Whilst I’m probably 20mins+ away in the line at the store (yes it’s still busy here), how does the free Apple TV+ activation work?

So they’re saying the watch is saying there is a data plan attached. Even though I removed it....

will get my new one paired up then call EE.. waste of time!!

will try again over weekend
So just so i understand the procedure as i will need to do it soon.
You have a watch with an EE cellular plan. You pair your new watch and use the existing cellular plan to pair with your new watch and then unpair the old watch and remove the data plan?

Well I unpaired my watch yesterday and it asked if I wanted to remove plan from watch which I selected yes.

however the CEX guy said it is apparently saying there is still a plan linked to it (I wasn’t there, it was my wife) so I am going to try and put the plan onto my new watch and see if that removes it properly from my old watch. (If that makes any sense)

Thats interesting because EE say to keep the plan and then pair your new watch using the existing plan.

EE said to me on the chat the other evening I had to cancel the plan and take out a new line - I will see tomorrow. Picked my SS up.
Basically you can pick the band and they open the outer box to swap the strap box inside.
The fun then came as it seems you can’t get the EPP discount on this “custom” order. Except I was very nice and the Apple guy applied it anyway!
Off out for the evening so will be setting it up in the morning.

Lucky that you managed to get a custom band with the EPP discount.

Makes no sense why they’ve not allowed you to create your own style and use the EPP discount.

Coming from a Series 0, I absolutely love the series 5 watch. Especially with the Milanese loop.

Picked mine up in Reading this morning (Alu space grey 44 and midnight blue sport loop). It's only used 10% battery all day.

I've never had one before but I'm very impressed so far. Lots to learn on it but it's all pretty straightforward. I'm very impressed with the syncing to the health app and my smart scales and powerbeats pro's that all found each other with no problems at all.

Was on the fence about getting the Series 5 as I currently have the Series 4, but figured since I was upgrading my phone I'd do the same with my watch, and it arrived earlier on this evening. I adore the always on display, a feature I didn't know I needed. Does anyone know if Apple will swap out the band that came with the watch supplied? The band combo I wanted wasn't in stock so I ordered another. Figured since the studio exists now it wouldn't be a problem?

I take it that you have the £5 from EE.If you cancel your plan and take a new one our the cost is now £7 so try and keep your existing plan. Can you keep me posted on if you made a successful transfer of the plan to your new watch.

Thanks. So you need to give them a call and ask them to transfer the plan to your new watch. Fingers crossed that you dont need a new plan

im sure it’ll be fine as I have a £5 plan showing on the my EE app still..

I suspect I’ll need to give them the IMEI numbers to swap it or something!

I’ve left the old watch paired to old iPhone and new paired to new iPhone so I can still access all details easily enough

I’m trying out SS Gold 44mm with my link bracelet to see how I get on. I always wanted a gold but went black last hear. The gold goes with quite a lot of my bands (mostly dark or black).

I also have the Milanese loop now in both gold and black if I want to dress them up

According to the EE rep I spoke to today, their new policy is not to transfer plans manually to a new watch, but instead to process a cancellation of the existing plan and to get you to sign up to a new plan in the app.

Probably to get people onto the £7 one...

If that’s their policy then I’ll cancel altogether, don’t us it enough currently and with a policy like that they can stick it

For people who came late to the party: I ordered with Apple on Thursday (19th) because I wasn’t initially sold on the always-on (but I am now 😁). My original delivery estimate for SSSB44 with Black Leather Loop was 3-4 weeks. This morning I got an email moving that up to this Friday! 🥳

So, if you are put off ordering because of the estimated delivery, I would still go for it and cross your fingers 🤞😄

For people who came late to the party...

Same here! Put off preordering and the delivery dates slipped to early October.

Decided to check the store app this morning and have bagged a pick up today (21st sept) for the S5 44mm Aluminium at the Covent Garden store.

It looks like apple have a good supply of apple watches this year, definitely worth checking the online store for availability if you’re considering a purchase!

Argh. My Apple Watch is being delivered some point next week but I just checked my local Apple store and they’ve got the SG and silver Aluminium 40mm in stock...

Might just pick one up today and return the online one.

You have a watch with an EE cellular plan. You pair your new watch and use the existing cellular plan to pair with your new watch and then unpair the old watch and remove the data plan?

Here is what I did:

  • Unpaired old S4, kept data plan
  • Paired new (restored form the backup), tried to use existing plan when prompted in the pair process and it failed with "Error 003, please call EE Customer services to finish" (So I hit cancel)
  • Called EE and they needed the new EEID. Note: explain from the off that you are inquiring about the plan only, the watches were bought form the Apple store
  • EE advised that all would be fine if I unpaired and re-paired now. I was skeptical and on way out so thought I would do later
  • (Later) The watch plan appeared in the app on phone as 'Unused data plan'
  • I then hit the (i) next to EE and hit 'Add New Plan'
  • The plan then activated (took about 5 mins) and the 'unused' one disappeared
  • Checked my EE account to confirm I only had one plan and I did
Hope this helps

Having ordered my S5 with the longer strap option, I’m having to wait until 4th-8th November for delivery. (Ordered 11th Sept).

Now eally annoying me that I could order one today with the regular length strap from Amazon or Curry’s and have it delivered tomorrow. 😕

I'm not even 100% sure I need the longer strap to be honest, it just seemed the safer option for me. My wrist measures ~190mm, which the shorter strap would theoretically be ok for, but perhaps a bit neat.

The Apple site says the regular length does for 140-210mm, and the longer length suits 160-245mm.

Seems a bit “size-ist” to not have both available to ship at launch. 😊

Nice one. So I take it that your S4 no longer has a Data plan linked to it so it’s sellable?
When you say that the unused watch plan appeared in the app? Do you mean the EE app or the watch app?
