We can find out who bazooka-joe really is, possibly where he lives if he has finance on the car etc - not all free, but for less than £20 I would say.
But you could play that game all day long if you just record all the license plates you see during the day?

On a separate point - is there a risk publicly showing your iPhone or watch imei or serial number? Anything negative that can be done remotely?

You could, but let's talk this further. I know from this forum, the apple devices, the delivery time, the LTE provider (so the main phone contract provider), when he is out or in, the car details etc etc.

I'm not a hacker etc, but work in IT, am pananoid about security. We also know about a cloud based device that monitors the property. I could go on and I really don't mean to pick on poor old Joe :)

I think we should all look at the internet footprint we leave behind - I am not immune to it, I have let out a few things too if you look through posts, but just pointing it out.

Anyway, I hope he enjoys his new watch that his neighbour at number 64 signed for (*joking I haven't a clue where he lives lol)...and @Bazooka-joe DON'T UPDATE IT!!! ;)

Fair enough!

Re: sellers of Apple devices prominently displaying imei or serial numbers- are there any risks for the buyer down the line? Ie can a Third party with that access “do anything?”

‘Probably’
As is said I’m not a hacker, just a paranoid IT guy :)

I always think less is more when it comes to sharing stuff on the internet.

Hi Guys, totally valid point about the licence plate. I uploaded the photo in-between meetings and should have blurred out the licence plate. You are quite right as normally that is what i would do. It is easy for someone to pay a few quid and use the plate to find out everything they want about someone. Thanks for reminding me and i will delete the post.

Anyway, spent a few frustrating hours setting up the new ceramic.
I unpaired my S4 and saved the data plan and paired my new watch. It asked for the data plan and when I selected it, it gave me a 003 code which is what i expected. I called EE and got passed around three people before eventually i spoke to someone who seemed to have an idea of what i wanted to do i.e Transfer my data plan from one watch to another. I gave her my EID number and she asked me to reboot the watch and phone even though it hadn't finished the set up process which was strange but i am a good boy and always do what i am told. . So i did what she said and we got to the mobile data screen, she asked me to select the data plan but it was gone. She scratched her head for a while telling me that she could see the plan on her system even though it had gone from my watch and the app on my phone. She asked me to reboot the watch again which mean going through the pairing process again. Got to the data plan screen again....still no plan. So she passed me on to a lady in second level support. She advised me to reboot the watch and re-pair without selecting the data plan. She said she would call me back in 20 minutes. So i re-paired the watch right through to the end skipping past the data plan. Then just as she rang me back, the watch started the auto update to WatchOS6.01. I didn't even know it had been released but it started the update and then gave a message saying 'Software update failed". Tried again and still the same message. Rebooted the watch and tried again and this time the update went through which took 10 minutes during which I made small talk with the welsh lady in second level support about Cardiff, Rugby, working hours, favourite tipple and the best pubs for a night out in Merthyr Tydfil.
We then attempted to connect the plan...still wouldnt work. So she asked me to delete the plan and then she manually added it. Rebooted my phone, opened the watch app and hey presto!! I could add the plan.
5 minutes later, cellular was working.
So now I have power cycled the watch and left it on charge just in case it needs to sync for 24 hours.
Phew!!
If you look back one year to the last time he got a new watch you know why :p
Absolutely, I was the guy that set up the "I think my watch is bricked" thread. What a pain in the A*** that was.:)

That’s a lot of hassle to go though I have to admit. It doesn’t fill me with confidence and I’m not looking forward to switching my S4 for my new S5. Honestly this cellular plan should be a lot more straightforward especially as this is the third watch model with cellular capability. 🤔😮

Argh, watch here but got too late in the day, gotta be up in 5 hours so will set up tomorrow!

The grey/black watch logo on the box is mighty impressive

Technically speaking I’m in the wrong thread but since we're (still) EU-buddies I’ll give it a shot. Apple marked my watch as shipped Friday but the status hasn’t updated since on DHL's site. On the order page at apple's website it says it'll arrive on October 8th. Anyone know if it’s actually in the process of being shipped or if I‘ll have to wait a while longer?
My S5 arrived in Eindhoven on a Saturday and remained there unmoving until Tuesday afternoon. It then arrived on the Wednesday, exactly as Apple said.

Exactly, setting up my S3 was a doddle and moving the plan from a S3 to S4 was easy too but this was a real ball ache.

So day one of new watch and virgin battery
Usage 1 hour 44 minutes, Standby 5 hours 33 minutes. still at 86%
No battery issues. Its as good as my S4 was and I expect it to get better as the battery settles down

Yes, my S5 battery life is solid too, but I still don't understand why it loses battery overnight (+- 10-15%) when not charging and obviously not in use?

Still waiting for mine, just posted another thread.

When it does arrive, what's the best process for upgrading from my current series 3 to the new one?

Mine is on 64% left

4 hours usage

For me currently, after the update from last night, I charged to 100% and put on my wrist at midnight and I'm currently at 15 hours 41 minutes Standby - 2 hours and 23 minutes useage and still have 56% left on the battery :) (was on theatre mode from 1am to 7am though)

yesterdays update has given my apple watch a nice battery boost got up at 6am this morning and 12 hours later and its still 65% so very happy with that it seems to have given it a good 25%+ boost since the weekend

didn't see any mention of battery life in the update files though.

Just to give an update - my watch has been transported to Amsterdam and I should have it by tomorrow according to DHL.
