphone is a 16gb one

That's pretty good actually. £159 on a £35 per month contract for the 16Gb is going to make this really desirable.

You know, I may go for one after all.

but you can only get your free upgrade from www.o2.co.uk. But this has made me extremely happy...i think the 16GB will be £59 when upgrading.

I'm on the £35 a month contract - so an 'upgrade' to the 8gb will be £99, so what I want to know is what I have to do to get me a white one, I'm guessing pay £159 to 'upgrade'

haha oh well i kept mine for a case just like this where the phone comes out after the Key note (by a large time frame)

Super sleuthing 03sho.

Hopefully you get credit for this.

Submit it to MacRumors.

Wow nice. I've registered my interest to upgrade.

O2 seem to have managed this well.
PAYG will please alot of people. Free on some contracts. A cheaper £30 contact (albeit with very few minutes/texts) still unlimited data with 3G. BTopenzone. Very reasonable upgrades (ie. as if you were a new customer) with no trade in required.

I don't think we could have expected a much better deal.

£159 for an upgrade to 16GB when I have just sold my 8GB for £250 on eBay is quite a deal.
